Surrender to the laws of attraction – and prepare for combustion. Dr. Lou Wright is a world-renowned physicist who prides herself on logic, reason, and research-backed decisions. But when it comes to Noah Anderson? All bets are off. He's magnetic, maddening, and makes her brain short-circuit. After a hilariously disastrous attempt to act on her feelings, Lou convinces herself that the chemistry was one-sided. Cue avoidance, awkward lab run-ins, and mounting tension. But Noah? He's not giving up that easily. With undeniable attraction, sharp banter, and workplace tension that sparks, Lou and Noah are about to break more than just the rules of professional conduct.
Rebel Carter loves love. So much in fact that she decided to write the love stories she desperately wanted to read. A book by Rebel means diverse characters, sexy banter, a real big helping of steamy scenes, and, of course, a whole lotta heart.
Rebel lives in Colorado, makes a mean espresso, and is hell-bent on filling your bookcase with as many romance stories as humanly possible!
This book is maddening It has potential and on every turn you see it Glimpsing through the horrid inner monologue of a very skittish woefully ignorant supposed super scientist And she is just repeating “but he was with someone else when i came to his door unannounced ( yes it was shitty- no it does not warrant the FIVE CHAPTERS of wasted breath the narrator had to voice out) This character is so incredibly oblivious and plain stupid that i almost “ripped out my hair in frustration” and it is unfortunately not a figure of speech , but i will not let you win lou, not you She is the worst type of crossover between ostrich (put your head in the sand) and rabbit ( bolt at the slightest change in air pressure) And still you kissed the dreamy wonderful man that PUTS UP WITH YOU and CONFESSED HOS FEELINGS And u still bolt to your bedroom like a skiddish horse ? There is no universe in which that reaction makes sense NO WAY Shut up and kiss already and stop wasting my 🦆ing time !!!!!!!!
In case it isn’t obvious yet, i will not finish this book I wasted 2h and 52 min on plot that could be summed up in 10 minutes
- I felt like Lou in this book was so different from the first one, especially the epilogue. - And the conflict in this book felt off. To start off with Lou was constantly going on about a ‘not date’ she and Noah went on and how much she thought it was a date. But then she didn’t want a relationship anyway but was hurt by this ‘not date’. And then her and Noah seemed to make up so quickly that it was a bit weird. - Again, there was conflict with like an hour left of the book and it felt so late in the story. We found out about Noah being there and why. And Lou was justified to be annoyed but then it was all settled in a few minutes. It just seemed like a pointless thing to add in at the end of the book. - Overall, I think if you read the first one then maybe give this one a go but if you don’t get a chance then you aren’t missing out on too much of the story.
This is the worst book I have ever come across. If it would have been a regular book I would dnf 4 chapters in, but as an audio book it was okay for me to laugh at and cringe while I paint.
This is a second book in a duology and I don’t think I needed to read the first one before this, so I don’t know why I feel like half the book is missing???? I don’t care about the FMC&MMC at all, we don’t know them and why they love each other other than what they explicitly told us AFTER they had scenes that needed context- that’s right, context is missing throughout this whole book. Everything is explained to me, I didn’t have any pages where I saw the lingering looks or the want between them. Just that they jumped to it.
The writer didn’t know what to focus on, they wanted everything there but nothing they hoped was said and accomplished. Bad writing is all it is
I was a bit disappointed with both the hero snd heroine in this one. They jus didn't feel right and dialogue seemed off. There was potential but I don't feel it was met.
