Marrying the new All-Star slugger for convenience wasn’t in Audrey’s plans… at all.
None of Audrey’s friends know that she’s the daughter of the Orlando Wild’s owner, or that she made a costly deal with her dad to protect her friends from getting fired for dating players in the team. But now her controlling father has come to collect on her side of the bargain.
Audrey must marry in order to receive her inheritance, or her friends can kiss the team bye bye.
Enter Miguel, the hottest acquisition the team has ever made. The All-Star and record breaking slugger is new in town and his daughter, Marty, hasn’t forgiven him for the move. He did it for her, but no matter what he does, he’s always reminded that being a single dad is his most important and toughest job.
Case in Marty can’t join her new school’s mom and daughter tradition, because she doesn’t have a mom.
Marty’s seen something about carpeting the diem so she comes up with a great idea. Maybe Miguel and Audrey should just get married for convenience. The plan will be a Wild Hit, right?
Wild Hit is a dual POV closed door romance with mild language and plenty of heat without spice, perfect for those who enjoy their marriages of convenience with a big dose of golden retriever x black cat, found families, and grand gestures. It’s the third and last book in the Wild Baseball Romance series and can also be read as a standalone.
Noone knows that Audrey is the daughter of Orlando Wild's owner and she would rather keep it that way. But after making a deal with her father to save her best friends' work, he demands that she goes public. She also needs to get married in order to get her inheritance. Miguel, the new player, has his own problems. He switched teams and moved for his daughter Marty's sake, but being a single dad is a tough job. Especially when Marty's sad over not being able to attend the school's mother-and-daughter event, since she's not got a mom. Maybe Audrey and Miguel can help each other by getting fake married?
This is the third and final book in the series and I've put off reading it because I didn't want to leave the baseball team and the wonderful characters! I love the found family vibes from the team and staff, how they support and push each other, without expecting anything in return. I also like fake dating/marriage; even if you know the outcome, it's fun to tag along for the ride!
We get dual POV, so we know when they start to have real feelings for one another. It's a bit frustrating to see Audrey belittle herself, but it's also human. I don't always enjoy stories with a single parent, but I love Marty, and Miguel is a great dad (although she doesn't agree!). I really liked the interactions between Audrey and Marty too. They felt very natural, even though Audrey felt unsure in her role as a "mother". One of my favorite scenes were definitely the mother-and-daughter event at school!
There are no explicit scenes in Mari Loyal's books, but the romance is still HOT! If you feel uncomfortable reading about more than a few kisses you might want to avoid them, otherwise I highly recommend her books if you like romance!
* I received an ARC from the author and I'm giving my honest review. *
Final book in the Wild Baseball Series, Miguel and Audrey's story
If you’re a fan of: 📚 Sports romance 📚 Marriage of convenience 📚 Characters with big hearts and real struggles
This book surprised me in the best way. I went in expecting a fun sports romance, and I got that—but I also got so much heart. 💜
The marriage of convenience trope is always a favorite, but what stood out here was how genuine the characters felt. The single-dad baseball player wasn’t just charming on the field, he was vulnerable, determined, and completely devoted to his little one (cue the swoons 🥹). And the heroine? Smart, strong, and not afraid to stand her ground. Together, they had sparks that lit up every page.
What I loved most: the balance of playful banter, emotional depth, and that warm, “rooting for their happily ever after” feeling. ⚾️💍
If you’re craving a sweet yet swoony romance with a side of baseball, this one’s definitely worth a swing
Thank you @mariloyalauthor and @wordnerdauthorservices @wordnerdbookworm for this ARC
Last book in the Wild Baseball series and Mari Loyal did it again. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down and I was a little disappointed that Lucky wasn't the MMC, but after reading it I can say that Audrey and Miguel were destined.
I liked that all the other characters from the other books had a part in what was the story of the Machados.
The connection that Marty and Audrey had was so beautiful and so genuine. Despite not being mother and daughter, they could share so many things and get along so well.
Miguel, the man you are, I always loved his POV because he was drooling over Audrey from the beginning.
I didn't see the plot twist of this story coming, I mean, I thought Audrey's dad would do one thing and end up doing something else, but I liked it. It hurts to say goodbye to these characters that I loved so much.
It doesn't have spice but it doesn't need it, they are very cute and full of tension between the characters.
