I most often compare my work to Twilight meets 50 Shades (my vampires in Cora's Choice are more dark and angsty, and the S/M elements grow more and more pronounced as the series progresses), but the names that readers most often mention are Anne Rice and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
In Cora's Choice, Cora's Bond, and the following series, I wanted to show a heroine's journey from ordinary girl to someone super tough. This is a journey of months--years, even. So many stories start with an Anita Blake-type, able to kick ass and take names from the first we meet her. I thought it would be awesome and really interesting to show someone becoming that person through tiny changes that build on each other.

I’m starting with the must knows first :) This is a serial, and for those who don’t understand what that is: it is like a tv show with several episodes and this one has 7 books. You must read them in order to understand, and you probably will scream when or where it ends :) Good news :) All episodes are out and no waiting is required :) Some authors do serials really well and V.M. Black is one of them. I say this because even though it is a whole book by itself, I think it is an art to pick just the right place to end where it does feel like you made the reader walk into a wall to stop the story. She ends at a good place where you have a little closure, but you definitely know there is more and want to read it :) This of course is for adults only because it has some very steamy scenes. This bundle has the first 3 books (parts, episodes, whatever you want to call them) in it :)
Taken - Book 1
Levi and Harper are two great characters :) Harper is strong and won’t let anyone taken anything from her, and she is adventurous :) I love her spunky attitude and that she keeps surprising Levi with the unexpected :) Levi is sexy and sort of mysterious, and of course Harper doesn’t realize why she is so taken with him other than she has a thing for bad boys :)
This episode is smoldering with awesome adventure and action :) I can’t wait for more :)
Pursuit - Book 2
Levi and Harper are both still unsure about trusting each other, but both feel this uncharacteristic pull towards each other and are just going with it. I know this episode is supposed to be longer, but boy was it over quick. I think it felt that way for me because I was so engrossed into the story. Tons of action, gunfire, car chases, and more.
Flight - Book 3
Definitely lots of action and some steamy bits :) So adults only!! Levi and Harper are still on a mission, and they are not having much luck. Of course they are messing things up with each other making me yell at the book. I’m hoping they get it together :)
Haven - Book 4
Well, this one did not have as much action as the others did, V.M. spoiled me into expecting it…lol! It is still very enjoyable, and you definitely learn more about Levi. There of course is still all sorts of sexual tension.
Escape - Book 5
There is more action in this one than the last book, but most of this book was more Levi/Harper issues. Wow is all I can say, but you have to read it to see what I mean :) I’m hoping for a HEA ending :) Also Beane makes an appearance in this book if you have been reading the Taken by the Panther serial, you know who I mean :)
Freed - Book 6
It is completely published at this time which is a good thing or I might have thrown my reader with the ending of this book (major cliffhanger which would break my kindle), but thankfully I’m reading it next… like in 5 minutes.
I really love Harper and Levi, and as much as I want to know what happens, I also don’t want it to end. I love all the action and the steamy scenes :) V.M. is awesome with the details, and I can see everything happening as I read :) I love when a story engages my imagination in my mind…don’t you :)
Finale - Book 7
This book was jam packed full of excitement and steamy sex scenes. I really love Harper’s ability to talk her way out of anything :) Both of them would do anything for each other, and I find that really sexy :) Their ability to have sex in some of the most dangerous of situations amazes me, and it’s very ballsy.
So this ended way too quickly for me, but I loved every moment. I really hope that we will get to see more of both of them in future books by V.M. because I want to know what happens next and does Harper get what she wants. V.M. is an amazing story teller and her vivid writing bring everything to life.
V.M. does a great job with the descriptions. I can see everything happening in my head and get sucked right into the story.
I recommend this serial to all my wolf lovin’ friends especially if you are already a fan of V.M. Black. Off to read the next one :)

I enjoyed the Alpha's Captive Bundle, it was nice to be able to read the entire series at once without having to wait or switch books. This was definitely a fun series with the back and forth between the hero and heroine combined with the action and sexy times makes it a must read. The first book is a bit slow but definitely picks up towards the end and becomes awesome as the series continues. It's a wonderful read for any werewolf lover or fan of action with romance.

