A steamy Pro Football, Business Rivals, Enemies to Lovers Romance from Amazon Top Ten Bestselling author Lisa Suzanne.

Pro football legend Madden Bradley was never supposed to be anything but my enemy. With one season left on his contract, he’s set to take over his family’s empire, and I’m his business rival. Forced into a partnership we both resent, the last place I should be is tangled in his sheets.

Now we’re stuck working together, and the more we clash, the more explosive the tension becomes…until it finally detonates.

He’s maddening, charming, and completely addictive. And when he murmurs exactly what he’s going to do to me, I forget that he’s supposed to be the enemy.

Our forbidden romance has to stay between us. Our families can’t find out. Our companies can’t know. The truth could destroy everything we’ve worked for.

But when we discover a buried secret together, Madden faces an impossible choice:
The legacy he was born to lead… or the woman he was never supposed to fall for.

Mad Rivals (The Bradley Legacy, #1) by Lisa Suzanne

Between 3.75 and 4 out of 5 stars

Mad Rivals is another delicious, happy and fun book by Lisa Suzanne. It's the first book in a new series. But old characters from previous series pop up here and there and it was fun seeing them again.

In this book we follow Madden and Kennedy. Madden just got traded from Chicago to San Diego. He is a bit disappointed he cannot finish his career in Chicago where he played his entire career. His father is also pushing him to become more active in the family business and he keeps reminding him because he is the oldest he has to be the one who takes over the business in the future.

Meanwhile Kennedy and her best friend Clem are struggling to make ends meet at their jobs. When Kennedy falls asleep on the bus ride home her wallet and kindle get stolen and she is absolutely done with their crappy apartment and shitty jobs. Kennedy decides that she and Clem will start working at her father's company and instantly things improve for both girls.

Kennedy decides to stop at Starbucks on her first day of her new job. When she enters the shop a man, Madden, bumps into her and instantly sparks fly and burn all around them. They instantly lust after each other and every move and look sets them on fire. They leave without exchanging numbers.

Until they unexpectedly meet when they are presenting their company's bids to the same job. Fire erupts and they want nothing more than to give into their attraction. They end up sharing the job and when their father's find out they forbid their children to see each other personally. Something happened between their fathers and they are mortal enemies.

But Kennedy and Madden cannot stay apart and they enter a passionate and all consuming relationship. But things happen, things that shock them both, and it gets really complicated.

Madden and Kennedy are fun, passionate and give both their hearts easily to the other one. It's a case of insta-lust and insta-love. I loved their chemistry and camaraderie.

The only thing that bothered me a little bit is how familiar and comparable this book is to other books in this genre. It's a case of a meet cute, insta-lust, insta-love, 3rd act break up and a HEA. Normally I don't mind some overlap. Because to be fair, you can compare most books to other books. But I missed a bit of originality and uniqueness that makes this one stand out compared to other books.

But overall a really fun book and I am glad I read it. Lisa Suzanne is brilliant at her craft and always delivers fun and happy books that I devour.

Between 3.75 and 4 out of 5 stars for Mad Rivals!

Mad Rivals by Lisa Suzanne
4/5⭐
3/5🌶️

This was my first book by this author, and I enjoyed it! The chemistry between the main characters is electric, and the tension kept me on the edge of my seat. Plus, their banter is super entertaining, and some intriguing family secrets and mysteries kept me hooked.

Madden is a pro football player getting ready to move to San Diego, but he’s also the heir to a family business. His dad wants him to get more involved, but Madden isn’t too keen on that. One day, when he's in a coffee shop, he meets Kennedy, and the attraction is instant! But, they find out their families are business rivals, which adds a whole new twist.

Kennedy is such a strong character—smart, independent, and determined. For a long time, she’s tried to live her own life away from her parents’ influence. But after hitting a breaking point, she decides to return to work for them. I admired her drive to prove that she’s more than capable. When she and Madden have to team up for a project, they do their best to keep it professional, but that undeniable chemistry just can’t be ignored.

