I really enjoyed Brace. It's a moving exploration of the life and times of being a woman. The work gracefully weaves through many facets of womanhood (motherhood, divorce, marriage, sensuality, aging) with honesty and emotional depth. At times, the writing reminded me of Deborah Garrison.
What struck me most was how confessional the tone felt. You walk away really knowing this poet. The vulnerability on the page is striking, and it invites a sense of intimacy that makes the reading experience feel personal and immersive.
My only small critique is more of a personal preference: I would have loved a larger font for easier reading. But that’s purely a formatting issue and doesn’t reflect on the quality of the work, which is beautiful, bold, and evocative.
