Whispering Grove #2

Hot Knot Summer

Rate this book
I came here to hide from heartbreak. Not fall straight into it again, times three.

One cheating ex, a million shattered promises, and a heat that decided to crash down weeks early. So yeah, I’m not exactly thriving.

My only plan? Hide out in a remote cabin, write my next book, and avoid Alphas forever.

Instead…
Boom. Fire. Cabin gone.
No explanation. No warning. Just smoke, ash, and the sinking feeling that maybe it wasn’t an accident.

Enter three local firefighters who are way too hot, way too kind, and way too Alpha.

Atlas. River. Levi.
They offer me a place to stay. I should say no.
But with no other options, I’m stuck in their mountain home with questions burning hotter than my heat.

I don’t know if I can trust them.
I don’t know if the fire was an accident.
And I definitely don’t know what scares me more… who lit the match, or what’s about to ignite between us.

A standalone RH Omegaverse romance with three protective Alphas, one determined Omega, and a fire hot enough to melt every wall she’s built. If you love steamy small-town chaos, primal heat, and the kind of chemistry that fogs up cabin windows, this one’s for you.

This could have been 150 pages shorter but it was still a nice cosy read. 🙆🏻‍♀️

The chemistry our characters in the pack was great and while Emma's indecisiveness was a bit annoying, I like that the men were firm and communicative. 💗 The conflict with Claire seemed forced and didn't add anything to the plot so why was it necessary to add more bitchy energy 😮‍💨

What would have been nice to see was a properly fleshed out friendship between Emma, Lily and Hannah. 🙁 The author slipped it in the beginning but it disappeared until the epilogue where they're magically besties.🫠 It would have been nice if Emma had some female support and friends to pull her through the book. Jess was a bit too distant to truly be there for her.

Overall, this was an okay read, I think I prefer the first book. Probably because Lily was more likeable than Emma. 😅

🎶 I just needed company now. Yeah, I just needed someone around 🎶

One cheating ex, a heat arriving weeks too soon, and a cabin that mysteriously goes up in flames - thriving is not exactly how Emma (h) would describe her current situation. With her plans to lay low, finish her next book, and avoid Alphas completely now buried under ashes, she’s left with nothing but questions - and the lingering scent of smoke that says the fire wasn’t just bad luck. Then come the firefighters. Atlas. River. Levi.

— ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆• THOUGHTS⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚⋆—

[Atlas]

“The whole Alpha-Omega chemistry thing,” I continue, rubbing my elbow. “The scent thing. The... whatever this is. I’m not interested.”

“Are you sure about that?”

“Because your scent tells a different story.”

Emma meets Atlas first, and even though there’s an instant connection between them, he doesn’t push it 💗🩷💓. She’s had a bad experience with alphas before, and the last thing he wants is to be another name on that list. He holds back out of respect, but it’s clear something shifts in him after they meet. Levi and River can tell right away. As soon as Atlas gets back to the station, they know something’s up because he has the look—that far-off stare, quiet demeanor, totally distracted. It’s obvious he’s got someone on his mind. While the others tease him and encourage him to seek her out, Atlas starts to wonder if he’ll even see her again. Still, he holds on to a little hope. She left a mark on him, and he can’t seem to forget her. And then there's the most unserious moment of all - Atlas casually leering over Emma’s shoulder while she’s writing a smut scene about him. He doesn’t even try to be subtle, just stands there with that smug little smile like he knows exactly what she’s doing and loves every second of it. Atlas is the one who shows up to save her when her rental cabin goes up in flames (arson). Total coincidence, perfect timing, and the universe giving them another shot.

[Levi]

“She’s pretty,” Levi murmurs, his usually softer tone with something I rarely hear from him—genuine interest.

He’s on the quieter side and definitely has his reserved moments, especially in the beginning 🥺💓. But once he starts to open up, you can see him become more comfortable in the interactions. He’s so genuinely sweet, with that soft-spoken vibe that sneaks up on you. And underneath it all? He’s got a secret freak side, no question. But even then, it’s all wrapped in this hardcore gentle giant energy. He tried to act like he wasn’t affected by her, like he was keeping it cool. But his scent gave him away every time. No matter how hard he tried to hide it, it was clear - he just wanted his omega. Every look, every moment of closeness, said it all even if he never put it into words right away.