It was so fun watching Madden and Kennedy work together to dig into their families’ secrets. You start to understand why their families seem to have this intense rivalry and why Kennedy’s dad warns her to stay away from Madden. Both of them are strong individuals, but I loved how they opened up and were honest with each other. This story was a light and enjoyable read, sprinkled with family secrets and a bit of mystery. I also loved the side characters and can’t wait to see what’s next in this series!

Madden Bradley is who all other book boyfriends will be measured against. Madden goes after what he wants and get it and he wants Kennedy. This man is something else and the love he has for his family, football is nothing compared to the way he feels for the fiery Kennedy.

These two burned the pages and I loved seeing their connection bloom and not be denied! This story was so beautiful and I couldn’t get enough of them! I loved loved LOVED THE AUDIO and everything about this story had me in a choke hold!

A stellar start to a new series. This family had my heart and I am excited to see the Bradleys grow as they navigate the family legacy and find their way!

I swear, each LS book I read gets better and better. I loved this one so much. I loved the banter early on and how quickly Madden and Kennedy fell for each other despite their parents warning them off of each other for being business rivals. I LOVED the mystery/suspense aspect of the story. There were some twists and turns I was not expecting!

Dane and Avery did absolutely amazing on this narration. They portrayed Mad Brad and Kenny in the best way!

MMC Madden is a pro football player nearing retirement who was just recently traded. He’s also the heir to the family business/real estate/construction empire. And the family pressure is no joke. FMC Kennedy is a graphic designer who is struggling to make it on her own. She’s also heir to a family business/real estate/construction empire. She also has family pressure. Madden and Kennedy meet cute at a Starbucks and soon find out they are bidding on the same job…and their fathers are bitter rivals. These two have great chemistry and banter. Their initial hook up in the bathroom during the gala was hotttt. I loved their relationship. Even though they were sneaking around they communicated well. The little bit of suspense was a nice addition. I didn’t enjoy the third act breakup, but the payoff and HEA was worth it!

I am SOOOOOO happy to have a new series by Lisa Suzanne!! Im not going to lie, I was in a bit of a sad state after the Nash Brothers series ended...it was one of my favorites...but, Lisa is back with the Bradley Legacy...and I am ready to dive in to these 5 new delicious brothers!!😍

This book centers around the eldest Bradley brother, Madden. Pro football player who is nearing retirement. He was hoping to end his career in Chicago where he has been playing, but a sudden trade has his career headed to San Diego. As he reaches the end of his football career, his father begins to put pressure on him to take over the family business. Madden is reluctant...football is his passion, but he knows he can't play forever...so he agrees to start learning more about the business and working on certain projects. Madden is sweet and caring but has a very dominant and possessive side.

Kennedy is our FMC...young, feisty and a trust fund baby. But make no mistake...she is no spoiled princess...she is in line to take over her families business and is DETERMINED to make a name for herself that is not dependent on her fathers success. She's hard working and willing to do what it takes to make everyone see that she is capable of more than they think.

On Kennedys first day of work, she stops for coffee when she bumps into a strong and devastatingly handsome man...Madden. Insta lust , sparks fly...these two are hooked from first sight. But, when they walk into their meeting, they realise they are from rival businesses and families...both bidding on the same project. The feelings are still there but now there is an added layer of tension as both want the job and will do what it takes to get it.

They are forced to work together...and its only a matter of time before insta lust turns into insta love and they can't stay away from each other. They start a secret relationship and are warned by their families to keep things professional and avoid all personal interactions with each other. But these two don't listen. They can't stay away and do not want to.

Madden is everything Kennedy wants and needs....he's attentive and caring...he is also dominant...I would say he's a soft dom. He controls her in a way that she needs and craves while still being gently and loving. And Madden?? In Kennedy he finds everything he never thought he needed or could have. He feels safe and seen.

