Trick Williams understands celebrity. He was a Broadway star by age 10, had his own hit TV show by age 12, a platinum record by 16, and multiple movies well into his 20’s. A superstar with everything until he nearly destroyed his life and the person most dear to him. Trick made the only choice he could to survive… he walked away from stardom and started something bigger than himself, something better. Trick started Pawtown, a place where neglected four-legged friends can find their forever home.
A Legend looking for her star…
Sophia Legend grew up unclaimed by her famous father. She lived in the shadow of her two well-known half siblings. Now all the secrets are out and Sophia is focused on her own personal success. Beautiful, ambitious, and looking out for number one, Sophia courts celebrity and superstar status. She is well on the way, when her own fear and a foolish decision put everything she desires at risk.
Two people who want completely different lives…
Trick Williams wants to stay in the middle of the desert at Pawtown saving his four-legged friends. He has no need for his former fame or public life. Sophia Legend wants only one thing, to shine in this world like the star she knows she is. How could two people who want such different lives find their happily ever after?
I have been a fan of this series since I started it and continue to enjoy this series Luxe Glamour is the fifth book in this one and follows Sophia Legend
She's finally out as the daughter of Hollywood star Steve Legend instead of a a dirty little secret and she's using that to her advantage. Breaking out as a model and seeing herself rise to fame but the fame is short lived unfortunately as an unfortunate event see's fans turn on her.
She in damage control mode and her PR company has her volunteering at an animal shelter owned by a forgotten Hollywood heartthrob that's run into the shadows to hide from all things Hollywood.
Sophia and Trick couldn't be more different from one another, he wants away from the limelight and she can't get famous quick enough. I loved Trick and everything about him, his story is sad and I could definitely understand his reasoning and why he left Hollywood behind. He was caring and kind, loyal and humble.
I loved the storyline and the idea behind it. The opposites attract, someone to bring you down to earth and really show you what's important in life is definitely what I get out of this.
The unfortunate part for me was Sophia's character and her selfishness, I found at times her to be too much and while sometimes I get that a character's behavior in a book can be hard to swallow at first knowing that in due time we would get the backstory that potentially explains the behavior I just couldn't wrap my head or justify her behavior in this book. There wasn't enough to make me understand her actions at the beginning, other then to think of her as a petulant child who needed a serious lesson in humility.
I'm still a fan of this series and I am definitely looking forward to the next one this one just fell a little short for me.
So I loved Trick the way he dealt with his personal issues by taking something bad that happened and started Pawtown was amazing and yes he secluded himself but I could totally understand his need to step away from the limelight. Now Sophia got on my nerves at times she was more like a petulant kid seeking attention by any means than an adult, she was selfish at times, and had some daddy I need attention issues. I honestly didn’t know if her character was redeemable and that I could deal with her but I’m not going to lie Trick made up for her a lot. By the end I ended up tolerating her maybe even understanding her and falling in love with Trick. It was a good story, I love this series and it was another good one, maybe not my favorite but still enjoyable. Oh and Pawtown with all those dogs 😍😍😍 I want to go adopt some dogs now.
Luxe Glamour by Maggie Marr was another hit for me! Taking me through Sophia and Truck's story was brilliant and I feel like I was right there with them.
Sophia had never appealed to me in other stories. She seemed attention seeking, spoiled and rather as a diva, but this book humanizes her a little. We got to see a lot more of Sophia's vulnerable side, and how she interacted when not constantly influenced by the 'Legend' name in Hollywood.
Trick, well... I just loved Trick! He was just as vulnerable as Sophia, even if it were in different ways. I loved seeing him grow and fall in love with Sophia. Even with the mistakes he made in the past, He deserved love, and he got it.
Luxe Glamour is an awesome read. Plenty of drama, passion and romance to keep you on your toes. I think everybody will Love this book. I must certainly did!
ARC for honest review with no compensation received from NetGalley and Next Step PR
LuxeGlamour is book 5 in the Glamour series and what another amazing Hollywood story it is!! Am so loving these books by Maggie Marr!!