This was fluff but it was free on BookBub! Lots of action! Levi and Harper are running from a vampire. The title is misleading-while Levi is a werewolf, he's not the Alpha and Harper, a human, isn't his captive. What I didn't care for was the cliffhanger at the end!

A ginormous heaping of instalove here - and I do mean ginormous. A marriage proposal after THREE DAYS ginormous. I'm too cynical about marriage to consider that romantic in any way. I don't believe in this fated crap people pull. If you're going to be together forever, there's no point in rushing, is there?
I also got annoyed by the sheer amount of times the heroine stopped to apply lipgloss. You're on the run, from people who will kill you if they catch you. Can you stop being such a princess about your makeup looking good?
I'm not sure I liked her all that much in truth. For all her car repairing know how, she seemed very high maintenance. I mean, who the fuck wears four inch Jimmy Choos to a heist? What if you have to run?
I enjoyed the story though. It was light and entertaining. The writing was decent with minimal errors and balanced humour/action/sex well. An easy and fun read and god knows I need more easy and fun in my life right now.

Taken #1
Exciting! Harper gets a flat tire, and while changing the tire a hot biker stops to help. What she doesn't know is that Levi has something other than changing tires on his mind. After the tire is changed, Levi tells Harper is taking her car and leaves her on the side of the road. What Levi doesn't know is that Harper is far from helpless. She gets his bike started and chases him down. They find an old barn and after a very hot bout of sex on there hood of her car, the barn doors are blown off by the bad guys. After helping Levi escape Harper is convinced they need to stay together, even though she saw him change into a wolf.
Pursuit #2
Car chases and gun fire! Harper and Levi are on the run from the vampire's goons. After driving for a while they oull off the interstate for gas and a different car. They happen to be in an area where a member of Harpers family has a cabin and they can go there to make plans. First they need an SD card reader,ammo and food. They go to the local superstore and are tracked there by the vampire's minions, needless to say mayhem insues. Harper's car ends up in the river as a result of a car chase. They manage to make it to the opposite bank of the river and thing get really hot.
Flight #3
Hot Sex and Carjacking! Levi carries Harper along the bank of the river in his wolf form until Harper spots the dock that belongs to the family cabin. They find that the SD card is not damaged but the river destroyed the reader. While in the bathroom cleaning up, the water isn't the only thing that gets hot. Levi realizes that his feelings for Harper are deeper than he is comfortable with and leaves her to sleep while he patrols outside the cabin and hunts. The next morning they walk to a nearby truck stop. Harper gets supplies and flirts a guy into giving her and Levi a ride. While traveling down the road Levi changes back into his human form and makes the guy driving pull over so they can take his car. Had to giggle at the carjacking method, I think this makes the book even better.
Haven #4
Kidnapping and Roadblocks! Still on the run with the police looking for Harper, a kidnap victim, and Levi the dangerous fugitive. After finding out the SD card can't be read with the equipment she bought, Harper and Levi head toward West Virginia and Levi's tech friend. A road block at the state border has them stealing a motorcycle from the cops manning the checkpoint. After riding through the woods they make it to Levi's tech friend. They go into the old underground military installation and are hopeful that Levi's friend can get the information off the SD card.
Can't wait to start the next book.
Escape #5
Just keeps getting better. Harper and Levi make it it to Beane's underground bunker and he uses his skills to try and extract the data on the SD card. Only problem, it takes a special decryption device to extract the data. After the police show up at the bunker, to ptotect his people, Beane tells Harper and Levi to leave. He gives them dirt bikes and night vision goggles to help them escape. Harper is almost captured but Levi turns into a wolf and attacks one of the officers. Beane in his panther form takes out another officer so Levi and Harper can get away. Now they have to get the decryption device which happens to belong to the vampire Levi is trying to take down. Can't wait for the next book to find out how they pull this off!!