The two spend time working and loving...trying to uncover what the BIG secret is that has kept their families at odds for so many years...and when they do uncover it, its chaos and destruction. No one is safe from the fallout...not even Kennedy and Madden...and they end up heartbreakingly parting ways.

I wanted to cry...I wanted to cry for Madden because seriously WTF...and I wanted to cry for Kennedy. It was hard watching them be apart when they clearly loved and NEEDED each other...but they needed that time apart to sort through this secret that turned their lives upside down. Honestly I don't know how I would react or if I could get through it...but they do manage to get through it and find their way back to each other. I loved that even while apart, their feelings are still strong and true...neither of them even looks at another person or has any interest in pursing anyone else...they are all in for each other even when they are apart. 🥹

I love love LOVED the cameos from the Nash brothers! I missed them so much, so it was nice to see them and get a little glimpse into their lives again.

While this is a "sports romance", I would say that the football in this book is more of a background type of trope. There's very little of it and it isn't a main focus, so please keep that in mind when you dive in.

This was the perfect way to start a new series...I know some people have said they wanted more on the family dynamics and why things are the way they are, but it's only the first book and I think as we learn and read more about the other brothers, we will learn more...and I am so looking forward to it! 💙

Thank you so much to Lisa Suzanne and VPR for the opportunity to ARC read the beginning of this amazing series!

My first read from The Bradley Legacy series and even though it didn’t fully wow me, it definitely made me curious about the rest of the Bradley brothers 👀

Tropes:
☕ a cute Starbucks meet-cute
🔥 instant lust
💔 rival families & secrets
👫 rivals-to-lovers + age gap + dual POVs

What i liked:
The pacing (especially the second half), the family dynamics, great side friendships (loved Kennedy & Clementine!) and the persistent MMC (always a win in my book 😏)

What didn’t:
I just missed the spark between the main couple. Their love felt a bit rushed and I didn’t fully believe in the connection.

Still, if you like fast-paced romances with a bit of drama and spice, this might be worth checking out! 🔥📚

I loved this book! Loved the banter and chemistry between Madden & Kennedy! I’m also just a sucker for an enemies to lovers trope. Especially when the two of them are so hot together! It was a great read and can’t wait for the next book in the series. So glad I got to be on the ARC team for this book!

Madden Bradley is a pro football player and heir to his father’s business. After 13 years playing in Chicago, he’s traded to San Diego in what might be his final season, a move he’s unhappy about but powerless to stop. Madden is also tired of hearing his dad constantly talk about the Bradley legacy and what’s expected of him. During the off-season, while working with his dad, Madden meets Kennedy Van Buren at Starbucks. Kennedy is fiercely independent, driven, and competitive, determined to make her own path despite her family’s expectations. They feel an immediate attraction but soon discover they are business rivals. Kennedy’s father warns her to avoid Madden because of past conflicts with his family, which adds tension when they’re forced to work together after winning a project bid.

The banter between them is amazing. They share more in common than they realize, including their favorite Starbucks drink, the Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso (which is also my favorite). Both are reluctant heirs to their family businesses. Kennedy initially seeks independence from her parents with the help of her friend Clementine, but eventually returns to work for her family. Competitive and driven, Kennedy matches Madden’s intensity, making their dynamic even more interesting.

Madden pursues Kennedy from the start, but she resists because of their professional partnership. Still, proximity and collaboration bring them closer, and after a steamy kiss, their relationship shifts. Kennedy is cautious, not wanting to get hurt, but their connection is inevitable. I loved Madden’s patience and thoughtfulness, he’s vulnerable with her and earns her trust by sharing things he keeps from others. When Kennedy finally commits, their relationship feels like true goals. They make a perfect team.

And the spice? It’s fantastic. There’s a particularly hot bathroom scene that stood out! Madden has a dirty mouth, and Kennedy loves it, so do I. If you like a man who’s a cinnamon roll daily but dominant in the bedroom, Madden is your guy. He calls her “tiger,” and I adored him.