[River]

“We won’t bite,” I add with a wink. “Unless specifically requested.”

“River,” Atlas growls.

“Ignore him,” Levi advises her. “We all do.”

With River, she tried to avoid the pull, but he made it impossible. He was so forward about what he felt and made sure she knew he was attracted to her. He wasn’t afraid to show it or say it. He was a shameless flirt, always throwing out smooth lines and playful remarks, but it never felt empty. Behind all the teasing, he was a protector through and through 💌🤍. Yes, he brought the humor and definitely had his moments of being the comedic relief, but there was more to him than just the jokes. He was steady, dependable, and knew when to drop the act and show up in real ways. River had that rare mix of charm, honesty, and quiet strength that made him more than just the fun one - he was someone who could be counted on when it really mattered 🥺💖💗🩷💓.

River never pretended to care that it was “too soon” to fall for her 💌🤍❤️. In his eyes, it didn’t matter. He was firm in what he felt and made it clear that you didn’t need to know someone for a scent match to be real. To him, that bond was instant and undeniable. He even pointed out how the others’ scents had shifted too, proving that they were all compatible. He wasn’t subtle about it either - he was trying hard to get them together, like a one-man matchmaking mission with zero patience. He knew what he wanted, and he wasn’t shy about making it happen. I love him 💖!!!

— ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ OVERALL⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆—

They were all lover boys, through and through 💖🌸🩷💗🌷. Each one of them made sure she had a home, a safe place to stay, and they vowed to protect her no matter what came from the fire at the rental. They didn’t hesitate. They didn’t hold back. They were her protectors, her defenders - men who fell hard and fast because the bond was real. Scent matches. My boys!!!

“Hot Knot Summer” is perfect for those who love a small town omegaverse story. It’s cute, with protective alphas, besties for life, and an underlying storyline that adds a bit of suspense to the bigger romantic plot. Most of all, I enjoyed the banter between these characters. River is such a goof, but in all the best ways. Emma herself explains it as him being the heart of the pack, and that is spot on.

Even though the three new men in Emma’s life have been a pack for years, there is no MM whatsoever included in their pack. They are a family, and I could really feel that throughout their story. As characters, I feel like the author sticks a bit to the surface with each of them. We learn a bit about their past, but in a rather unemotional way, and while it’s enough for the story, I still missed those moments where the author could have dug a bit deeper.

All in all, it was a cute and lovely smalltown omegaverse, perfect for those moments you just want an uncomplicated storyline to get lost in.

One fire & three hot firefighters and Emma finds herself in one Hot Knot Summer.

What was supposed to be a romantic vacay with her boyfriend ends up being a solo trip, after she finds him cheating on her. Throwing in the towel, Emma vows to give up alphas……that is until River, Levi, and Atlas come to her rescue.

Another sizzling hot romance from this author. Emma’s plight brings a sense of realism and the alphas bring the heat. The little flare of danger tied this story together nicely.

If you’re looking for fluff and a cozy omegaverse read, then this book belongs on your TBR list this summer.

This book was super cute Whispering Grove is one of those places you wish were real. The town had charm for days, the characters were fun and mostly likable, and the relationships felt genuine and sweet.

But… the details were kind of all over the place. There were contradictions and location swaps that made me stop and flip back just to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind. Spoiler: I wasn’t. The story just needed someone to catch those things before it hit the shelves. It threw me off way more than it should have.

Still, I want more Whispering Grove. I just hope future books get a little more love on the editing front because this world deserves it.

Omega Author - Emma (FMC) ends up in Whispering Grove on a break away after breaking up with her cheating Ex. One fire and 3 hot firemen - Atlas, River and Levi leads Emma to becoming a guest in their home. Close proximity opens all of them up to plenty of naughtiness as well as the guys protectiveness towards Emma. A great addition to the Whispering Grove series and a good read with characters I really liked.

Small town/ why choose/ omegaverse/ knotting/ forced proximity/ OW/OM drama/ MFMM/ age gap/ HEA

Trigger warning: cheating(not MCs)/ arson/ neglectful parenting/ violence/ manipulation/ death of a loved one

The storyline was ok but it didn’t feel as organic as it could have been. I had figured out who caused the fire fairly quickly but I didn’t have the motive until they talked about it at the end. Between the ex friend and the coworker, I felt like the OW drama was unnecessary. Yes, the coworker went through something horrible but that doesn’t excuse her being inappropriate and rude to the FMC.