It’s an MOC, and the FMC has my name!? Of course it’s a favorite!
I adored the relationship that Audrey and Marty formed. It was the perfect way to get Miguel and Audrey together. And the little comments that Marty made, and the way she was so confident that they were made for each other … 🫠
Miguel was the perfect MMC with how he pined for Audrey, and the touch her (or speak poorly of her) and die vibes were the best!
I loved how things ended with both Vos and Mr. Cox, best outcome for both of them!
Thank you so much for my ARC copy, Mari! I cannot wait for Lucky’s story!
I LOVED this story. The found family vibes with the baseball team and the trio of girl friends from each book in the series? Perfection. The strangers to friends to more trope? Exquisite. Miguel is such a golden retriever... and Audrey is his black cat. I loved how their story unfolded. Audrey had to learn to accept help (and love) without guilt, and Miguel had to learn to fight for what he wants (aka Blondie). Miguel was also such a devoted dad; how could you not swoon over him?! This was the last book in the series, and I thought its conclusion was well done. Highly recommend for baseball romance fans, just check the content warnings first!
Mari Loyal’s sports romances are always so easy to read! I love the dynamic and banter between the core group of guys on the Orlando Wild. It’s always so fun to read a book where there are great found family (or traditional family) interactions along with the romance! I also loved the relationship Audrey had with Marty, Miguel’s daughter. Miguel was super protective of both his girls which was adorable.
There’s a lot of baseball in this book which is fun for a baseball enthusiast like me! But I did have to suspend a little bit of reality about baseball a few times but overall a great book!
Content wise - closed door but with innuendo and makeouts. Mild swearing throughout.
I received an ebook from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Audrey works in PR for the Orlando Wild, but she has a secret. Her father bought the Orlando Wild, a man she’s been estranged with for most of her adult life. Audrey even went so far as changing her last name. When two of her friend’s jobs are in danger, Audrey bargains with him— she will change her last name back to his, marry a man he approves of, attend events with him, and accept her inheritance. In exchange, her friends get to keep their jobs.
Miguel Machado is the best batter in the majors and he’s about to start his first season with Orlando Wild. His decision to leave Colorado left many people scratching their heads, but Miguel did what he thought was best for his daughter, Marty. His daughter seems to be hitting it off with the next door neighbor, Audrey, who just so happens to work for the Wild.
When Audrey’s dad tries to set her up with a man she cannot stand, Audrey agrees to a wild idea— Miguel suggests a marriage of convenience. Miguel will marry Audrey to keep her out of a toxic marriage and in exchange, Audrey will bring Marty to her school’s mother/daughter tea event so she doesn’t feel so isolated. Seems easy enough. As the three begin to spend time together, the lines begin to blur.

Listen.. I am entirely biased towards Mari Loyal for being the author responsible for dragging me into baseball romance in the first place, with the dedication this time 100% enough to make a grown dault cry (in this case, tearing up). But I'll try my super best not to be biased in this review because this was received as an advanced e-arc, and I just really want to show off how you can't go wrong with the entire Wild series.
Honestly, I didn't think anyone could top Logan and Rose's story (which was my favourite wild mashup ever), but Wild Hit took it to the extreme when the "fake dating" from the previous two books gets a major upgrade to literally MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE!! I'm a sucker for that trope and to be fair, I had a taste of the dynamics and was actively intrigued to read their dynamics. Audrey is the definition of the girl who bottles up everything and puts others before her needs, which makes her a perfect match for Miguel's attitude of sunshine and golden retriever who deserves the world and wants to share it with her.
Marty is also a tad above average wing girl, who goes straight to the point (a fresh nudge from the usually younger wing-kids I've read about for their parents). It's sweet to see the bonds form, and there's no third-act breakup, legitimate drama minus her dad and the bastard that shall not be named >:( (thanks to Audrey being PR trained and with the other girls providing experiences, probably prevented literal escalation BAHA) and mostly sticking to the navigation storyline of learning to feel that people do deserve that win, that happiness that every character chases after both in the fictional and real world.