Heating up the sheets! Harper and Levi have a plan to get the data they need to take down Mortensen to Beane. In order to do that they have to go to Baltimore. They have decided to crash a party that Mortensen will be hosting that very night. Levi and Harper go shopping for the formal wear they will need and she gets to spend a great deal more money than she ever has for just one night. After a afternoon of bedroom romps and a nap, Harper leaves the hotel for makeup after having her hair done in the hotel salon. When she returns to the hotel to pick up the clothes that were delivered from the store. The front desk clerk alerts men in the lobby that she is there, Harper manages to get into the elevator. Once the doors close she calls Levi to let him know, he tells her to get off the elevator and leave the hotel through the parking garage. She manages to make it outside and flags down a cab,before she can get in the taxi the men from the lobby grab her. Have to read the next book to find out what happens!

Great Escapes! Levi manages to save Harper outside of the hotel and they make their escape from Mortensen's goons, but they still need to get to the party. After going over the fence around the estate they use the uniforms of two of the temporary staff that are hired to get into the house. Levi and Harper change into their formal wear and while mingling with the other guests, Levi comes face to face with the vqmpire that tortured him as a teenager. Hoping this vampire didn't recognize him, they make their way to Mortensen's office and connect the reader to the decryption device and start transmitting to Beane. Of course it won't be that easy! Needless to say there is an exciting escape yet to be made. Definitely a must read series!!

It was werewolf smut, you get what you expect out of it. The story was expected and the characters were average.

Its just Harper's luck, she is stuck on the side of the road with a flat on her car "baby". Next thing you know, super sexy Levi has stolen her baby. What's a crazy girl to do but Hotwire Levi's bike, chase after him, and get him to let her tag along. Love the cross over characters from the Taken by the Panther Series.
#2 Pursuit
Harper and Levi flee the farmhouse looking for a SD reader, instead they find a vampire and a group of humans after them. After being chased relentlessly and almost losing Harper, Levi figures sex is the best way to warm up. I agree!
#3 Flight
Harper and Levi leave the cabin in search of safely and a new card reader. They run into trouble on the river and its up to Harper to save the day. And a pair of shoes!
#4 Haven
They have traveled across the state in a stolen Mini Cooper, getting closer and closer to Levi's IT guy. Having eluded a police checkpoint, a police dog on their scent, and a police chase, they finally get to the Black Mesa facility and Harper meets Chey (IT guy) for the first time. You see snippets of what's going on with Levi and Harper from Chey's point of view in Panther Quest.

Levi had been running hot and cold with Harper and she wants answers. Levi tells her that it is all or nothing and he wants her. After finding out the SD card is encrypted, Levi and Harper must flee the mountain to look for a toaster shaped box to use to decrypt the stolen SD card.
#6 Freed
Levi and Harper have to find a way to get in Mortensen's house and get the decryption device during a party. Here's the plan - buy a dress: check, buy Jimmy Choo's: check, get hair and make up done: check, run from goons: check, end on one heck of a cliffhanger!: double check
#7 Finale
Levi has rescued Harper for Mortensen's goons, and they are on their way to the party. after sneaking in, they must find a way to slip into the office and attach the wifi and thumb drive to the toaster. With Beane's help, what can go wrong. It's an ending to keep you on the edge of your seat..