The scene where the FMC was struggling to go through her heat alone was heartbreaking but aside from that I didn’t really get emotional at any other point in the story. I wish we had gotten more of the small town vibes that this book was going for but it fell short in my opinion. Additionally, there could have been way more spice.

I loved this OV based in whispering grove! Poor Emma has been through the ringer with her ex! The book had some drama from the ex and OW, suspense and mystery trying to figure out what happened with Emma’s rental cabin, and spice with some firefighting alphas who won’t give up on their scent match omega.

It's going to be a hot, hot summer in Whispering Grove. MFC, Emma sure knows how to pick 'em. It's been one bad boyfriend after another, and her ex, Chad, was the last straw. She's done. No more alphas. I really liked Emma; she's cool as shit. She's a bestselling fantasy author, sarcastic as hell, smart, and funny. She could be one of my people. It irks me that she's letting the dickhole exes win by closing off her heart, and she doesn't even realize it.

Even when three FaH alphas (who are scent matches) make their interest known, she stops herself from getting too attached, which is really hard because they are great. Atlas is protective, River is playful but with a deep side, and Levi is logical but flirty. Best of all, they showed up for her at every turn. Plus, they were a cohesive pack. Family who are there for each other and have their own private jokes. Their banter alone made me fall hard. It was a relief when they finally won Em over, and they did it just by being themselves.

The story was good. It all starts with a really crap day for Emma that culminates in her rental catching fire with her inside. It was very dramatic and certainly got my adrenaline pumping. While the fire is under investigation, she can't leave town, but with a festival going on, she now has nowhere left to stay. River, Levi, and Atlas come to the rescue by offering to let her stay at their place. The romance was top-notch. The banter was good, with fun dates, laughter, bonding moments, and more. It was a peace that Emma never felt before, and she finally lets herself give in to her feelings and instincts. It was so good. With the romance taking up much of the plot, I totally forgot all about the fire. There was a fair bit of chaos surrounding that, and the plot twist was good.

Harley Knight has become one of my favorite omegaverse authors. The Whispering Grove is a cozy omegaverse romance. Hot Knot Summer was a great read; I'm looking forward to more from this series.

This is a standalone book in the Whispering Grove series. I hadn’t read book one prior to this one, but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything by not doing so. I did go back and read the other 2 released books in the series after I finished Hot Knot Summer, because I really enjoyed this story and the Whispering Grove community.

In Hot Knot Summer, Emma had a romantic vacation planned with her boyfriend Chad. The romantic vacay for 2 ended up being a solo trip for Emma when she finds out Chad is a lying, no-good, cheating McCheaterson who was sleeping with one of Emma’s friends. Emma takes the news about as well as expected, but resolves to enjoy the vacation and get some writing done on her novel.

On the airplane, she ends up sitting next to Atlas. He helps her get thru her fear of flying and provides her a bit of needed writing inspiration, but Emma isn’t looking for another relationship - especially not with an Alpha.

She settles into her cabin, but her horrible luck holds when the cabin burns down the first night. Unfortunately, the town is overbooked and packed with tourists, so there’s no other place for her to stay. And she can’t leave town, because she’s a potential suspect over the cabin fire.

The firefighters who came to Emma’s rescue from the fire come to her rescue again - by inviting her to stay at the fire station - and later their home.

They’re all great guys, but is Emma ready to open herself up to another relationship with anyone, much less three Alphas?

I really enjoyed this book a lot. It’s a cozy spicy read!

Omegaverse
RH (NO MM)
Firefighting Alphas
Author Omega

Our FMC, Emma, had a romantic vacation planned with her boyfriend Chad. Too bad (or not so bad) it ended up being a solo trip for Emma after she finds out Chad is a lying cheating alphahole who was sleeping with one of Emma’s “friends”. Emma decides to keep her head up and enjoy the vacation to work on her novel.

