Weightlessness: How Shaolin Monks, Thai Hookers, Ex-Cons, and "Magic" Mushrooms Taught Me to Live with Power, Passion, and Freedom

Rate this book
Weightlessness is the personal mind-body odyssey of peak performance trainer and founder of Weightlessness, Tom Fazio, and his paradigm shifting discoveries on peak performance and the tools and principles required to unburden ourselves of all that holds us back. This book lays the foundation for a non-dogmatic, no nonsense approach to rapid mind and body development and peak performance. It does so from the ground up, allocating each of four sections

Part 1: The Pheonix deals with the psychology of personal development as well as the origin of Weightlessness training.

Part 2: Enso Temple delves deeply into the principles of physical transformation, strength, nutrition, flexibility, peak performance, and lean body mass through the real stories of client transformation.

Part 3: The Unfettered Mind examines principles of qigong, mindfulness, and embracing randomness as key tools for peace, concentration, and energy development.

Part 4: In Weightlessness Tom unfolds his treatise on peak performance and tapping humanities fullest potentials.

The advice herein identifies the prime movers of physical transformation and meditation in ways that challenge the status quo. And it will likely be as shocking at parts as it is insightful at others.

What do Olympic athletes, billionaire entrepreneurs, and spiritual leaders all have in common?

Weightlessness is my personal odyssey of grueling self-exploration and aggressive physical experimentation. It’s a real life account of my experiences across the world, and my quest to see exactly how far we can push ourselves to awaken humanities greatest potentials. Walk with me as I bleed for an ounce of insight, as I celebrate fringe personas and experiences, and as I test the mental and physical limits of myself and my dedicated fitness clients.

If you can stomach it, I’ll take you with me through the trenches of mind and body fitness. We’ll explore principles of peace, power, and enlightenment under the iron fists of shaolin monks, high on hallucinogenic mushrooms, amid unexpected homelessness, and through random dice-dictated experiments.

You hold in your hands the tools for achieving complete mind and body integration. Weightlessness is a no-nonsense roadmap to performing on par with the world’s most successful people.

Be Weightless.

The concept of unity of mind and body is an ancient one practiced, as Tom Fazio describes, particularly by Shaolin Monks, among many others. However, even though we are aware of the multiple benefits that the unity of body and mind can provide us, going about obtaining such a state is another matter altogether.

That is why Tom has developed the Weightlessness program which he describes in detail in his book.

Weightlessness not only provides the key elements to obtaining unity of mind and body, but also how to obtain peak performance through it, mirroring the performances of highly successful people, be they athletes, billionaires, or spiritual leaders. This is truly a detailed roadmap that provides many useful and practical guides in order to help us reach a better state, and thus a better version of ourselves.

There are many powerful words that really resonated with me throughout the book, in particular the thought that we are at war with ourselves, walking a tightrope between freedom and bondage.
Overcoming this is the core idea that has remained with me long after reading Weightlessness.