VM Black has converted me when it comes to serials. I found book one of this series months ago for free and put the series on my to get list when I got Christmas Gift cards. Well I received a copy of her series Cora's Bond and if you had told me the same writer wrote these two worlds I would have said no, but yes! The contrast in world's and characters is amazing and will not dissapoint!
This series is about Levi (werewolf) and Harper (human). It starts off with Levi on the run from having stolen something from an evil vampire. He car jacks Harper, only to find that woman is hard to get one over on and even harder to make upset/girly scream, even when she just had mind blowing sex on the hood of her carjacked car with the car jacker, who then turns into a wolf, and fights bad guys with a grenade launcher. She never misses a beat and it just gets faster paced and builds a world that is believable and characters that while enjoyable are not cliche. I will not tell you where you go to get supplies to fight an evil vampire, but it was one of the most awesome scenes as I could so picture it!
This book also has Chay ( I have a team Chay t shirt) who is a secondary character, but got his own book in the Taken by the Panther serial. VM Black has become one of my authors that I have on favorites and email updates so I know when a new book comes out, which is always quickly...never have to wait long! Give yourself a present and buy the escape that is VM Black's books.

He car jacks Harper, only to find that woman is hard to get one over on and even harder to make upset/girly scream, even when she just had mind blowing sex on the hood of her carjacked car with the car jacker, who then turns into a wolf, and fights bad guys with a grenade launcher. She never misses a beat and it just gets faster paced and builds a world that is believable and characters that while enjoyable are not cliche. I will not tell you where you go to get supplies to fight an evil vampire, but it was one of the most awesome scenes as I could so picture it!
This book also has Chay ( I have a team Chay t shirt) who is a secondary character, but got his own book in the Taken by the Panther serial. VM Black has become one of my authors that I have on favorites and email updates so I know when a new book comes out, which is always quickly...never have to wait long! Give yourself a present and buy the escape that is VM Black's books.

I will start by saying that I love the cover and the main characters names. I loved this book. It's everything I look for in a book that I've chosen to read. Main characters, Levi and Harper, what a pair. Crazy bonkers comes to mind but you cannot do anything but love them. They made a great couple and they had great chemistry. It was a awesome storyline. It had so much detail and information that you don't ever find yourself wandering whats going on, their backgrounds or whose who it explains everything perfectly. The dialogue between Levi and Harper was fantastic. Both stubborn and strong characters, the dialogue was hilariously funny at times and very entertaining. I really loved the authors style of writing and I will definately read more of her books. There were a few mix ups and spelling errors here and there but nothing major. Now I will wait patiently for Beane and Tara's story. It's going to a fun and interesting book. Can't wait!!!

Omg.
When i bought those books they werent in box set, so i am glad that now you can buy all in one, because the cliffhangers are brutal, and i was having hard time for waiting to next book to come out.
I read all of them 5 times, and i think i will be sure reading them again.
The story is very intense and quick read. The sexual scenes are very god and steamy. The story gets more and more intense and the last book is mind blowing. I fell in love with the characters in the first book, and keep falling in the next ones.
Levi is on the run for his life from very hostile vampires. He hijacked Harpers car, and that is the start of they story.
Soon they are both on the run and falling for each other. Their dialogs are sometimes hilarious and i findet myself laughing at laud, hahaha...
I dont vant to leave spoilers so i wont get into the story...i think that every one who likes shifters romance and action Must read this Box set.
I realy do hope that V. M. Black is going to write some continuing for this set, because i would really like to know Harper as a shifter.

This book is just plain awesome. There is no way you could see the words VM Black on the cover and not have this bad boy in instant click. Don't hesitate, just buy the book....It rocks! Do not pass go, do not collect 200 bucks, just buy the book. You will be mad if you don't. So sometimes people have to do the wrong thing for the right reasons. Stealing a car, ok, maybe not stealing technically he traded, she just didn't like the terms. The characters make you love them almost from page one. The action is non stop from page one to the last. My other book BFF may think I am cheating on him, but what can I say, her alpha's are hot. Anything by Ms. Black, is a done deal in my book. Being chased by Vampires a very ugly one at that, for something he thinks is his takes our pair on a wild ride.... you should come along.....

