Linc McKay, the bass guitarist for Dirty Affliction, is addicted to the fame and everything that comes with it. He loves the drugs, the alcohol, and the women. Especially the women. He lives by the motto "You can never have too much of a good thing." That is, until one mistake threatens to destroy his career. After years of living life according to others' expectations, Honesty Raines finally decides to live life on her terms. She quits college and hits the road with her brother's band, living the life she's always dreamed. Hesitant to bring Honesty along, her brother agrees under one stay away from the sexy bass player. However, that's just not something she is willing to do.
Regina Frame lives in Alabama with her husband and two dogs. She started her writing journey early 2013 when she published The Beaumont Trilogy. Since then she has published the first book in her rock star series, A Dirty Affliction which released in 2014. She fell in love with the bad boy rockers and released four more books in the series. Rock music is her passion. She loves losing herself in the beat and the stories of her characters.
As the bassist for Dirty Affliction, Linc, lived every part of the rock and roll lifestyle with booze, drugs and plenty of women. When bandmate, Jinx’s, little sister goes on tour with the band Linc is ready to make a change for Honesty who is trying to turn his life around. Then everything takes a turn when someone from Linc’s past shows up and Linc starts backpedaling on his life which sends Honesty away.
What a rollercoaster ride of emotions! Will these two find a way back and be able to get the HEA I was hoping for? I’m hooked and can’t wait for more from this series.
This is the first standalone book in the Dirty Affliction series. Yes! Get ready to meet Rockstar Linc.
Linc is the typical rockstar that parties hard but when love comes his way, he can love harder. He loves parties, music, drugs and women and he can get all without worry, but this lifestyle can’t last forever, he needs to hit the button to realize the path he is taking is no good neither for him and his bandmates.
Honesty comes to live with her brother, the founder of Dirty Affliction, and when she sees Linc again, she knows it will be hard to ignore what he makes her feel. Linc is this beautiful broken soul that hides in his addiction to continue his life ignoring this only is taking it away from him, until the moment Honesty comes into his life again, he realizes she is not a kid anymore and she makes him “feel” something that can’t name yet.
I loved Honesty because without trying or pushing she made Linc realize he needed to take care of himself and wants to be a better person for himself and for her.
Linc and Honesty will go through a rough path to show each other that they are mean to be, that they can start again but first Linc needs to confess all his secrets to Honesty, and she needs to think if she can trust him again and if she is willing to forgive and “forget” all that can hurt her, but if love is true and strong, it can conquer everything, can’t it?
I really enjoyed this story, parts of it really pulled in my heart strings. I pulled into the story in chapter one and stayed there watching it play out in my head until the final word. There are some surprises in the book both big and small, some you will see coming and others you won't, but they help to make the book as awesome as it is. This is the first book I have read by Regina Frame and I look forward to reading the rest of the series, I do have the rest of the books that are already in my kindle. This book is so worth the 5 stars I have given it. If you like hot as he'll Rock Star books and haven't read this book, I can honestly say I do not think you will regret reading it.
Author Regina Frame brings us a rocker romance that holds a lot of emotion and substance.
Linc is a rocker who on the surface is gruff, says it like it is, and knows what he wants. He also has his share of addictions, inner demons, and issues.
Honesty is sweet and caring, but also a spit-fire ;) and she also knows what (and who) she wants.
These two go through a lot, both together and separately, in this story.
There's sweetness, upset, sexiness, humor... just to name a few "feels" that you'll experience while reading this story.
I've enjoyed all of Regina's books, and this one is my favorite so far :) <3
A great rocker romance. It's about Linc the bass player for the band Dirty Affliction. He is struggling with a lot of different issues and things from his past but the way he copes with them is by drinking, doing drugs and sleeping with numerous women. Then the drummer Jinx's little sister Honesty joins them on tour and makes Linc want to be a better person. He does good for a little while until a woman from his past appears which happens to be the lead singer for the opening band. This is an awesome book about rockstars and all the trials and tribulations that some go through. I recommend this rockin' read.
This book was suggested to me by a friend to read and so glad she did. This story has you on an emotional roller coaster as you experience the downward spiral that Bass Guitarist Linc McKay is on. The demons of his past haunt him and are starting to destroy his future. Can one woman by the name of Honesty pull him from the depths of despair and show him that not only is life worth fighting for but they are worth fighting for. This book has a little of everything and will have you feeling anxious and biting your fingernails hoping that Linc chooses the right path.