I also enjoyed the characters’ growth and how, despite everything, they try their best to be together. The suspense around Madden’s dad’s family secrets added another layer, and I liked how Madden trusted Kennedy enough to let her in and accept her help. Their secret escapades, the complicity between them, and the love that grows despite family drama really stood out.

The side characters are great, and this book skillfully blends many tropes, football, business rivalry, secrets, romance, and spice, into a perfect mix. This is my first book by Lisa Suzanne, but it won’t be my last. I’m already eager for book two after the sneak peek we got, I’m fully invested.

Thank you, Valentine PR and Lisa Suzanne, for the advance copy. This review reflects my honest thoughts.

Great Start to New Series

Ms. Suzanne has done it again by bringing another hit in new series The Bradley Legacy Series. This is Madden and Kennedy’s heartwarming story that drew me in and held me until the last page was turned. Love or loyalty that’s the big question and something that Madden and Kennedy have to answer. The steam was coming off the pages with this couple and had me rooting for them throughout the book. Now I look forward to the next book in this series.

A lighthearted read about business rivals Madden and Kennedy doing their best to hide their feelings. Alas, that’s doesn’t work and they must navigate hiding their relationship and growing it at the same time. A mystery unfolds as they discover family secrets as well!

I found this read to be relaxing, funny, and quite spicy!

A fun new series from Lisa Suzanne featuring the Bradley boys, five brothers, four footballers and one baseball player beginning Madden Bradley, the oldest son and heir apparent to the family construction empire once he puts his cleats behind him and retires from the game that is. He has an insta-attraction, meet cute in Starbucks with Kennedy over their sharing the same coffee order but in their case the stars are misaligned. Not only has Madden about to leave Chicago for the sunnier climes of San Diego and a new team but Kennedy is a Van Buren, and their fathers have been sworn enemies for decades.

Overall, Mad Rivals was a fun and easy read, with a strong storyline based around a rivals-to-lovers trope and the ensuing clandestine romance, which was further complicated by the mysterious reasons behind the bitter business feud between the hero and heroine’s fathers. Madden and Kennedy had undeniable chemistry, but their relationship was complicated not only by their fathers history, but also by the fact that they were destined to head up their respective family companies where they’d ultimately be competing against each other. There was a further sprinkling of angst after Madden's discovery of his father's deceit led him to doubt his sporting achievements and exactly how much of his accomplishments were down to merit and not his father’s machinations. This ultimately resulted in a third act breakup with Kennedy but there was no cheating or hint of another woman. With this book the Bradley Legacy is off to a strong start.

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. I thought I'd take a chance on this ALC as it's the first book in a new series. No better place to start.

Madden Bradley plays professional football in Chicago until he is suddenly traded in his last year of his contract to San Diego. Madden is also the oldest of seven children and his father wants him to take over the family business. (though he doesn't want it.)

Madden meets our FMC, Kennedy Van Buren, while getting coffee and their attraction is instant. He then finds out she is his competition with his father's business. Then, they both learn that their fathers don't like each other, but they don't know why or what happened.

Though they are rivals and shouldn't be together neither of them can resist what they feel. They decide to be together in secret. And he falls first and hard. But, that can't last forever. How can they be together and work with their fathers? Plus, Madden soon learns some illegal activities from his father and has to take care of that.

I can't not mention the spice, because this book is spicy spicy between Madden and Kennedy.

I listened to the audio of this. It is narrated dually by Dane Anderson and Avery Caris. I wish it was a duet narration. It would have been that much better. Both narrators are great and have wonderful voices.

Thank you to the author and Must Love Audio for an advanced listeners copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love these football series so much and so glad we have another series to binge, especially with football season on the horizon!
When books mention some familiar names from previous series, its one of my favorite things to be able to "catch up" with old characters.
Kennedy is just about done with her crappy life after her wallet gets stolen on a bus ride. When she decides to turn her life around and work for her fathers company, things start to look up. FINALLY.
That is, until she bumps into Madden at Starbucks and feels that instant spark that we all love to read about.
As fate would have it, they bump into one another when they are competing for the same job. Forced to work together, demanded to stay away from one another outside of work. What did we think was gonna happen? Especially when that much tension is brewing between them?!

