I am sure this was written on hastily handwritten notebooks during the intensity of fighting. S. L. A. Marshall was a old timer from past wars.He gave his best support to the troops, but he lacked verified information when he transcribed those killed or wounded. He made mistakes so if your loved one is mentioned, I hope, for your sake, that he described the right man in the right place at the right time.

"And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night."