Honesty joins her brother's band on tour and I'd told to stay away from Linc. Linc sees Honesty and realizes he will not be able to stay away from her.
There relationship would be great, but Linc has fallen so far down the hole of drugs and alcohol, not to mention the temptations from another band, that it makes it an impossible feat to love someone hell bent on self destruction.
I loved this book. This book is an emotional roller coaster with the two main characters. Linc is addicted to Drugs, Drink, and Dams. Honesty wants to live her life on her own terms. Could these two come together and change each other for the better? You will have to read this book to find out. If you like rock romance this is the book for you. I look forward to the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.
This story had the sweet tenderness mixed with the raw ugliness you would expect from a Rock romance. The characters were beautifully flawed, as you would expect them to be. It was sexy and had just the right amount of angst. The writing was good, and it flowed very well!
Wow! This is the first book I have read by this author but it won't be the last! Loved getting to know the guys in this band. Linc is the bad boy every girl is warned about. Honesty is the sweet girl next door waiting to rebel! What they have together is explosive but will it be able to keep them together? Will Teagan get her way to have Linc? Awesome book! I'll be reading the next one soon!
If you like sexy, dirty rockstars, then this is the book for you. The emotional and intense journey you get to ride with Linc is amazing, well written. I loved the connection between Linc and Honesty. So looking forward to the rest of the band's stories.
I can't believe that I am just discovering the amazing talent of Regina Frame! I loved this sexy emotional rollercoaster of a read and excited to move on to the next book!
The first of the Dirty Affliction series, and we start with Linc the bass guitarist. In typical rocker style, Linc has found himself on the downward spiral of addiction. When Honesty, Jinx's sister, joins the band on the road, Linc knows that it would cause all sorts of problems for him to go down that road. But he can't seem to help himself. Will Honesty become his new addiction? Or will his old habits get the better of him?
An ok start this series. I love some good rock star drama, and this definitely gives us that drama times ten. Be prepared for the life of a rocker to hit you in the face with this, so if you are not comfortable with that type of stuff, then steer clear. I do feel that it was a bit rushed, but that's just IMO. I give this 4 stars.
This is a book in A Dirty Affliction Novel series and it is Linc and Honesty's story and I recommend you read it and you will not be disappointed. Linc was the bad boy of rock and definitely lived up to his name and status where as Honesty was quiet, innocent and sheltered but when they met for the first time there was a connection and chemistry between them that was too strong to ignore and even though they are the total opposite of each other in every single way the friendship that they developed was important to them both and then a situation blew everything apart and Honesty realised that she needed to leave so that she could heal but Linc went into a dangerous spiral but will they be able to communicate and confront the situation before it is too late. This book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and the characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and kept your attention throughout and had you turning the pages wondering what would happen next. Regina Frame is a new author to me and I enjoyed reading this book and I couldn't put this book down and read it in one sitting as it was so addictive and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This is Book 1 in the Dirty Affliction series. Linc McKay is the bass guitarist for the rock band, Dirty Affliction, and is one hot mess. He's lost in the big time times and is into drugs, alcohol and women. He knows it's wrong but he can't give it up. Then in walks Honesty, the sister of one the band members. He knows that's wrong, too, but she makes him feel so good when they are together. Then Sweet Misery, a band who will be touring with them, comes on stage. It's such a well named band because that's what they bring with them. Sweet Misery! This is a great rock band themed series. Very well written and it's got really good sex scenes in it. I can't wait for Book 2.
I love this book this book is an emotional roller coaster with the two main characters. Linc is addicted to drugs, drink and dames. Honesty wants to live her life on her own terms. Could these two come together and change each other for the better? You will need to read this book to find out. if you like rock romance this is the book for you. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I love finding new authors! Honesty by Regina Frame did not disappoint. Linc is a hot rocker with all of the bad traits that comes along with that lifestyle. Honesty is sweet and innocent. Them two together made a great story.
Man Linc had some serious problems. I can’t believe what a crook and horrible person court was, for awhile I thought he actually cared about Linc and the bandonly to find the truth of his deceit! I’m so happy Linc and honesty got there happy ever after.
There was so much drama surrounding Linc!!! Dude was a giant mess that I didn’t know how he was going to find his way out of. Honesty was a sweet girl who thought she could handle a wild rock star, however, he proved her wrong. They did deserve their happy ending though.
