This is a 3.5*. It doesn't feel like a four, but dammit it is close. The story is a thriller with a romantic element that is minor and subtle. It's also YA/NA which I am not keen on, and there is a lot of angst and so on. This is also in need of much more editing, and not just for the typos, but for the development of the story and to weed out the wooliness in places.

HOWEVER. I think at the bottom of it all, this is a great story and Hawkins has created a great and flawed character. The story, in spite of its flaws, grabbed my attention and drew me through the story. The ending needs some work and seems a little contrived yet, I think I am going to go and get part 2.

Very different. Not bad, I actually got into the story. More so because it's like nothing I've ever read before. I'm just a bit ticked at the way it ended and believe this story will benefit GREATLY by another round of edits.
Teen angst are the first words that come to mind when I think of how to give a short sum up of what I've read. I wish the author the very best of luck and hope she releases the rest of the story soon.
I'll be keeping my eyes peeled ;)

An interesting story but I wouldn't spend money on it in its current form. This author has other works that I have read which are more in the fantasy genre and I can honestly say that I am looking forward to more but this book just has too many rough edges which needs to be edited.

This is a very promising author but she needs to learn to make her dialogue flow a bit easier and give her readers more information to support her story.

I would recommend this if you get a free copy on Amazon because it is quite a good story but it is still in its infancy

A real cliff hanger of a book. I did not like the ending so I ct a star from what would otherwise have been a five star book. Maybe I will read #2 but I did not like the trailer.
