Sometimes you have to go back before you can move forward …
Aislinn Isobeille McKenna is feeling lost and alone. Recently discharged from serving six consecutive 12-month terms with the US Army, she has no home, no family, and no friends, which is nothing new for her, really. She lives a transitory, vigilante-type lifestyle in shadows, kicking ass and taking names.
At least until she’s attacked from behind and wakes up to find herself in the Scottish highlands six centuries earlier, right in the midst of a clan skirmish.
After saving the life of Laird Lachlan Brodie, he takes her back to his keep to tend to her injuries and get some answers. She’s sure it’s all a dream, especially when things get hot and heavy and very realistic with the sexy Scot, but in what kind of dream does she still have to shave?

I have read both Lost In Time 1 and 2. I am partial to the time travel genre. I have read more than most and I have to say that both of these books are extremely good reads.. I do hope that Ms. Sanders has more stories in the works. I will be looking out for the next Time Travel book she publishes.
Loved this. Very to the point and sometimes abrupt but it wrapped things up quickly and I literally was able to read it poolside over breakfast in a couple hours. Great holiday or road trip read. I'm glad I read Maiden in Manhattan first because this one is so much better it would have made me disappointed in the other. As it is, this was an upward trajectory.
Entertaining characters you wanted to spend more time with. It could have been expanded to a longer book but it's good as is and who knows what would have been lost along the way trying for that.
The sex was a little out of nowhere and rather unrealistically adventurous for a supposed first timer (also there seemed no need for her to be a virgin with the kind of life she had led, quite frankly it would have been near impossible) but, plot acrobatics aside, the ensemble cast was wonderful and one could even do with reading their stories.
I have read all of Abbie Zanders books that I could find and while time travel books are not my favorite, this one and book one were very well written and I enjoyed it very much.
I didn't like this book, not that it isn't written well but the hero didn't have a strong enough character, and the heroine I didn't like at all. I could see this was going to be a soft porn and this is not my type of book
A beautiful love story involving two people born six hundred years apart . This story has lots of sexy love scenes and proved no matter what century you came from, fate will lead you to your soul mate ! This series has all the hallmarks of a funny, lovely couple who don't let the years between them from finding their happiness. A great read ! I PERSONALLY was sorry the series ended !!!
Traveling through time was too easily Ignored /accepted by all the characters. Her experience, esp. as a soldier was never spoken about either. Old Meg screamed and ran upon seeing her naked. The servants would have had a field day with that. The betrothed as usual was spoiled and self centered, no problem leaving. It just needed more. Bright side no typos.
My favorite are Zanders Callaghan series I mentioned this in a review ro explain it's a huge series. And this Highlands series is so amazing and I could read 10 more books in a series about these characters and be so happily entertained. I encourage people to read everything written by Abbie Zanders you won't be able to put them down or be disappointed I know I wasn't,
Raising Hell in the Highlands is a phenomenal read by Abbie Zanders. This fun read finds badass Aislinn attacked from behind and waking up in the Highlands of Scotland, mid-battle. After saving Laird Lachlan Brodie he whisks her away to tend to her injuries. Their story is a fun read. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.
I read a print copy of this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I definitely enjoyed this! It was too short, in my opinion, but definitely enjoyable. I really like aislinn’s character, and I love the way her modern actions are perceived by the highlanders. Fun fun fun, steamy, and fast.
I so enjoy the writing style of this author. This story has fully developed characters and storylines that pull you in and keep you entranced. Its a really good time traveler story albeit not a lengthy story. It's got food family dynamics, battle scene, hot erotic scenes, and definite HEA, hot alpha Laird, and hot sassy lady. What's not to love?