On the plane ride to her solo getaway, she ends up sitting next to a very handsome Alpha- Atlas. He helps her get through her fear of flying and provides her with a bit of inspiration for her book. Once Emma settles into her cabin, her bad luck decides to strike again. Her cabin burns down on the first night. Her bad luck continues when the town is overbooked and packed with tourists, leaving her without anywhere else to stay. But wait, there’s more…. Shes also a potential suspect for the cabin fire.

Poor Emma has been through enough with choosing the wrong guy. As if Chad cheating wasn’t enough, now she’s stuck without a place to stay…. Well, until the three firefighters who saved her decide to step in and offer her a place at the firehouse with them and then their own home.

Even after meeting her three scent matches, she keeps herself from getting attached for fear of being burned again. Good thing her soon-to-be Alphas are firefighters. Because who could keep Atlas, River, and Levi at arms length?

This book was funny, sweet, and a fantastic read!

After catching her boyfriend cheating with her friend, Emma decided to take the trip to Whispering Grove that they had planned together. Sure, it wouldn't be the romantic trip she had hoped for, but it would be a chance to heal and hopefully get beyond her writer's block, so she can crank out her next bestseller. But on her first night there, she nearly dies in a house fire. She's told to stay in town during the investigation into the fire, but the town is celebrating its summer festival and there's not a room to spare. That's when the firemen who saved her step in. When they offer her a place to stay, she has no choice, but it doesn't hurt that they are gorgeous, smell delicious, and have a house that unlocks her creativity. And when her heat hits unexpectedly, there's no better place she could be. But she's made bad decisions before with Alphas. Can she trust herself this time?

This book was heartwarming and entertaining. The town is fantastic, the characters were well-developed and mostly likable, and the relationships were great. However, the author let too many inconsistencies slip through. Multiple times, Emma said one thing, then contradicted herself. Locations changed, actions were altered, or accounts were different. Details matter. The inconsistencies made me crazy. The book needed a critique partner (like me). I want more Whispering Grove, but I do hope better care is taken of the details in the other books.

Rounded a little bit up to 4 stars

This is a really sweet and lighthearted OV, with low angst but just enough drama to stay interesting. I think one of the best parts of this book is the settings. The author did a great job of moving around the town while also providing a lot of great detail that painted a really fantastic picture. Honestly, this felt very hallmark movie coded which I love. And I know that the title is literally Knot Hot Summer, but this book has major fall vibes. Tbh that just shows how cozy it is.

I really enjoyed the pining on all sides. The FMC desperately trying to deny their chemistry while the guys were all following her around like puppy dogs. So cute and made for a "slow-ish" burn which isn't all that common in OV.

The reason I personally didn't rate this novel higher is that basically all of the drama was either dealt with in seconds or just passed over quickly. There was good build up and I felt like things could've been flushed out a little more considering how many pages this book is. The other part that I didn't love was how nonchalant the mate bonds were. Now this is in fact something I consider a key defining part of OV books, so to have the scent match be not completely agreed upon on severity level, and then to have the mate bonds be treated like it was just another thing felt off. Not a deal breaker, but if you're going to be in this genre I say lean all the way in.

Poor Emma really had some awful luck with alphas and was literally fresh from a breakup when she headed to Whispering grove for what was supposed to be a relaxing, healing break. Some peace and quiet, a chance to get some writing done but fate had other ideas. First it dangled the heroically sexy alpha Atlas in her path on the plane a “last minute standby” then when she didn’t get the hint fate gave up on subtlety and literally threw her into the arms of not only Atlas but also his pack mates Levi and River. Fate knew they were destined for each other and it wasn’t ashamed to cause more than a little chaos to make sure that happened!
I loved watching the 3 very distinct and different personalities of the 3 alphas and how they all matched perfectly with Emma separately but also meshed so well together, that I felt was very well written. Great chemistry between them too and great build up to scenes so lots of tension which I love. I’d definitely read more books written around this group if the author decided to write more. Felt the book launch and discussion of weddings and babies could definitely open up to more books. Can we also have the cowboy book too pretty please?
I liked the idea of the Chad and Megan subplot but it felt rushed and disjointed. Way more could have been done with that or fitted into the storyline better at least.

Dear Readers,

Filing today: Hot Knot Summer by Harley Knight. A heartbroken writer flees to the mountains seeking solitude, only to find herself in the company of three dangerously attractive firefighters who offer her both shelter and complication.