This book had a couple secrets that Kennedy and Madden would uncover while working but it also brought their relationship together if that makes sense. Overall, it was a cute read and similar to her others but I enjoyed the development of their relationship!

As we start the latest series by Lisa Suzanne, The Bradley Legacy series begins with Madden Bradley. He has played his entire career in Chicago and has now been traded to San Diego. He is also receiving pressure from his father to join the family business, as the oldest it will be his one day.

Kennedy is running paycheck to paycheck and has had enough. A bit of bad luck pushes her to work for her father’s business. On her first day, she literally runs into Madden and sparks fly, but no information is exchanged.

Their paths will cross again at a presentation for the same job. We then learn the families are rivals, will Kennedy and Madden listen, or meet in secret? Will they give in to love, or remain loyal to their families?

I enjoyed Kennedy and Madden’s story, plenty of spice, and a few twists, kept the story going. I am looking forward to the next book.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for this ARC!

Kennedy and Madden’s love story is wow. I was hooked by chapter three, and from there, I couldn’t put it down. I love me a MMC who is absolutely finished for the FMC—give me a finished man and I will gobble it up. Madden was that man for Kennedy.

They’re “enemies” by virtue of their parents’ history, though I’d classify them more as rivals than true enemies. The third-act breakup? The perfect dash of seasoning to spice up the story.

This was my first book by this author, and I genuinely enjoyed it. The writing was relatable, the pacing worked, and the romance hit all the right notes.

A solid 4-star read for me—wonderful from start to finish!

Mad Rivals is the first book in the new series following 7 siblings. Madden Bradley is a charming football player, nearing the end of his playing days, and his dad is pressuring to take over the family business.

On Kennedy's first day of work, she meets Madden at Starbucks. There's an instant connection, but the next time they see each other, they're bidding on the same job. They're forced to work together on the project. Even though they are rivals, they can't deny the attraction. They start a secret relationship while trying to get to the root of their family's rivalry.

There's a good balance of romance and suspense, with a side football. Love getting cameos of the Nash brothers and their spouses. Looking forward to continuing this series!

Madden is a pro football player, who is reaching the end of his career, and taking over his family’s empire, while Kennedy is just as reluctant to take over her own family’s legacy.
This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, tension, business rivals, enemies / lovers, humor, witty banter, forbidden romance, making choices, challenges, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and sweet, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I should have stopped reading this one when it was said that in a family of multiple siblings, all were professional athletes, and the others were females. Because surely women can't be professional athletes. Cue eye roll.

The writing style wasn't my favorite. The first conflict was evident very early on and the second conflict was quite forced, with both conflicts being trite.
I simply didn't care for this one.

And she does it again! These Bradley Men! Wowwee! I know I read them backwards BUT I’m hooked on her and her writing style! Anyway about the book! Mad Rivals is the explosive start to The Bradley Legacy series we never knew we needed! Lisa Suzanne masterfully throws a pro football legend and his fierce business rival into a forced partnership, resulting in a forbidden romance that is pure fire. The stakes are high. With family legacies, competing empires, and a secret that threatens to destroy it all but it's the intense, undeniable connection between our leads that steals the show. Madden is the quintessential swoon-worthy hero, and Kennedy is the strong, intelligent heroine who gives him a run for his money. was completely hooked and wanting more. This book is a fast-paced, deeply emotional, and scorchingly hot ride. If you need a sports romance with high stakes drama and a hero who will ruin you for all others, this is it! I’m SO ready for Red Zone and 🤞🏻 I get accepted into the ARC team! And come to find out the other day that there are going to be 7, yes you read correctly, 7 books in this series! Ohhhh, I cannot wait!

