About the author

Jeanie M. Martin

5 books6 followers
After working half her adult life as an American Sign Language interpreter, and then a few more years in the medical field, Jeanie Martin has finally found her calling.

Writing is her passion, and she treasures the paths her research takes her. Currently, she has followed that passion to her Irish roots, and is avidly absorbing as much of their language, culture, history and music as she can. Taking outstanding classes in these subjects from CKonLine is helping to feed the fire.

Besides learning about Irish history, Jeanie reads. A lot. Janet Evanovich, Dean Koontz, Tom Clancy, Karen Marie Moning…the list is endless. She'll read almost any genre…the only one she stays away from is horror. (She admits this is due to wanting to sleep at night). She is a huge fan of Celtic Thunder, and of its principle singers, Colm Keegan, Byrne & Kelly, Emmet Cahill, Emmett O'Hanlon, Keith Harkin. But she also enjoys Josh Groban, MercyMe, a little Macklemore, Lecrae, Brad Paisley, 2Cellos...

And she is a little too fond of Mountain Dew.

I rarely write a review but obtained this book for free on Amazon and LOVED it. And her second book in this series as well. Can't wait for more from her. She's become a favorite author and will gladly pay for her next book.

Very well written and edited. This is a stand-alone book with no cliffhanger.

Unless I know the author's work, I pretty much limit myself to downloading 4 stars and above. This book had no ratings and no reviews. . . but the Celts and The Kilts were calling me. Oh, what a happy surprise this book was! A bit of a romantic suspense with a little chick lit, but all those hot Irish guys to spice it up.

There really isn't much mystery, as any romantic suspense reader worth her salt will spot the perpetrator early on. The enjoyment and suspense really come from the romance, the twists and turns and the charming, funny cast of characters we meet along the journey. The story is a nice balance of serious, romantic, suspenseful, sweet and sensual.

There is some Irish slang I wasn't familiar with, just a few words, nothing too disruptive. Because the main character is American, there's more than one incidence of her embarrassing herself with mistranslation, so the book is very American-English friendly.

Strongly recommended to fans of hot Irish guys, Irish musicians, Ireland, chick lit and romantic suspense.

Celtics have it

Enjoyed reading this book, loved the attempts at Irish language. Good mystery but had the bad person picked out early. could have done "without" so much of the love scenes. It was a really good story and had me crying at the end. Looking forward to next book by this author

This was a wonderful book, although not a cozy as there was more sex and details about the sex than would make it so. A mystery with lots of twists and turns, and a real romance as well. I really enjoyed this one, and am looking forward to the other two books in this series. Of course, anything that mentions men in kilts is a bonus in my books!

WOW. My first book by Jeanie Martin and I am hooked. I love true "Irish" romances. The story of Claire (and Liam) is well written and detailed. Claire is a very strong woman who doesn't even hit the tip of the iceberg with all the love and support she receives from family and friends along her journey. Liam is a singer who just completes her. Yin to Yang. Going for book 2 now and I cannot wait to see how Liam's singing group's stories develop. Alot of promising characters to play out.
