This is a story about the fantasies we have about strange men we've only just met and the steamy things we wish would happen. Only in this case, for Spencer, it comes true. How was he to know that Zack, a full grown man who has come to be his father's farm hand, will give him a passionate night he will remember for a lifetime; a night that will set his world on fire and call him to question everything he thinks about for his future?
Jamie Lake is the author m/m gay romances such as The Trainer, Boyfriend for Rent, Marked for Love, Bad Boy: Naughty at Night, Stay Always and many others.
This was an excellent read, well-written ( with the exception of lied for lay -- that makes a huge difference in meaning at that point in the story.) The pace of the story was gripping, especially as the young man was the narrator. The literary conceit is that the whole story takes place in one day. From the very first word, Mr. Lake embues the text with sexual tension that the narrator is experiencing as he reacts to the farmhand his father hired to help with farm chores. Even at the beginning the reader can feel the sexual dance heat up between Zachary and Spenser. The parents must have been totally clueless to miss the compelling attraction as the story builds towards the evening. Mr. Lake uses wonderful sensory description to bring Spenser's arousal and desperate need into sharp focus. The constant contrasts between the heat and coolness as he describes the scenes of Zachary and of his fantasies about their very much hoped for encounter to come give a depth to this short story that enriches the reading experience. Spenser's need to talk repeatedly about all the acts he wants Zach to do to him shows us his youthful excitement. It's like a litany, he repeats all the sexy, dirty words to reinforce his desires and to will Zach into wanting to take him, unlike the neighborhood guys that no longer mean anything. There's a real man at the ranch! Now that dinner --who thinks that Spenser could get through all that hand action without the parents sussing it out?? Not me, but I loved the scene never the less. I think it was my favorite scene in the story because it was deliciously different. The culminating scene we all expect and it makes Spenser's day ( would have made most anybody's day!) The only criticism I could make was the final scene which was anticlimatic after the fantastic buildup. Not any glow time. Phooey! I loved this story and the reads from Jamie Lake!! Keep the good work coming!! ( I suppose you can tell I taught college lit for 30 years. French, not English. Now I can read what I enjoy!!) B. Black I could have said it was so damnable hot etc. But I thought it deserved a real review. But it was HOT!
This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.
Basically, I was curious. Erotica is hit or miss for me, but I've never read a M/M erotica before. So when I won Do Me, Tonight on audio by Jamie Lake, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to get my feet wet. And it wasn't bad. It didn't blow me away, but it was okay.
I think one of my biggest problems with Do Me, Tonight was actually more the general problem I often have with shorts than because it was M/M - it was way too fast. And in an erotica it kind of intensifies the problem because one second the guys meet and the next, they're getting busy. But I do have to give Jamie Lake credit - it wasn't THAT instantaneous. We have four chapters total in Do Me, Tonight and it wasn't until the fourth chapter until things really happened.
But I saw potential in this and I think I could actually end up really enjoying M/M erotica if it's full length and has a solid story (as with all erotica, I don't like it as much when it's JUST sex). I think my enjoyment of Do Me, Tonight was increased by the narration - the voices were pretty good and varied. I think, if it were longer, I would have gotten pretty comfortable with Keanu Vincente.
All-in-all, not a bad first time venture into a new-to-me genre. I probably won't be reading bunches of M/M erotica but I won't avoid it anymore either.
This was amazing. Hot, Sexy, and exciting short novel by Jamie Lake that gives a new meaning to LUST at first sight. The story concentrates on Spencer, a 18 year old man who is very sexually active, but hasn't been with a "real man". Parents hire a new ranch hand, Zack, and Spencer falls immediately in lust for him. Story heats up immediately with a very experienced man wanting Spencer through his dominant nature and advances. You have to read the book. It is fast moving, Hot, and totally what each man needs and wants. I loved the ending along with the erotic , dominant man who definitely knows how to treat a man. Spencer wants Zack and Zack wants Spencer and so does everyone reading this book. Great Read..Don't miss this one..maybe there will be a follow up. Jamie just gets better and better. Brilliant writer that touched the heart .
This one was very, very hot indeed! Hotter than the weather in my tropical country. (lol) I'm giving 5 stars for the delectable mischief and the tingling-your-whole-body buttseck, albeit a little nitpicking on some of the comparisons... which I can live with. :)
The long tongue remark reminded me briefly of this:
Don't mind my corrupted brain working overtime~ Anyone a fan of the game/film? :D
Well! I won this as an audible book and wow, just wow! SexY and hot with a dose of lust! And lust at first sight. With an 18 year old with ragging hormones but has never found a real man....oh yea throw in some dominance and fireworks start. Into is family ranch come a ranch hand that he falls hard and fast for and then the story takes off. I struggle with reviews because I want to give you the whole story but knowing you need to read it for yourself...or in this case listen. The chemistry flow from the first paragraph and just gets hotter! Loved it and so ready for my next read...Mmmmm
This was a quick fun listen. If you are looking for something believable this is probably not for you but to me being believable wasn't the point. Its a good, fast, sexy audio book for mm lovers.
