One dark night changed everything. Now Ivy Bishop must face the truth she’s spent a lifetime outrunning.
Haunted by the fallout of a case gone tragically wrong, Detective Ivy Bishop is forced to confront the one mystery she’s never been able to solve—her own. When new evidence resurfaces about the night her family was destroyed, Ivy is pulled into a web of secrets that stretches deeper than she ever imagined. But the truth won’t set her free. It might even break her.
As she investigates the shadows of her past, Ivy is also reckoning with a failure she can’t forgive: the young victim she couldn’t save. With the weight of two tragedies threatening to consume her, Ivy must decide if she’s still the protector she set out to be—or just another ghost left behind by the darkness.
Some wounds never heal. Some answers only lead to more pain. But Ivy Bishop isn’t done fighting.
The Ivy Bishop series was actually my intro to Alex's writing world, and Ivy's story got its hooks into me deep & quick. To say I was excited for this series finale is an understatement.
With chapters that, more or less, alternate between Ivy & Jonathan's perspectives we are treated to a breakneck pace throughout. Each time I thought I knew the direction the story was headed, Alex threw in a hairpin turn that had me holding onto my Kindle for dear life.
The final chapters were a whirlwind of action, danger, and revelations. Fans of Alex's primary series (Emily Slate) are guaranteed a little Easter egg of sorts in the book's final pages that promises delightful possibilites for at least one of these beloved characters. While I am sad to have reached the end of Ivy's series, I thoroughly enjoyed her journey. Ivy was always a damaged woman, but deep down aren't we all in some ways? It made her relatable, despite the crazy circumstances she finds herself in, and grounds everything in realism.
If you haven't read this series yet, you need to. It's fabulous.
**I received an advance review copy of this book for which I voluntarily chose to write an unbiased review.**
In the fifth and final book of the Ivy Bishop series, Ivy finally gets answers to what happened the night her family disappeared and her life changed forever. She finds out if the people closest to her have been betraying her or protecting her.
WOW! This finale pulls out all the stops—shocking reveals and breathtaking action that take you through twists and turns you don’t see coming. It also provides a most satisfying ending to a great series. It comes out October 15, so you have time to start the series if you haven’t already. All five books are free with #KindleUnlimited.
Thank you, @AlexSigmore, for my free advanced copy. I loved it.
I have greatly enjoyed every book in this series, but Alex Sigmore outdid himself on this finale. I couldn’t put it down, and the last several chapters had me white knuckling my Kindle!! A couple times I had to stop reading and take several deep breaths before continuing! Although I’m sad to see the series end, the author ended it on a very happy note! It was a wild ride following Ivy’s journey. Thank you Mr. Sigmore for your splendid writing style, story telling ability and for the wonderful entertainment!
Ivy's story, woven over this (too) short series culminates in a jaw-clenching finale that answers all the questions she has been asking. What happened the night her family disappeared? Why does the cop who found her seem to hate her sometimes, while other times acting as a mentor and protector? Will she ever be able to overcome her phobias? You'll have to read it to find out!
This was a good series and it ended on a good note where everything was resolved. It was not predictable at all. I’m glad we got to see/read what actually happened with Ivy 15 years ago. I really thought a certain someone was behind everything but I’m “they” weren’t lol a
Interesting premise, I guess. The Ivy Bishop in this book seems quite different than the prior books; sorta different personas.
I found it somewhat confusing. The killers motivation didn’t ring true to me. The whole book had me questioning if I had fallen asleep during my reading and missed major plot points.
I always hate to say goodbye to the characters you come to know in any given series but I am glad it ended on a high note. All the chaos, doubts, and confusion finally led to the answers Ivy needed.
I throughly enjoyed this series and book 5 ties all up all the lose ends and answers all the questions. If you want a quick read series, I highly recommend these 5 books
