Sometimes things have to shatter... “You need to be tested for HIV.” Genesis Swan never expects to hear those words and definitely not from the man who vowed to love, honor, and cherish her. When her husband Kenyon reveals that he has put her body and her heart at risk, Genesis can only fathom two love him even though it hurts or hurt him even though she loves him. “They say if you love something, set it free. Death would be freedom for him.” The only thing Kenyon loves more than he loves himself is being loved. When his string of romances starts to unravel before his eyes, Kenyon has to choose between the wife of his youth, his erratic and jealous lover, or the barely-legal mother of his children. When death comes knocking at his door in the form of a pistol, will he have the opportunity to make the right choice or will the law of sowing and reaping cause him to lose the very thing he’s always taken for granted? …in order for God to do His best work “Sometimes, you have to suffer on purpose for purpose.” Facing divorce, depression, and a debilitating illness should have been enough to take Genesis out, but as her name suggests, that is only the beginning. With the forgiveness of God, praying parents, and the love of a man with the walk of a modern-day Boaz, Genesis must learn that even in the midst of mess, God can work miracles.

My reviews are based on the following variables: Content, Delivery, Relevance and Impact

Living In The House Your Lies Built receives the following ratings and assessments:

Content: 1/1
This book has an excellent plot/story line that both captivates and engages the reader for the entire read. It contains lots of juiciness that keeps the reader at the edge of their seat for the entire read. As a result, I was able to read this book in just a few days because I didn’t want to put it down.

Delivery: 1/1
The book was well-written, especially given that this is the author’s debut novel. It flowed well and the author was well-versed throughout the entire book. It was broken into chapters and each chapter was in the voice of a different character. This demonstrates the author’s savviness in terms of character development. I appreciated the way the book was chaptered because I was able to easily keep up with the chains of events. The delivery of the book was my favorite part because the author did an exceptional job demonstrating her strengths at character development and story-telling, both of which I feel like made the book solid. It was nice to read through such a well-told story and such well-developed characters. My attraction to the plot came secondary to these things because the author is truly gifted in these areas and I was blown away by those things, alone. (character development and story-telling).

Relevance: 1/1
This was a good, leisure read. It served its purpose of entertainment for sure. The story was captivating. This was a very relevant novel because it highlights many of life’s components that we should think about as we go. The title, alone, says a lot.

Impact: 1/1
This was an exciting read. I couldn’t put it down. I am hoping to see more from this author!

Every Women Should Read This Book

This book was truly a very good book. It will have you captivated from the very first page to the last page. It is like a breath of fresh air no cussing at all, I Cried with the Characters, and also rejoiced with them. Was so happy that Justice found the love that she deserved.Kenyon was truly a lost soul.Addison to me was just very confused. But what really made this book good is that this story could happen to any woman their are so many Men on the Down Low. For this to be her first book it was excellent. REALLY looking forward to read many more books from this author.

Forgiveness

This was certainly different than my usual reading material. I liked the format after I got used to hearing the story from so many different perspectives. I also liked the Christian aspect that was deeply rooted here. God's incredible love is the theme throughout and it made for s very interesting story.

Wow!!! I loved this book... the characters were so wonderful, and the pain they went thru made the reader feel it as well. This book shows the reader that God does perform miracles and blesses his children. God does show his love toward the characters, and God does give second chances. I highly recommend this book for everyone that loves reading.

What a story! I couldn’t put the book down, I couldn’t believe how selfish, dumb, and ignorant these men treated the genesis and justice and how the men were so caught up with each other and did so much damage.

WOW... Amazing

This will be one of my all time favorite books. There are only a few books that really have me talking and praying for a character in the book. Yes I said a small prayer for Genesis. Thanks Ms. Young for drawing me into the book and taking the time to develop the characters.

A great read

This book is definitely a page Turner. It has twists and turns until the very end. It is a classic example of God's love and redemption in a time of society's disregard for his word.
