Starstruck is the second act of Riley Edgewood's three-part sexy romance serial, Rock & Release.

Cassidy Evans is a mess.

On the surface, everything seems perfect. New friends, a job she loves--and the very talented (in and out of the sheets) Gage Logan is making this summer the hottest of her life.

But as her heart opens to Gage, feelings she's been trying to avoid slip through, too. Regret over her rocky relationship with her parents. The pain of her brother's recent death. Guilt over a fallout with her best friend... As much as she craves Gage, she can't keep her heart unlocked the way she feels he deserves.

Then there's the matter of Luca James, international rock star and lead singer for Gold Rush Standard. Cassidy can't stand his music. She can't stand his arrogance.

And she especially can't stand how she's drawn to his no-strings-attached flirting anyway.

Soon Cassidy will have to make a choice. Ignore her heart and go after the carefree life she covets, or stand strong to face a bittersweet reality. Either way, she risks losing everything she truly wants.

Edgewood - Starstuck
Okay, I’m not going to go on and on about Starstruck (because I already did that on VIP) but here’s the short version: I really loved this whole series. I really do not care for serials, but 1) Riley puts the full trilogy out over 6 weeks, which is reasonable and 2) I got insider access because I’m super special which was cool. You don’t really care about that because the whole trilogy is out now so you can get the whole darned thing, but trust me that waiting for the next book after a cliff-hanger was torture. Sweet, delicious, torture.

Overall Rating: 5 stars- Screw sleep! I’ll let the kids watch TV and eat hot dogs tomorrow.

Remember when I said in my review for VIP that I wanted to strangle Cassidy sometimes? Well let me tell you, that does NOT stop in Starstruck. Now, usually being irritated with the heroine would be a bad thing, but it wasn’t that she was stupid. It was that she was doing stupid things – a subtle, but important difference.
“No. Stay. This is fine. This is perfect, actually. You don’t even like me.”

I wish I could share with you the email that I sent to Riley at the end of Starstuck but that would be a spoiler. I will just tell you that there was foul language involved. I completely understood Cassidy’s motivations, but crap on a cracker; I wanted to smack her in the head.
“It must be so hard to deal with all the money and the cards and the toys and the huge house – more than one, I’d assume – and the supermodels and the fame and the –“

Of course, there’s Gage. If I hadn’t already loved him in book 1, it’s definitely true love now. He’s the real deal. We need to clone him and hand him out because yeah, um, yum. YUM, I TELL YOU. YUM.
“There she is.”
“Who?”
“You.”
Excuse me while I go sit in a corner and melt.

And there’s Luca and he’s super-hot, too. I mean, really, if I learned anything from these books it’s that I really need a job at a concert venue. Hot guys *everywhere,* right?

Really, you should just one-click this whole series because they’re all awesome. I’ll gush some more when I review Show Stopper (book 3) but it’s good. It’s horrible, but it’s good.
“If you’d say yes, I’d slam you up against that wall and show you half the things I want to do to you.”

Smut Factor: 4 stars- Smokin’ Hot!
Character likability: 4 stars- I wish we were friends.
Storytelling : 5 stars- I wake up thinking this really happened.
Writing and editing quality : 5 stars - Excellent!

I loved Starstruck! Riley Edgewood really knew how to capture our hearts, and have us wanting more.

***I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.***

When we last saw Cassidy, she was going to let Gage go, but instead she keeps throwing herself into him. He spends every night in her bed. The rise of their bodies together, the gasping for breath, she clings to those moments, to those fragile strands of the one thing that truly allows her mind to go blank. Outside the sheets, though, somethings not right between the two of them anymore.

Not only has Cassidy not spoken to her parents, but still when someone brings up her dead brother, Jason, she just cracks, and she floods with guilt.

Gold Rush Standard is practically Rock-star Royalty, to at least everyone but Cassidy. That is, until Luca James.

Luca James is a panty-wetting GORGEOUS rock star, Leader of Gold Rush Standard, looking hella hott with his high cheek bones, long dark lashes, he catches Cassidys eyes, and in that moment, the whole world freezes. He can walk into a room and it will silence, everyone is at his mercy...he could get any woman into his bed..or should I say in his dressing room..any night. She shouldn't care because she don't like his music, and she thinks he's full of it from any interview shes ever accidentally caught, but for some reason shes have trouble breathing when she looks at him. Who knew she'd be so starstruck over someone she didn't even like?