Emma arrives determined to avoid Alphas and finish her book in peace. Instead, her cabin goes up in flames, and she lands in the home of Atlas, River, and Levi. The arrangement may look like happenstance, but it doesn’t take long for questions to rise alongside the heat. Who lit the first fire, and what exactly is kindling between them in this small-town retreat?

My Thoughts:
Up until about the 78% mark, I was really enjoying myself. The alphas were hot, their friendship dynamic had great chemistry, and the story carried just enough suspense to keep the pages turning. But somewhere near the end, it fell flat for me. Emma’s indecisiveness and insecurity started to feel more frustrating than endearing, which dulled some of my excitement. That said, I don’t doubt many readers will enjoy it more than I did, especially if small-town Omegaverse, assertive Alphas, good banter, and a touch of danger are your bread and butter. For me, it was a fun but ultimately forgettable read.

Oh, my goodness, life, first my boyfriend Chad dumps me, and of course it is with my girlfriend Megan! I leave to stay in the rented cabin we were both going to use to finish the book that the deadline is coming up on, then the most gorgeous Alpha sits next to me on the plan (note to self no more alphas I am swearing off men, but oh he smells so good). When I land and check in to the cabin, I go to the grocery store to get some food items and run into Megan! What is she doing here? When I get back to the cabin and go to unpack, I have Chad’s bag so I have none of my clothes. What else can happen? How about waking up to the cabin on fire! The cabin is gone and the small town of Whispering Grove is full of visitors due to its annual summer festival, and there is no available place to rent. Who should rescue me? The handsome man from the plane and he and his packmates are all just so handsome and firefighters! Also, my heat is early. Is the world out to get me? Now I am being accused of starting the fire? What next! As you can see you really must read this story I mean 3 hot men, mystery, mayhem, fraud and hey you won’t be sorry. Turn on the fan (for those love scenes) get your snack and drink of choice and settle in.

Emma annoyed the shit out of me. She was SO insecure, meek, and just a mess. The whole bonding this was weird. She asked them meekly “please bite me?” Blah! Then after she thinks she has to go back and is shocked that they want her to move in with them?! Idiot. It was exhausting to read her inner dialogue and self doubt. Then they constantly have to reassure her of their feelings but then blurts out she loves them and is so surprised that they love her back?! Seriously I cannot say how much she annoyed me.
Then threatened with the law suit and she’s all “I ruin everything, everything turns to ash around me, you’ll all leave me, wah!” Girl get your shit together. Do you not know what bonding means?? Fucking whiny baby…

Also the amount of emergencies in this so-called-small-town is ridiculous. Arson, insurance fraud, chemical exposures? 7 calls in 8 hours? Mmkkkk…

Atlas- he was so great! Protector and leader of the pack, he was so good to Emma and patient with her

Levi- I loved his nerdy vibe and how he understood Emma’s brain

River- fun goofy retriever vibe and how he embraced his feelings for Emma right away. Also who doesn’t love a Jacob’s ladder?!
Honestly the guys gave the book its stars- they were everything! Emma sucks.

Emma just broke up with her jerk of a boyfriend and has a deadline for her next book approaching. She escapes to the quaint town of Whispering Grove to find her writing groove, but trouble follows. Her cabin burns down and she nearly dies. Luckily there are three gorgeous firefighters who are willing to put everything on the line for her. Emma tries to fight the attraction, but she can't deny her growing feelings to the Alphas. Yet will her past destroy what could be a bright future?

Another fantastic cozy reverse harem Omegaverse romance in Whispering Grove. I love returning to this beautiful little town with its familiar characters and meeting hot new Alphas. Atlas, River, and Levi sizzle on these pages. The cherry on top of their delicious Alpha cake is their luxury log cabin with a renovated fire tower. I sympathized with Emma immediately who was still recovering from her breakup and trying to make her deadline, but nothing seems to go her way. There were some great twists in the fire investigation, and I loved how everything came together. I can't wait for more stories from Whispering Grove.

Oh my god!! Okay this author is definitely becoming one of my faves! Like with her other book I was hooked from start to finish! I love an omegaverse and she seems to perfect them.

