Debra Webb’s “The Wedding” is truly an invitation to the wedding of the year in Birmingham, Alabama. Webb’s readers hope it is Dan and Jess’s wedding. Readers are kept guessing as it could be Lori and Chet or maybe another member of the team has popped the question It might be anyone of the SPU team and you will have to read Webb’s story to find out. The team is ready to celebrate and go to someone’s wedding.
Debra takes readers to a girl conversation about a perfect rehearsal dinner. Readers sit on Jess’s shoulder as she shares her thoughts with her sisters, Lori and Sylvia about her plans. Readers see team members share thoughts, memories, or a surprise revelation. Debra describes Lori and Jess talking about the wedding jitters that go through the mind of the bride-to-be.
Readers also get to see Dan share his thoughts with his father and they learn how his plans will affect his future. Dan is ready to move forward with his life with Jess at his side. Debra treats her readers to Dan’s parents feelings towards Jess as their future daughter-in-law and how they feel about the upcoming birth of their grandchild.
“The Wedding” takes Debra’s readers on a ride though all the “Faces of Evil” events of the past and she gives answers to questions they may have. At the same time she creates a few questions to be answered in future books.
Debra does a marvelous job of describing all of the details of the wedding preparations, the dinners, the attendees, the dresses, the tuxes and last of all the ceremony. My guess is romantics will enjoy reading Debra Webb’s - “The Wedding” more than once and each time they will need a Kleenex. This is as it should be “The Wedding” touches everyone differently as weddings do in real life. I recommend this book as I am a romantic at heart and give the story a 5 star ranking.
This is a novella that is the icing on the cake of the Faces of Evil series concerning the hunt for Eric Spears by Dan and Jess. This is not the end of the series, it is just the end of the Eric Spears hunt. The novella itself is about Dan and Jess's wedding. It brings back everyone who worked with Jess and Dan on the capture of Spears and it is a lovely end to the story. I've been rooting for these two since the beginning and now I have my HEA!!! In order to really enjoy this novella, you really should have at least read the last few FOE books because you will enjoy the novella more. It can be read as a stand alone.
Two people who loved for a lifetime finally get their dream come true and walk down the aisle together to become husband and wife, together for ever, a life to share! Just what you would expect from a wedding, totally emotional!
A great, sweet, extra capping off the Faces of Evil Series!
This takes place 3 months after the events in Depraved. We see how the Birmingham PD SPU team is doing since the close of The Player case and get a hint towards how relationships may play out in future novels. And of course, we finally get to see Jess and Dan enjoying moments of complete bliss/happiness without the shadow of Eric Spears looming over them.
It's short and sweet and a real treat for fans of the series!
The perfect update after the finale. Deb gives us a sweet update of the characters 3 months after the Spears finale.
Don't miss the wedding of the year!

The Wedding is ten books in the making. Finally we see Jess Harris and Dan Barnett reach their happily ever after. Thankfully the actual day is free from drama and their new life together is able to begin with cheer. Webb provides the perfect complement to the numbered Faces of Evil books in this short novella. If you have been with Jess and Dan from the beginning you won’t want to miss this HEA. If you haven’t started at the beginning, what are you waiting for?
This was the perfect wedding for Dan and Jess. After following them throughout The Faces Of Evil Series I started feeling like they were part of my family so I was very happy that this book was written to give us a chance to be at the wedding. Loved this short and the entire series.
This was a very quick read covering Jess and Dan's wedding. If you haven't followed the series you won't understand what is going on. Jess and Dan have loved one another for years but after breaking up they both went their own way for awhile. Dan married a few times but it never worked out because his heart belonged to Jess. Jess, herself, got married once but that too failed. Jess joined the FBI but left under a dark cloud and ended up back in Birmingham doing detective work. Dan was chief of police so the two of them, Dan and Jess, eventually overcame their differences and got back together. Hence, their wedding.
I have to admit I am a sucker for a good wedding story. This one was just plain fun after all the dark evil deeds Jess had to investigate with her job. It was nice seeing her relax and enjoy herself for a change. Of course just about all her and Dan's friends, co-workers, and family took part in pulling things off. At first, Jess wasn't sure about a big wedding but now that the day has arrived, she's glad she let herself be talked into it. She wanted it to be a day to remember since she was finally marrying the man of her dreams.
Now I have a confession to make. I actually was sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting to see if there really would be a wedding. I kept wondering if someone from Jess's past would somehow show up to ruin things. You know, like a hardened criminal Jess had helped put away suddenly escaping from prison to come after her. I read a similar series by another author (won't name names) who waited until the day of the hero and heroine's wedding to have a gunman burst in and shoot the groom in order to exact revenge on the bride. It wouldn't have been so bad if the groom had just been wounded but no, she (the author) decided for some unknown reason, to kill him. As in DEAD! Needless to say, I haven't been able to read another one of her books since. I was so disappointed. Not so with this one. Ms. Webb lets her characters have their happy ending, for which I am truly grateful. This got a big thumbs up as a result.
In this short Story we get to share Jess and Dan's special day. The author writes so vividly that you feel like you are right there with them as one of the wedding guests. Great addition to the series.
Faces of Evil series has all you want in a series. Each book was more intense then the last one. When I read the Wedding it couldn't help but smile and say it's about time. Loved this short story. Great way to end series
So glad to have a little break from the scary life to a story to see the characters enjoy a comment peace. Look forward to her next book. So worth term read.
Although short, this is a well written book. It doesn't contain mystery, just beautiful moments. The wedding is well written and really makes you smile.
a nice short story for the readers of the series, not much plot but it is a nice glimpse into the lives of the characters at a moment none of them were sure they'd see