Sophie Delgado Legend is the "secret daughter" along with his sister Ellen and brother Rhett Delgado who's mother was the housekeeper/mistress of the famous actor Steve Legend. Sophia wants nothing to do with his father or his half brother and sister but will use them to get to the stardom she feels she deserves but because of certain bad decisions her PR company send her to volunteer at Pawtown an animal shelter. Where she meet a long forgotten Hollywood Heartthrob..Trick Williams. He wants no parts of the Hollywood scene any longer and will do whatever to keep it that way.
Can opposites find a way to have it all or will Sophia's lust for stardom be her downfall at finding a love that will last a lifetime??
I love this series by this fabulous author! The writing is always wonderful and the characters are exciting and lush. I loved the rescued pups theme in this story. I'm a dog person and I pick up strays and rescue when I can. I have four "babies" at the moment so this subject is dear to my heart. I cringed during Sophia's moment of disgrace. The storyline was uplifting as far as the pups are concerned but was heartbreaking with Trick and Angie's history. I like Trick for the most part but didn't really like Sophia for him. Sophia was a hard sell for me. Her badgering of Ellen was the worst. I love the Legend sibs and hope Ellen's story is next. This wasn't my favorite of the series but I'm looking forward to the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
I love that even though something horrible happened. He decided it was time for a change and he created Pawtown. Now pawtown was in danger and needed funding. Sophia did the unthinkable and to redeem herself she was to go to Pawtown n scrub kennels and scoop dog crap. And participate in the documentary that Trick and Angie decided to do to help get more adoptions and money needed to run things. And all the while Sophia faces her biggest fear. And they both find love with each other. Another great book by Maggie Marr.. 👍🏻👍🏻 From me.
Great Series! This is such a great series! This is the fifth book in The Glamour Series by Maggie Marr. These books can be read as a standalone; however, I recommend that you read them in order so that you can get to know the history of each of the characters. Trick Williams has been a celebrity since the age of 10, when he almost destroyed his life he left all of the stardom and started Pawtown, to help neglected four-legged friends find their forever home. Sophia Legend grew up unclaimed by her famous father, and in the shadow of her famous Legend half siblings. Now the secret is out, she is enjoying her new life, and is determined to become a celebrity as well. When she gets into some trouble and starts loosing fans, Choo steps in and starts working his PR magic. When Sophia and Trick meet there are fireworks, but can they overcome their issues to get their HEA. I love all of the characters in this book and was so glad that Choo was also in this book, I love him and his personality. I can’t wait until the next book comes out! A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Mrs. Marr writes great books i have read and loved all the stories in the glamour series, and luxe glamour doesn't dissapoint. At first I really didn't like Sophia, but as the book went on I fell in love with her. Trick i loved from the beginning all the way to the end! At first they both didn't want a relationship for different reasons, and it was fun to watch them fall in love, and find happy ever after in the land of dreams in lala land! I loved pawtown and all it stood for. A no kill animal shelter that doesn't turn away even the dogs that have been bred to fight. Of course it had some of my favorite characters from some of the other glamour books. Choo is my absolute favorite and I was glad to see him in this book too. Up next is Ellen and Webber's love story, and I can't wait to get my hands on that book as well. If you haven't read any of Mrs. Marr's books do yourself a favor and go pick up the glamour series it is a great read where all the books fit together, and a cast of characters everybody can love!
I loved Trick the main character in this book from the beginning. He is an ex-star that has exiled himself from that life in order to stay sober. He runs a no kill animal shelter called Pawtown and has dedicated himself to helping animals. His counterpart- Sophia, on the other hand is one of those people I really don't like. She is a self-centered model who needs to be adored to feel good about herself. Do these two belong together? In the beginning I would have said no but as the book progresses we learn that Sophia is actually an insecure person just looking for a place to belong and that place is by Trick's side at Pawtown. The supporting cast is varied and really fun and the situations they find themselves in show both depth and humor just like I have come to expect from all of Ms. Marr's stories.
I have liked all of the Glamour books but must admit this might be my favorite so far. The characters are all believable and getting to the happy ending is a really enjoyable ride.