What I really appreciate in this book is how Miguel becomes Audrey's safe place and vice versa (it's sweet because it's a hit straight to the chest when it's the feeling of "love, yes, oh wow, WOW ok I'm in for the long run-) Miguel knows what he wants and is another consensual king (who hilariously got roped into a brotherhood for the sake of his little girl) while being slightly funny flirt who sometimes don't seem to understand the effect he has on people due to how goddam humble he is- also their meet cute is adorably hilarious and one for the books really. One thing that sets him slightly different from his usual stereotype of "sunshine defender" is the fact that he has anxiety and the fear of "things are going really well, when is the other foot going to drop". I really wish this were focused on more, alongside Audrey's character development, because he has the potential to be more than just the parent who wants the best for their kid and also wants to protect his girls and loved ones from the world.
Audrey had the usual character development, but surprisingly, her dad was a player I didn't realise was involved (in the sense that his involvement is what stuck out most in her arc). Don't get me wrong, he had been set out as a bad guy this whole time, so the turnover rate was quite fast book-wise (I thought it'd be over the span of the book, but it felt quite abrupt when it cuts to later). Communication is key guys, and this book is pretty straight to the point, a nice little home read and picture-perfect ending of all our girls running to their boys (damm would pay for a print of that exact scene).
Highly recommend reading not just this book, but all three in order to get the full effect of the gang and the really strong found family ties! Thanks once again for the arc and I'm bouncing to wait for Lucky's next!!
📚 𝗣𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗽𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁 Audrey’s inheritance comes with one unusual condition: she must marry Miguel, the new All-Star slugger, or risk her friends losing their livelihoods. What begins as a bargain marriage quickly becomes something more profound, as Audrey and Miguel—him a devoted single dad with old wounds, her a loyal friend willing to face her past—learn to navigate family expectations, quiet heartaches, and the surprising pull of love, between first-kiss sparks, found-family warmth, and the question of what “home” really means, their story blooms in the most tender, unexpected ways.
🖋️ 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲 The story carries emotional depth and a gentle, slow-burning rhythm in dual POV. It’s layered with humor, family bonds, and authentic tension, while staying firmly in the “closed-door romance” lane. Expect sunshine-meets-grump energy, endearing grand gestures, and heartwarming found-family moments.
❤️ 𝗠𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 & 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 Miguel’s devotion to his daughter Marty completely won me over (she’s delightfully sassy and her one-liners had me laughing out loud). Audrey’s fierce loyalty to her friends shone through, even pushing her to reconnect with her estranged father, which added a layer of vulnerability I appreciated. The chemistry between Audrey and Miguel felt genuine, and I loved how Audrey’s kindness extended so naturally to Marty, making their bond extra sweet. The marriage-of-convenience trope was handled with care, Miguel’s respect for Audrey was refreshing, and the found-family vibes gave this story so much warmth. What happened to Lucky Rivera’s has me already looking forward to what’s next!
🤔 𝗔 𝗙𝗲𝘄 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 While I connected more deeply with Wild Catch because of its emotional pull, Wild Hit was still a cozy, heartfelt continuation that left me smiling.
📚 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 💍 Marriage-of-convenience stories with heart 💞 Closed-door romances that still spark ⚾️ Sports romances with depth and warmth 🏡 Cozy small-town vibes with authentic family dynamics
🔍 Advisory Notes Spice: Innuendo • Romance: Heated Kisses • Language: Mild (sh*t) Content: Male MC has anxiety, female MC experiences harassment from another character, mild violence, and alcohol use
This book had me captivated from page one all the way through the end. It was such a good story with great banter, swoony moments, and the NEST kisses!
I loved watching Audrey take charge of her life. She had been hiding behind a big secret, afraid of the repercussions, and she finally learns to step into her own and figures out how to have everything she wants in her life.
Miguel just wants to provide a good life for his daughter and I love seeing how he makes that happen, no matter how “cringe” he might be. He has not lived an easy life and yet he continues to be a ray of sunshine for everyone around him.
Audrey and Miguel together is magic. They are SO good for each other, right from the very start, and they only get better with time. As any good marriage of convenience story goes, of course there are feelings involved right from the start and I loved seeing how that all played out with mutual grand gestures as well as all the tiny moments.
Marty is the best kid character! She is likeable, even though she can be a bit spiky at moments. When she finally stood up to some of her bullies, it was pure genius. “If you don’t like me at my black, you don’t deserve me at my pink” was one of my favorite lines in the entire book.