“My grandmother used to say that love finds you when you need it most, not when you’re searching for it,” I continue. “I wasn’t looking for this… for you three. I was just trying to survive. But somehow, you found me, anyway.”

Emma’s alpha bf breaks up with her, to be with her friend Megan. But she gets the cabin they booked for the week, which she intends to write her upcoming book. As she went to bed she wakes to a fire, and is rescued by firefighters, who happen to be 3 hot alphas River, Levi and Atlas. The cabin has been burned down to the crisp leaving Emma with nowhere to go and she’s unable to leave town due to the investigation of the fire! Which is where the alphas invite her to stay at the station… which works for a few days but the alphas want better for her so they invite her to stay with them, after abit she agrees! The chemistry between them all is fantastic! And it wasn’t long until their connections blossomed.

Overall a phenomenal read and I am in love with this author!

Preface: This review is my opinion only. Yours may be different. Neither is wrong and that's ok.

So firstly, I haven't read book 1 in the series, but don't feel I've missed anything by not doing so, other than probably a great read! This is also the first book by Harley Knight that I've read, but definitely cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

This is a MFMM storyline, with broken hearts, self doubt and empowerment.

The characters were great. Normally I find Omegaverse tropes to be a bit repeatable, and I got that a little bit with the constant self doubt of the FMC, and was really the reason for the 4 star rating. Other than that, all the characters were well written, the 4 alphas (incl Chad) were very different from each other, and that worked well.

There are smexy scenes, but the big hitting scenes aren't until about 40-50% of the way through, and include imaginary scenes as well as inclusive scenes, all extremely well written - I often find, after reading a lot of smexy scenes (in many other books), that if they're boring/repeatable, I tend to start skipping, but hoowee not this book! Out of a 5 chilli spice, I would rank this as a 3 chillis.

Emma was supposed to go on this vacation with her boyfriend Chad where she was hoping he was finally going to claim and mark her. Only three days before they were supposed to leave he decides her scent is wrong and breaks up with her just before she finds out he is cheating with her friend Megan.
Deciding to go on this trip solo she arrives in Whispering Grove with the intention of working on writing her new book but fate decides to intervene and things don't quite go as she originally planned.

I loved the first book in the series but I loved this one even more! There was a little intrigue and mystery surrounding the fire in the cabin. Emma was sure she put out all candles so how did the fire start? And why have Megan and Chad ended up coming to Whispering Grove and why is his bag of designer clothes so important to him?
I also loved the three firefighter Alphas, Atlas, River and Levi - they were competetive but in a fun way and fell hard and fast for Emma.
I am really looking for the next book in the series because if it is as good as the first two books we are in for a treat

This book is a steamy and emotional reverse harem romance set in a remote mountain cabin. The main character, a bestselling author, escapes to the cabin to heal after being hurt by people she once trusted. She doesn’t expect to lose everything in a fire or to be rescued by three Alpha firefighters—Atlas, River, and Levi.

Each Alpha has a different personality: Atlas is strong and serious, River is playful, and Levi is quiet but intense. Even though she doesn’t want to trust anyone, their kindness and care start to break through her walls. When her heat comes earlier than expected, she has to decide whether to open up to them or keep running from love.

The story is full of emotional healing, slow-burning romance, and hot scenes between the Omega and her three Alphas. It's also about finding strength after heartbreak and learning to trust again.

This is a fun, easy-to-read story with lots of passion and heart. If you enjoy books with protective Alphas, a strong but hurt heroine, and emotional romance, you’ll enjoy this one. It’s a great mix of heat, love, and personal growth.

this book was good! three hot firefighters??? omegaverse???! SIGN ME UP!

but also i thought there was not alot of romance, it was more about them wanting to fuck her. I felt as though we don’t really know much about them, apart from their backstory’s which are mentioned once. They all come together at around the 70% mark, so it’s still a ‘slow burn’ but it didn’t really feel that way to me since it’s only around a couple weeks in the story. They bonded when she went into heat which imo felt a bit rushed and just the author thinking they need to be bonded some way so let’s just shove it in here. Maybe bonding in this world is different compared to others? But i feel as though in typical Omegaverse worlds it’s a big thing and takes alot of thought and getting to know each other which i felt like they didn’t do, half the book was them trying to persuade her into accepting them so I didn’t feel that typical romance getting to know each other.