Trick Williams, a mega super star, left all the fame and fortune of Hollywood behind after a tragic accident. He and his sister have built a new life at Pawtown, a no kill shelter for dogs. Sophia Legend is at the top of her career and while at an adoption event she meets Trick. He is instantly attracted to Sophia, she is instantly attracted to Trick and trouble begins when she hits one of the dogs with her car and leaves giving the press the impression she doesn't care. Now she is losing fans and is falling fast. Choo, begins working his PR Magic, while Sophia and Trick find magic of their own. Will it last, if Sophia wants fame in Hollywood and Trick wants Pawtown? I really loved this book. Pawtown is a cause near and dear to my heart. I love dogs! Ms. Marr is a great Author. Her books are well written with strong characters and sexy scenes. I would highly recommend this book to all. It is AWESOME!
I love Maggie Marr's books she is a great author and I love her writing style.
That being said I was not a fan of this story. Although I liked the premise I just didn't like Sophia. She was truly a world class bit**. Through the entire story I kept trying to find some redeeming qualities with Sophia, but there were none. I really liked Trick and his backstory. To me he saved the story and was an interesting character. I thought the end of the story went too fast and there was too much insta love for me. I would have liked a more in-depth look at love between Trick and Sophia and Sophia really mending her ways. I really wish the end wasn't so rushed!
I will say I can't wait for Ellen's story. I really liked her in this book. She had such a great personality and seemed so much more likable than her sister.
If you love animals and movie stars and the celebrity circuit, this is your book. When fromer Bad Boy movie star Trick Williams started a dog rescue far from Hollywood's tempting lights. When the money for the shelter runs low, he consents to let Pawtown be used in a reality show starring Sophia Legend who was America's favorite model until she ran over a dog by mistake. Sophia Legend craves the fame she's achieved. It's her connection to the famous father who never acknowledged her. She can't refuse the chance to redeem herself with her fans. But what no one knows is she has a pathological fear of dogs after being bitten as a child. How She overcomes her fear of animals and Trick overcomes his fear of getting close to another beautiful woman make a wonderful story. I need to read the next book!
This is the love story of Trick Williams and Sophia Legend Delgado. He is a former teen hearthrob who lost almost everything to his addictions. She is the youngest of the children that action star Steve Legend hid from the public eye for years. Sophia has started a very successful modeling career, but she needs some good publicity soon. Trick has found a new purpose in life running Pawtown, a dog rescue facility, but the place needs money to maintain its activity. Sophia "doesn't like" dogs. Trick "has to" keep women away. Add all the now-beloved characters of the Glamour series (from Choo to Amanda), tons of attraction and some four-legged animal companions with a lot of personality, like Estrella, and you have one of the must-read romences of this spring. Maggie Marr has done it again!
This series is pretty amazing. You getting to step into the Hollywood life. This time around we follow Trick and Sophia.
Sophia is the daughter to Hollywood Star Steve Legend. She is breaking into the world of fame as a model and due to certain things that happen it ends quickly. In the matter of what happened she needs Choo and her PR team to help get her back to the good side. In doing so she is volunteering at an animal shelter which happens to be owned by a former Hollywood Star Trick.
Trick... I don’t think there was anything that I didn’t love about him. He was had some terrible things that happened to him and he came out on top. I complete understood why he left Hollywood in the first place.
I am a huge fan of this series. I think you should all check it out.
Trick Williams had left the drugs and the hot women behind in L.A. but only after he had almost killed himself and ruined his sister's life. Together they run Pawtown, a no kill shelter. Trick's funds were running out so he went to L.A. to do an appearance in an effort to raise awareness of the wonder animals at Pawtown and to raise funds. Sophia, famous model and daughter of the famous Steve Legend, needed to do damage control and rebuild her reputation. She goes to Pawtown where her punishment is documented for a reality tv show and where she works through some other issues as well. A good story about people re-building faith in themselves and in others.
I am not sure I have enough of the "right" words to review this exceptional story! "Luxe Glamour" is full of wit, snarky comebacks, sarcasm and intense emotions garnered from characters who have experienced Hollywood's excesses! The addition of "dogs" just make this story that much more entertaining....sort of like the Hollywood adage the actors used to say about never working with children or dogs as they were always upstaged by them!...well almost...this is such a moving story of excess, redemption and compassion and so much love that this book will remain in my "keeper" pile forever!!
This was a wonderful addition to the Glamour Series. It fits well in line with what I expect in the series. So far I've only read the first and this one, I don't know how, but I missed reading the middle books. I'll have to get caught up before the next in the series comes out. I love this series.