This marriage of convenience, black cat/golden retriever, baseball romance is the 3rd book in the Wild Baseball Romance series and has climbed its way to the top of my leaderboard for this series. It is for sure a Wild Hit!
Note: Although closed-door, there are a few descriptive makeout scenes, some innuendo, and moderate swearing - no f-bombs but plenty of other language. They’re professional athletes and talk like stereotypical professional athletes on and off the field.
Synopsis: Audrey kept her family a secret from her friends for a long time, trying to keep her father, the owner of the Orlando Wilds, far away from her. My Opinion: This was a great way to end the series, and I believe this one was my favorite. The characters are awesome, the plot is very nice and fun to follow, and the tension is always perfect. I love marriage of convenience romances, and the way this story was told and how the plot was built for the marriage was a great way to do this trope. It really helped me to connect to each character, to understand their motives and their personalities, and to root for them even more. Audrey is amazing and her relationship with Marty was so cute and natural, such a delight to read. Miguel should not be on my book boyfriends list. He is my new book husband. Miguel is a treasure and everything we dream of in a fictional male character, with such grace, strength, and kindness. And don’t get me started on the chemistry. Mari knocks it out of the park (here’s one baseball pun for you) once again on the tension and romance on the page. Seriously. Chapter 29. That’s all I’m gonna say, iykyk. I’m so glad and honored to be able to see Mari’s writing getting better and better, and I can only see a brighter future ahead of her. Do yourself a favor and read this book.
*I received a free review copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.*
I tend to enjoy all sports romance, but lately, the baseball romances have definitely taken center stage for me... and this series has played a big part in that! Mari Loyal has once again knocked it completely out of the park with a baseball romance that is packed with equal parts chemistry, heart and humor. Throw in a single dad with a sassy daughter that is impossible not to adore, complicated family dynamics, and a marriage of convenience and this one absolutely hooked me right from the start! Miguel and Audrey were so good together--- so much chemistry and when he gets protective!? Oh my goodness, it was so good. If you love a good 'touch her and die' or 'hands off my wife' moment, well, this one will absolutely deliver on both. Miguel most certainly is protective of BOTH of his girls...and I loved it! In addition to the romance, I love the sense of found family with the team dynamics. Truly, I can't get enough of this group of players... and the women who love them! If you love sports romance, this is certainly one not to be missed!
Wild Hit is a closed-door romance with kisses only. They kisses do get a bit heated and it does have some innuendo and language throughout as well. It is the third book in the Wild Baseball Romance series, and while previous characters do make appearances, I do think this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
"Wild Hit" by Mari Loyal is the 3rd book in the "Wild Baseball Romance" series, but it can be read as a standalone.
I received an e-ARC from the author. Opinions from this review are completely my own.
What you can expect: - sports romance (baseball) - fake dating - marriage of convenience - golden retriever x black cat - single dad - found family - dual POV - closed door romance
Audrey works for the Orlando Wild baseball team and her father is the owner. She needs to get married to get her inheritance and to make sure her friends don't loose their job. Miguel is the new player for the team and Audrey's neighbour. He also has a cute daughter, Marty.
Just like all the books in this series, this is a cute romance with lovable characters. I love the friendship between Audrey, Rose and Hope. Also, the guys in the team immediately got along with Miguel and helped him.
The romance develops very nice, from the funny meet cute to friendship and then falling in love. Even if this is closed door, there is kissing and some innuendo. They have chemistry and he is so protective.
This book is part of the “Wild Baseball” series and this was the first one from the series that I have read. There were certain parts, especially in the beginning, that I felt a little lost when it came to the characters/references from the previous books. I don’t feel like having read the other books first would change my opinion of the premise of this story, but it may have all felt more complete. There were several references to things that I think were supposed to be LOL but again, I may be missing not knowing the context. As far as a fake marriage trope goes, I loved how a whole group of people are in on the ruse of Audrey and Miguel’s fake marriage. Typically, it seems like the main characters are hiding it from everyone, but there is a whole team of people helping with this scheme. I never felt like I had a good connection to Audrey. At times she felt very independent, others kind of needing validation, and I had a hard time understanding her relationship with her father. I liked Miguel and his sweet daughter. I appreciated how hard he was working to give her a normal life and make her happy. Overall, I enjoyed the story, I just felt some disconnect from certain pieces. I think if you are a fan of Mari’s other books you will like this one too. Thank you to Mari for the advanced copy of this book.