This starts out with Levi stealing the car, then you get all kinds of twists. From vampires to werewolves to humans... and so much more chasing them all over the 4 state area.
You have a twists that will drag you in and not let you go till you have read every single word that was typed up. At times I felt like they where living breathing friends who needed help. Then other times you will chuckle as they start fighting and just know who will lose the battle or how it will lead to a super super hot sexy scene. Make up sexy scenes are the absolute best!!!
Now this story is no way boring, you will cry at times, laugh at others! Now you can see parts of this in the Out of control set, but that will be from Beanies point of view. Which is kind of twisted in a sweet sick way!!

I really liked Harper and Levi as characters. Mostly Harper, because I have a soft spot for crazy, cynical, bold women. I didn't mind the storyline either. There was a good balance of action and romance. My only issue is that there were a lot of behaviors that didn't fit people who were on the run. Harper had very distinctive hair, at no point did she dye it or cover it up. The cops were tracking them, so they were smart enough to leave off their cellphones and get burners, but stole a motorcycle from a cop blockade, not thinking there would be tracking devices inside. Then towards the end, they were making far too much noise for people hiding out inside a house full of vampires.
I'm probably being way too picky, but I was turned off slightly by the inpractical things they were doing. Otherwise, I honestly did enjoy the pace, and the character interactions.

V.M. Black is truly amazing. I have read ALL of her books and LOVE them. This series is no exception! Sexy Alpha Levi and Sassy heroine Harper are perfect together! Their chemistry is wonderful and you will love the roller coaster ride right along with them! The author is wonderful that way. I couldn't put it down! You can't help but be sucked into the story! The bundle is definitely the way to go! That way you don't DIE while waiting for the next book! And it's a great price! Get this bundle and you won't be sorry!

I generally don't like serials, but when they are bundled and you don't have to wait for the next one to come out I can enjoy them. I really like V.M. Blacks writing style and have enjoyed many of her books. I enjoyed the interaction between the Levi & Harper in this story and would enjoy seeing them in future writings. I also enjoy how Ms. Black brings characters from other books into a lot of her writings, it gives the stories extra life and can help you remember characters from the past as their paths cross into the newer stories.

I love this author. The relationship between the H/h flows so naturally and feels in no way contrived while the circumstances of their meeting are extremely humorous. I especially appreciate the strength shown by Harper while she stands on her own two feet and takes responsibility for her own decisions and actions. Nothing I hate more than a whiny ninny who can't own up to her mistakes. Grab this bundle for a fast paced romp with laugh out loud quips and sigh worthy kisses.

I've read all the books in this bundle and let me tell you, they get better with each one. The first story wasn't my all time favorite, but it was still good. Books 2-7, wowza!
I highly recommend this series, especially if you love action packed shifter romances. There a lot of "run for your life" sequences, but don't worry, there's still a lot of heat...if you know what I mean.

I love the opportunity to read book bundles I get to enjoy the whole series without having to wait for the next book to come out. The series was filled with car chases being shot at, going all ninja mode. Also letting go of your demons and scars from the past in order to let someone else in. Overall it was a good read.

This series has it all. A great love story, between Levi, a wolf shifter and his feisty, quick witted, human mate, Harper. But it is also, a great suspenseful thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat, cheering for our couple. One great series after another, from V.M.Black. Just doesn't get any better!!

Mrs. Black has definitely out done herself with this werewolf series. I really enjoyed Levi and Harper's story and it was great to read the series all at once. There is a great storyline, action, adventure and romance. What else could you possibly ask for? I think I've got a new book boyfriend

What happens when your average Alpha Were meets the girl of his dreams? She takes over, makes him pay for totaling her car, shoots a bad guy for him and still makes him happy in the sack. Jokes abound, snide and real and I enjoyed every page.

Descent read with an interesting storyline. Semi-developed characters. Harper and Levi are on a wild ride as they are chased by a pack of wolves, vampires, and humans. Attraction is evident from the beginning. Good plot.