When Luca befriends Cassidy, Cassidy soon finds herself seeking out Luca...she can't get enough of this rock-star that she loves to hate. One backstage pass leads to one steamy kiss, and Cassidy is flooded with guilt. Cassidy wants Gage to have a deserving woman, and she believes she is not the one for him. But yet, she does not want to see him with another woman. But she also finds herself wanting to experience Luca. And soon she is faced with a big decision.. and I'm DYING to find out what the consequences of her decision is.

#TeamGage. I really hope she realizes that Gage is the guy for her. I'm not too sure Luca has anything besides his looks going for him. Regardless, I believe that both Gages feelings and intentions are true.

"I'll fight for you, if you need me to. Just tell me how to do it without crossing one of the borders you have up."

I'm still over here like... whats going on with Teagan... I neeeeed her story !

BTW. This is NOT a standalone and if you haven't read the first book, VIP, you will be totally confused.

5 'torn' stars

Starstruck = bookstruck. I am seriously loving this series.

Wow. Just wow! I was super super lucky and extremely grateful to have received an advanced copy of the second instalment in the Rock & Release series from the author!

This follow on was everything I needed it to be and more! Holy shit. I loved it and I need to read the next book like yesterday!

Usually I steer away from books that have this kind of situation present, but damn, the author rocked it and it completely worked for me. I don't want to give away too much.. But I will say that if you liked the 'thoughtless' trilogy, I think you'll enjoy this.

Cassidy who is still trying to catch her breath and figure things out finds herself in a tricky situation. The brilliant thing about this, is that I love both options! It's not very often a story can achieve that for me, so I'm seriously excited to see where this goes.

We meet Luca James in this instalment... Um yummy. Mega hot rockstar and lead singer of Gold rush standard. He knows what he wants and he makes no apologies for pulling out all the stops to get it. Cassie doesn't even like his music but finds herself drawn to him. He's everything she was looking for in Gage before those summer romance lines became blurred between them. Something easy and uncomplicated. No strings. Gage is someone she could give her heart to, but I think that scares her. She needs to find herself first which is exactly why this scenario works here!

Cassidy is torn, and understandably so. It's brilliant. I love it.

Now this ended in a 'kinda' cliffhanger... But not really. It was enough of a 'gasp' moment to make me wish I had waited until I had book three so I could continue reading straight away. I need to know how this ends!

As expected the writing was amazing. Such an easy, engaging read. Awesome job Riley! You have me hooked.

"Cassidy Evans is a mess".....is sooooo right!

Loved this book! Love this series and am itching to get at the next one. I NEED to know what happens. I can't tell you what I'm secretly hoping will happen because that will ruin the ending for you. And that's no fun. But I'm crossing my fingers!

I read this book in no time. I was flipping through the pages to find out if Cassidy would finally make a decision only to find myself on the fence about both boys in the beginning, same as Cassidy. And still wondering what is up with Teagan. I hope there's an answer for that in Book 3.

This book starts right where book 1 left off and you can't help but get pulled into Cassidy's little "dilemma". It's her indecision that keeps you turning the pages.

Holy cow did that just happen right now???? I'm so mad at Cassidy right now. My heart is breaking for poor Gage. He just wants to be with Cassidy, make her happy, and get to know more about her. I don't get why she keeps pushing him away. I know she keeps remembering her dead brother but Gage has nothing to do with that. He doesn't push her to talk about it. He's nothing but perfect to her and understanding. Ok then walks Luca into the picture. I like him ALOT. I see why he's drawn to the smart mouthed Cassidy. She's not afraid to stand up to him. He's not used to a woman like her. But I'm not sure of his intentions for the long run. I'm not sure if he's the right one for Cassidy. But after she walks out on Gage I hate to say it but she might just get what she deserves. Did I like this book? Heck yes! I couldn't put it down. I'm dying to read the next book.

Another great book by Edgewood. Only this time I wanted to strangle Cassidy. Sure what girl doesn't want a hot sexy rock star to fall for them? But when you have a sexy, playful, devoted guy like Gage even sexy rock stars dim in comparison. When the act came to an end I was like seriously? What the hell is wrong with you! The only reason I gave it four stars is because I was so mad with Cassidy and her dumb decisions. Otherwise I loved this book just as much as the other two.

It is hard for me to like the heroine as she is such a tease in this
book. Talk about flighty, irresponsible and immature - I really
feel sorry for Gage.
