After the great civil war, misfits, criminals, uprooted families and gold seekers streamed
west. The Indian wars were over, and the losers were sent to reservations. Some
refused.

John Daisy, a White Mountain Apache, escaped the reservation by traveling into the
vast, open land of the Great Plains with his white blood brother, known simply as Kid.
They lived an idyllic life, traveling, hunting and living free. If they needed money, they
captured wild mustangs, broke them and sold them.

Then they came upon a burned-out wagon with the family laying where they had died.
All but the two sisters. Ten and fifteen years old. Still alive, traumatized and very alone.

So much for Idyllic.

Very good. I am really enjoying this series. I normally don’t read many Westerns but this series I like. Strong characters developed nicely. Interesting stories well plotted. The fact that the Kid and John Daisy are both thinkers is a good bonus. Plenty of action with the story being character driven. Recommended,
