The setting sun cast an orange haze over the dusty town as Sheriff River stepped out of his office, a cigarillo clenched between his teeth. Inside sat Alistair Monk—captured, infamous, and infuriatingly silent. Somewhere out there, Monk’s gang held banker Maxwell Graham hostage. And time was slipping away.