As always, Mari Loyal has written an incredible, funny, heartfelt story! I have been loving her Wild Baseball romance series and this final book definitely delivered!
Miguel was the perfect cinnamon roll single dad! He definitely fell first and hard, and his selflessness for both his daughter and Audrey was so heartwarming. Audrey's friendship with his daughter was adorable and Mari wrote their chemistry perfectly.
I always love a good marriage of convenience and this one was no exception. I loved how perfectly their attraction grew to love as the story progressed!
It was so fun to see the rest of the Orlando Wild team again and I am excited to see what's next in this world!
I highly recommend this one if you're looking for a sports romance that isn't one of the typical ones! I don't really watch baseball much in real life, but I've really enjoyed it in this series. This book is closed door, but with plenty of innuendo and heat. Perfect for readers of all spice levels!
Thank you Mari for the opportunity to read and review early!
Audrey has a secret. Not only is she an heiress, but her father owns the Wild and she cut a deal with him to help her two best friends keep their jobs. And now he wants to call in that deal to have her marry a man she loathes. Enter Miguel, the Wild's star slugger and Audrey's new neighbor. Is a marriage of convenience to him her ticket out of her mess?

Miguel and Audrey have my whole heart. From their Meet Cute turned Meet Hideous (black eye, anyone?) to the way they fit perfectly into the other's whole life (from baseball to romance to domestic bliss), this one had me swooning from start to finish. Except for the jump scare Mari gave me over Lucky. But even that had its sweet moments. This is such a great series and if you're not already reading it, you should be.
Mari has become a favorite closed door author for me. I love her characters & how they display all the feels and angst without going into detail.
This whole series has been so fun! I’ve loved meeting all of the players and Miguel’s no different.
Audrey is PR for the baseball team and has no idea the role the new player is about to have in her life.
Miguel’s a single dad who’s got his daughter’s best interest at heart. He’s committed to making sure she has a normal life and enjoys her childhood.
I adore Miguel. He comes off very quiet and laid back, but underneath that.. he’s got some touch her and 💀vibes. Which I’m 1000000% there for.
Marty is hilarious! Her personality reminds me so much of my oldest and I just love it.
There’s a glossary in the back, which was awesome to have while reading when I didn’t know what some of the Spanish words meant. Could I have googled it? Yes. But having it readily available in the back of the book was *chefs kiss*
I think this just became my favorite book of the series. It is so sweet and heartwarming, but also has some swoony and sizzling moments! In this story we follow Audrey (who is smart, independent, and secretly the daughter of the team owner) and Miguel (who is genuine, an insanely talented baseball player, and a devoted single dad).
The dynamic between Audrey, Miguel, and Miguel's ten year old daughter, Marty, is completely adorable. I love the way Miguel loves his daughter and the way his daughter bonds with Audrey. There is some great flirty banter, but also some lovely, tender moments.
You had me at marriage of convenience sports romance! We even get a few "my wife" moments. 🤌🏼

Spoilers!! Book Three! 💜⚾️ This was such a good book! It may be my favorite in the series yet! This was my first single dad (I’m pretty sure lol) and I like this trope!! The friendship. The fake marriage turns into a real marriage. The banter. Miguel’s daughter Marty is a hoot! And Consuelo the nanny is really just the grandmother of the equation. Had me laughing. Full body chills. Gasping during the games 🤣 I felt like I was at a game or watching it on tv! Now I can’t wait for Lucky’s story!! If you love baseball. And all the things above, go get yourself this book! You won’t be disappointed!! Out NOW and on KU! Part of Wild Baseball Romance series. Can also be read as a standalone, but could give a bit of spoilers for previous books.

What happens when a baseball superstar, a strong-willed heroine, and a sassy daughter team up for a marriage of convenience? You get Wild Hit—a heartwarming, swoony romance that hits all the right notes.
This story surprised me in the best way. Audrey, the daughter of the team’s owner, makes a bargain that forces her into a marriage she never expected. Miguel, the newest All-Star slugger, is a single dad who would do anything for his daughter, Marty (who absolutely stole the show). Together, these three create a story that’s both tender and laugh-out-loud fun.