This book is very well written. It's similar to many other rocker books but not quite as graphic, which I love. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series!
Tropes: Contemporary Romance, addiction & recovery, redemption, friends to lovers
Linc McKay is the bass player for the famous band, Dirty Affliction. He was addicted to everything involved in being a rockstar, including sex, drugs, and music. He didn't have time for relationships, nor did he want them. Groupies provided all he could possibly need. Then Honesty Raines joined the tour, and Linc's world is turned upside down. All he wanted was to love her, but he didn't quite know how. Honesty has lived a sheltered life, and she's more than ready to spread her wings and fly. Her brother, Jinx, is the drummer for the band, and he offers for her to join the band on tour. She jumps at the chance. She only has to follow one rule: stay away from the bass player.
This story was everything I love in my favorite rockstar romances. By the time these two characters meet again, Linc is ready to get sober and clean. Honesty only wants what's best for him, and she provides the healthiest motivation for him to get better. As a recovering alcoholic and addict, I was able to relate a great deal to not only his journey but hers as well. My emotions ran all over, but it made for a great, entertaining experience. I recommend this to all rockstar romance lovers out there. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
Jinx is the drummer in the famous band, Dirty Affliction, and he's also the brother of our heroine, Honesty. He's quite protective of her since their parents are gone, and while he wasn't quite down with her quitting school to go on the road with his band, he agreed with the stipulation that she stay away from Linc, the bassist. Linc is living the rock & roll life with all the booze, drugs, and women he can manage, but you already know, that's not a life that you can maintain without real consequences going forward. He's not a bad guy at all, but he has some issues that need to be fixed, that's for sure. Things get complicated when he's drawn to Honesty, as she's all grown up now, but there's that addiction, not to mention bro code however, the heart wants what the heart wants. Honesty is the perfect person for him, but this journey is no cake walk because addiction has no pat answer at the end of the day. This story has all the angst, drama of fame, and intensity of addiction so it was a page turner. I can't wait to read more in this new series, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
While the story is a familiar one in this genre, it is the characters that make the story. The way they interact, the way they deal in situations that are good and bad, their approach to life and love....all things that turn us on or off of them. Linc and Honesty meet when she joins their tour at the request of her brother, Jinx, also the founder of the band. He is none too pleased when Honesty and Linc get together.
All in all a good story and start to the series. My only complaint (if you know me you know what is coming!) is the shoddy editing/proofreading and inconsistency in some areas. Some places have no separation with time sequences. For instance, one paragraph ends and the next paragraph picks up weeks later. Confusing. Just saying...proofreading is almost as important as the story itself.
This is the first in a new series, and this is Linc and Honesty’s journey. Linc is the bass guitarist for Dirty Affliction, and he loves the fame that comes with this lifestyle. Honesty has always lived her life as other want her to, and she decides to quits college to follow her dream, and she goes on tour with her brother’s band, with one stipulation that she stays away from Linc. Linc and Honesty are complete opposites, but the chemistry between them is combustible and undeniable. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, and has family, friendships, challenges, healing, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining and additive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
So, the start of this read is full of frustration, with Linc. He's struggling, he's addicted to drugs and alcohol, it's a difficult situation and he's a bit out of control. There were some things that I was cursing him and my heart went out to Honesty. I struggled with a particular situation and almost had to set it down but I pushed through. Linc needed to fall to be able to pick himself back up. There's growth in his character, in his life, and it was good to see. There's a connection between Linc and Honesty, a strength that she has to deal with these things. It's an interesting start to this series, I'm curious about these rockers and where their journey will take each of them.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
3.5 stars! Lots of sex, and lots of love... in the end. But it took too long in my opinion, to get there. There was a lot of dramatic "high school drama" that I felt was unnecessary. It held up the characters' characters development. Don't get me wrong, Linc's character changed, (the most), but only because the story needed him to.
This is such an emotional rollercoaster, I loved Linc and Honesty, he's a Rockstar hooked on the lifestyle of drink, drugs and women, she's the drummer's little sister, they've both got skeletons in the cupboard, only Linc pushes her away thinking he's no good for her, but he needs her to survive.
First time author for me and I'm hooked, can't wait to get more Dirty Addiction.
It was ok. It seemed skip some good parts of the story. Details are important. I said this a lot in reviews, but it doesn't mean it's true for story to really love it. Build up for the drama is important too. Which this book had to a point.