I read this years ago and loved it,can’t say what I still feel is love but I do still like it. Problem with this to me is ,it needs more. I like the idea a whole lot. I adore Aislinn and while Lachlan can be a bit thick headed I liked him too. His brothers though well meaning, I guess,I’m kinda grudging on this because they overstep in a huge way,I’d like to have seen them all kicked in the nuts. Repeatedly with steel toed boots. Vicious ? Hell yeah, but the way they think they know what’s best and sneak around behind both Aislinn and Lachlan’s back to see her away was just F’ed up. My girl basically says screw you and your faux kindness and runs off. I respected that. Ok, what decides on doing when she does is a bit extreme but her heart is broken and Aislinn has has such a rough life at that point it’s just one hurt too much. So I understood. But think this could have been truly great if there had been more leading up to that moment and after. We don’t really get to know Lachlan or his brothers and definitely not his clan or their way of life there. Then when Lachlan find Aislinn and recurs her and brings her back ,most of the hurt of what was a really huge betrayal to me is all dealt with off page. We deserved to see how she got the brothers back for their misguided treachery . I hate when what could have been such a good story is left in the shallow end of the pool. What could have been a story to love and read over and over is just to lacking in depth to ever feel complete. Good story but too light to feel truly complete.
I won this book through Good reads. I wasn't a fan of this genre but this book has changed my mind. Loved it so much I had to read the first one as well. Great book
Aislinn always escaped death but not the ones with her she feels unlucky and wishes for true love and is attacked in the park but wakes up somewhere else. Surrounded by six hot Highlanders she believes she is dreaming so why not do what she wants but the laird talks to her makes compromise with everything. While Aislinn falls in love she is tricked by his brother and runs off. Will she get back or be stuck there without her love in her life.
I did enjoy this novel but their main characters never question who what and how to much and Aislinn never question if she is in another era to her its all dream and almost dead by snake bite but five months pregnant when happens is it even possible to survive but the baby dose. I did over all enjoy the novel and will be reading more by this author.
Wow. How bout a war hardened tough girl soilder landing in the Highlands with a hunk of a laird to wrestle with? Yum... This book was so fun and different. It had sad but had a lot of funny parts and kept me smiling though out the whole thing. I even covered my mouth and while my eyes bugged out of my head. OMG I loved it. I could have kept reading this story forever, why did it have to end? One of my favs.
I picked up this book at lunch time and had it finished before time to make supper. I loved the main character she was so strong and such a fighter. I kind of wish they would have brought some more of her experience to light and it would have shown just how vulnerable yet courageous she really was. It would have made it a much longer book but as it was I was still captured by it. It was definitely worth more than 5 stars to me. Love stories with a HEA.
This story has a very different concept, quite refreshing. I enjoyed having a woman not only able to defend herself but able to use her special training to protect her highlander. The storyline is very well written and will hold your interest. I loved the characters and would have found it even more interesting if at the end the birth was twins. A boy and girl. Highly recommend, a fun read.
This was a cute light read with a HEA yay. From being a team player in the army to being a place going back in time I must be dreaming. To fine the love of your life you must be dreaming. Love the story line never thought about the balance between spaces. have to check out the other side.
I enjoyed this book. It was both funny at times and really brought a hard woman back to being human and felling again. So have it 5 stars for being page turning entertainment. The only thing I felt was, for a very strong and smart woman, that she really need to believe what happened to her. So I'd recommend this book for great read.
Thank you Abbie! I am a member of Amazon Unlimited and was able to read this and all the Callaghan series for free. I have every intention of buying these books to add to my library of books that I love to re-read. You are right up there with my favorite authors like Nora Roberts, Julie Garwood, and Johanna Lindsay!
I don't usually read historical romances, but I've read almost everything else that this author has published, so I decided to give this one a try, along with the companion book, Maiden in Manhattan. I enjoyed both of them, but this one just really took the prize. Loved it and will be watching for more from Abbie Sanders.
I adore romance but don't go in for historical stuff. Looking for something different I opted for time travel. This story was not what I expected. I enjoyed it and if you like historical romance I am sure you will too. Abbie Zanders knows how to craft a good story and whatever your preferred type of romance you are in safe hands choosing one of her books.
loved the story. followed through from first story although I would have like it to include her mom and dad in the beginning for continuity to the first book that I enjoyed also.
Raising Hell in the Highlands by Abbie Zanders 5 stars
Well I liked Maiden in Manhattan but I absolutely loved Raising Hell in the Highlands. Abbie Zanders is one of the best writers I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