I loved the banter, the sparks between Audrey and Miguel, and Miguel’s protective streak (if you love those “touch her and die” moments—you’re in for a treat ). The team dynamic and found family vibes gave this book extra heart, and the romance was sweet, swoony, and full of warmth—all without spice.
Mari Loyal was a new-to-me author, but this book definitely made me a fan. If you love sports romance, golden retriever x black cat dynamics, and happily-ever-afters that make you cheer, Wild Hit is one you don’t want to miss.
ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Wild Hit by @mariloyalauthor was so fun to read! I loved the dynamic between Miguel and Audrey! It was so fun and sweet. Miguel was the best cinnamon roll hero and also a cinnamon roll single dad. He was so good to his daughter and I love how unapologetically worried he was about her all the time. He was so also sweet to Audrey and I loved how he quickly added her to "under his protection". Audrey was a fun and feisty heroine. I loved the deeper side we saw of her and how loyal she was to her friends. The way that her and Miguel became friends first really set the ground work for a great relationship and it was so well done! And Marty. She was a great character. I loved the sassy goth princess and the friendship she developed with Audrey. Watching her cheer her dad and Audrey on was so sweet If you like closed door sports romcoms, you will love this one!
Audrey and Miguel find themselves in an interesting friendship that starts with a very funny meet cute. From page 1, we are just immersed into the golden retriever that is Miguel. He loves, cares, and protects everything that’s his. Our black cat, Audrey, wants to believe that she can have it all but refuses to allow herself to believe that good things can happen to her. ❤️
While this is the 3rd book in the series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. But you’ll find yourself wanting to go back and read the others because these characters are wonderful!
Another fantastic installment of the Wild Baseball Romance series. The Fake marriage trope doesn't often do much for me but this was executed beautifully. The reasons for it were believable, and their whole dynamic was beautiful.
Audrey's thoughts at times about herself I felt like slapping her around the head, I hope by the end of this she knows her own worth truly and fully. I had my instincts for her and her dad's relationship and I'm so glad I was correct it rounded things off really well.
Marty is a great kid and Miguel is the biggest golden retriever of a man I think I've ever met in a book and I am here for it fully and wholeheartedly.
Plot or Character Driven: A mix Strong character development: Yes Loveable characters: Yes Diverse cast of characters: Yes Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes
Loved this book so much! I've been impatiently waiting for the next installment of this series and I can't wait for Lucky's book next. This book was such a fun & lighthearted read and I'm sad that this is where the series ends (though we'll be seeing more of the characters). Mari Loyal writes such good found family and I'm so excited for the next series she decides to write!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Who doesn’t love single dad romances especially when you through some fake marriages in there? I absolutely love these two together. Miguel would literally do anything for his daughter which is absolutely amazing. And it is so good that he finally got his happy ever after. I love Miguel and Audrey together. I love how Audrey would do anything for her friends. I wish this book was longer because I wasn’t ready for this book to end yet
This is a sweet rom-com with some heavy themes. A single dad with a preteen daughter. Cheesiness typical to the genre. A mostly believable marriage-of-convenience. I enjoyed it, rounded up from 3.5 stars.
There are a few mild swears and an intense make out sesh, but this book is cleaner than I expected from the author's warning! And even with all the yearning and flirting, I felt that the focus was still way more on their actual feelings and friendship rather than all lust.
THE BEST PART! This book contains more *actual baseball* than previous sports romances I've read. I still would have liked more, but I'll take what I can get!!!!
Can be read as a standalone though I def want to go back and read the first two.
#gifted e-arc from @mariloyalauthor and @wordnerdauthorservices
I saved this book to read while the MLB post season games were happening. It was nice to be reading about a baseball team trying to win the big prize while watching actual teams on the same journey.
I enjoyed that we got both perspectives from Audrey and Miguel. Miguel won me over right away with his love for his daughter and desire to keep Audrey safe and protected.
While this book is the third in a series, you can read it as a stand alone. The side characters are delightful and the HEA is just perfection.
Thank you to @mariloyalauthor for the advanced reader copy.
I have a few mixed feelings about this book. I was warned when I signed up to do an ARC review that there was some language and innuendo, but there was more than I was expecting. Definitely not a story for younger readers. I also got confused about some of the baseball aspects, as I'm not a huge baseball fan. However, I loved Audrey, Miguel, and Marty. This overall was a good story, and I really enjoyed the timeline of it.