This was my first book by Lisa Suzanne, and while it didn't fully hit for me, it was overall enjoyable. Madden and Kennedy have a bit of a meet cute, but that is soon overshadowed by the discovery that they are business rivals at their families' construction firms with some secret family drama between their dads. Madden also happens to be an NFL quarterback who moonlights as an employee in the family business in the offseason. They soon found themselves working together which allowed for things to blossom, and the spice certainly hit.

I just struggled to find myself fully invested in their relationship. While the first half was fun, the pacing felt a bit off in the latter half, and I struggled with how some of the family drama was handled.

I am still curious about the family and am interested to see what happens next.

I listened to the audio, and Dane Anderson and Avery Caris did a good job with the dual narration of this story. They managed to capture the different facets of the characters which made for an enjoyable listen.

Thank you so much to Lisa and Must Love Audio for an advanced audio.

The audacity of the way this cover FOOLED me 😅🫣😆

I fully expected this to be a sweet little football romance but my gosh Lisa….. KILLED this! It was absolutely nothing like what I thought it would be but in the BEST WAY!!

So their parents are business rivals and the MMC and FMC are set to take over their respective companies one day but the way they accidentally met and had an instant spark was magical.

The MMC does also play professional football but it plays a side character to the family businesses! The most surprising factor of this book was the SPICE 🥵 it was absolutely delicious 🤤 good gosh, best surprise and the audio is fantastic!!

Can’t wait for the next one!

This was a fun cute football romance. Family rivals in business, but once Madden and Kennedy took over they figured out a way to work together!

I enjoyed the business aspect of this story. Usually the entire book focuses on the sport, but we got to see another side of the player and see what he potentially had waiting for him after football!

I listened to this and the narration was great!

Mad Brad or Madden Bradley is an NFL player currently in his last year his Chicago teammates and is suddenly traded to the San Francisco Storm. Spencer Nash and Clay Mack are his new teammates and Madden and Clay are becoming friends since they are both single.
Kennedy and her best friend, Clem hate their jobs and their apartment so Kennedy called her parents and said she’d learn the family business under one condition which was that Clem got a job as well.

I loved all the twists and turns. Can't wait for Dex’s book

Good but...

It's not as good as the Nash Brothers series. There's a hea, steamy scenes, etc. but there are a couple of pet peeves that lowered my rating. The setting implies family businesses and some drama but it reads as a split personality. Spoilers

Pet peeve #1
Kennedy is joining her father's business after trying to succeed on her own. She's portrayed as young and inexperienced yet is given the CEO position months after joining the business. Also, she is only awarded a contract she was vying against Madden for, but only gets it because Madden backs out and "let's her win" the business. Shame on the author for portraying women this way.

Peeve #2
Madden, a 35 year old football player, has a jerk father who forces him to also be part of the family business. Somehow, Madden is able to be a pro athlete AND a business manager AND investigate his father's illegal business dealings AND kick him out/take over the family business AND woo Kennedy, letting her "win" at business because obviously she can't be successful otherwise, and STILL transfer to a new team all within several months. 🙄

So what happened to dear old dad, the criminal, and to both of the new CEOs who've taken over the family businesses? All we know is Kennedy has been reduced to a cheering gf of the pro athlete. Disappointing.

This was a great start to Lisa Suzanne's newest series The Bradley Legacy -in fact I am already ready for the next book! =)
Madden is a pro football player closing in on his retirement and then will be taking over his dad's business. Kennedy is working for her father and is determined to do a good job. Being business rival's they find themselves being forced to work together on a contract. Madden is greatly attracted to Kennedy and wants to purse something but secrets in his family's business could destroy everything.

ARC Review
This was my first Lisa Suzanne book I’ve read and I’m already on the hunt for the rest of her books! I absolutely LOVED this book. It was a fun enemies to lovers with a hint of forbidden romance. The spice level was perfect with not too much and not too little. The banter between Kennedy and Madden was so funny it had me smiling so big and laughing out lout. It’s a quick read with a bit of mystery to it as well. Would definitely recommend if you love a sports romance! :)
Thank you so much Valentine Pr for this arc book!