Otherwise was a fun read palate cleanser.

Spice 4 out of 5

Love a small town spicy read and what is better than forced proximity with not one but three guys! Emma is an author on her way to a cabin in a small town after a breakup with her ex, she actually meets one of the guys on the plane and he helps her through the turbulence and you could see the sparks fly! I did like however that she’s like ‘I just had a terrible relationship I don’t need another’ yea go take some time for yourself. Thought that’s short lived as the cabin burns down she’s saved by the same man turned firefighter from the plane and meets his pack, river the goofy one and Levi the quiet smart one. It was a cute book, but I did feel like there was some small lack of story here, it just seemed a little squished together and like every happens over a few day( probably not but felt like it) but even so I did like the guys pushing and showing they are there for her and her alone and didn’t give up, showed her what she needed. And of course it an omegaverse, like the spice is spicing, together or separately they all were involed.

I loved this book! It's one of a series of connected standalones, and I love catching up a little with previous characters, as well as visiting the cozy mountain town.

Emma's an omega who's been through some bad luck, and runs into Atlas when heading off to get over things. Atlas is the chief of the fire department, and part of a pack of three alphas, all of whom have their own histories.

As the guys keep reminding Emma, she's a lot stronger than she thinks she is. In fact, all of them provide something that the others need, leading to a wonderfully strong pack.

Not only are the main characters great, but the supporting cast is fun, too. As mentioned, we get to revisit some previous characters, but there are some new ones as well, including a few I hope we see more of in future. I even felt a lot of sympathy for Clare, and I'd love to see her get a second chance.

Overall, I loved this book,a nd I can't wait for the next trip back there!

Jumping into another Harley Knight book, I was excited to start, but this one didn’t quite have the same appeal as her others. We’re introduced to Emma and her airplane seat companion, Atlas, and later meet River and Levi. There’s plenty of close proximity and strong chemistry, and I did enjoy the dynamic between the characters. They weren’t just putting out fires, but struggling with their own desires too.

Even though I liked the characters, the plot didn’t hold my interest as much as I’d hoped. There was a lot of emotion, but at times it felt forced or uneven. Emma’s journey, while relatable in heartbreak and chaos, didn’t flow like someone with a truly strong backbone. I wanted to connect with her more than I did.

Overall, I enjoyed parts of the story and the tension between the characters, but it just didn’t pull me in the way I expected. I finished it, but found myself skimming more than getting lost in the pages.

This book was really really good! The plot was interesting and the twists were surprising, usually I'm able to kind of predict what is going to happen or who did what, but this time that wasn't the case. Things progressed naturally and the situations were full of emotion. I found myself gasping when something surprising happened to Emma. I loved how her whole story was about her being an author. And the moments of Emma's author brain taking over and comparing how things would happen in a story compared to reality. Atlas, Levi and River were perfect for Emma, and the banter and friendship that was on display between the three of them was amazing to read, and hilarious. The chemistry between Emma and her men was wild from the beginning and I always love a multiple POV book because then you get to see their reactions and thoughts.

Of course, I'm always a sucker for reoccurring characters, and Lily, Ruby, and Hannah made me laugh out loud so many times. It really makes me happy when they come in naturally and it doesn't feel like someone is just adding them in for no reason.

My favourite thing ever though, is the way Harley integrated her book (Knot my problem, Cowboy) into this book. So clever, unique and so much fun, and I knew I had to read it once i was done in Whispering Grove.

I enjoyed this book so much, Highly Recommend.

One heartbreak after another and this last one right before Emma was supposed to go on vacation with her lying, cheating ex-boyfriend. She didn’t realize that her encounter with the mysterious stranger on the plane was only the beginning. If heartbreak wasn’t enough, she finds the cabin rental with no electricity, the duffle she grabbed wasn’t hers and she wakes up to a fire she is rescued from by the gorgeous stranger from the plane. Left with nothing and unable to leave town during one of the busiest seasons in the small town the stranger offers her help and she meets two others and she tries to resist her attraction to all three. I love how these guys didn’t push her and let everything happen naturally while showing her not every Alpha is horrible. This was such a great read and I cannot wait to read the next in this series.
