Having killed the traitor Gwarda responsible for his brother's death, he once again sets out to find his abuser from long ago, hoping to finally find peace. Will he live up to his nickname, Savage? Will he return to his Gwarda brothers and join them in the fight against Lucius, the god of death? Sorvus has longed to live in the human realm as her druid mother once had. Being a half-breed in Vehaven, the realm above, has been troublesome to say the least, and having Lucius, the god of death as your father didn’t help matters much either. So when Sorvus sees in a vision that her Destoul, her soul’s one true mate, destined only for her, will be one of the new race, the Gwarda warriors, she is more than eager to begin her adventure. What she hopes to be a fairytale-like romance turns out to be challenging when she finds herself struggling to break through Darius’s cold heart. Darkness surrounds her in the human realm as the god-side of her sees dark and malevolent entities and feels the sting of death itself. Will she ever win the heart of her troubled mate? Will she be able to survive in the human realm where evil abounds?

Had Keirah and her sisters known what was set in motion the day their stones appeared and how personally they would be affected by it, they would have still fought the darkness, still battled for what belonged to them. Anguish had fallen upon their people as darkness encompassed their land, but through the darkness there came light. The new race of warriors would be their hope, their salvation, their loves’ destiny. But they too could be tainted. They too could be seduced by the dark forces they had been created to fight against. If measuring by this earthly realm’s time then it’s been years but in the unseen realm above known as Vehaven, it has been but a moment. Love knew no bounds, knew no limitations. What can I say but I love Madison Thorne Grey ' s Gwarda series! each book just keeps getting better and better!
I love how the story unravels with multiple characters story lines intertwined throughout the books.
Darius... *sigh* what a complex character! I can't say that I love one character more than the other, as I love them all! I don't want to give anything away but everyone should read this series!
Everytime I read a Madison Thorne Grey novel, I am transported straight into the story and can envision all that is happening as if I'm in that little world as well!!
Such a pleasure to read these books.... and as always I am anticipating the arrival of the next one!

Ms. Grey has penned another great Gwarda Warrior in Recompense!
Loved seeing more characters develop and plots unfold! The fierce Darius is tormented by his past while his Destoul, Sorvus has missing memories. As they fight to avenge both their past and establish their future the twists and turns are everywhere. With help in the most unlikely form of Sepid, Darius and Sorvus are reunited to strengthen the warriors. More pieces of the painting on the wall fall into place as the archangel Vincent appears. The Gwarda Warriors are now planning their next move.
And so the wait begins for the next book Silence!

It just keeps getting better and better. Every once & a while you experience a brilliance, a gifted individual who's talent to transport you to multiple realms with such vivid intensity, it completely takes your breath away. this is one of the best series I have read in a long time, so far Recompense is the best of the three, waiting anxiously for the release of Silence.

pretty good for free all three books are free from BN ebooks. I read them backwards so far I think this is the third one so I have to read the first two now! really enjoyed this read. it took me about 3 day or more to finish.
