Michael's secret is out, job offers are drying up like puddles on a sunny day, and Luke is ready to drag Michael on his next adventure. In better news, Michael's relationship with Kate is just beginning, and a trip with her is starting to sound tempting. When the Cemetery Tours crew goes to investigate Stanton Hall, suspicious activity around the house hints the house is truly haunted, which couldn't make Luke happier. Little does the crew know all that a vengeful ghost can do when you invade their space...
This is the second time I've read this book, and I love it just as much as the first time. I definitely enjoy the first book in the series, but this one is even better. There are shocking twists and turns. Michael and Kate's relationship is adorable. Luke is Luke, and can't help but steal the show.
As with the first book, I love all the main characters. I definitely appreciate getting to see Luke more in this book. Michael is just as sweet and nerdy as before. I love seeing how compassionate and loving he is with Kate. Speaking of Kate, she is a great influence on Michael. She's the perfect character to push him out of her comfort zone, but also kind enough to not push him too far.
The main ghost they are investigating in this book (compared to the last book), is much more terrifying, vengeful, and insane (literally). His actions are shocking and will keep you guessing on what he is going to do next. Even though I can't wait to see him go away, I still feel for him by the end.
The setting being in Maine reminds me of the trip I once took up there. Each time Jackie described part of the setting, I got flashbacks of my visit and it always made me smile. Maine is a great setting for this book, and Jackie did a great job describing it.
This was another great installment in the Cemetery Tours series, and definitely worth reading.
