I have been so excited to read these stories. Bear with me as I can be slow, but I love these authors and I know they are all going to be fabulous. I will add each review as I go, so sit back and enjoy.

The storm between us - Lizzie C. Koz
Tortured angst like only a broken man can deliver. Poor Eli lost everything in a carriage accident, leaving him alone with debilitating wounds. 5 years later, he has created a gaping hole where Margot used to reside on his life. Watching these two deal with the aftermath of the accident, my heart bled for them. He is so broken and now struggles not only with physical damage but also the hit to his esteem. The struggles that she faces to get him to see his own worth, and the value of their relationship are harsh obstacles to overcome. But if anyone can do it, it’s Margot. This girl has never met a rule she doesn’t challenge. No man, be it her brother or the man himself, is going to keep her from her hearts desire. I admire her determination and grit. I also loved the ever eager to encourage Aunt Gem. This is so clearly where Margot gets her spirit. The woman is a delight. I thoroughly enjoyed the ache of this story, angst is my love language and this has it in spades. Add to that the delicious sexual tension and you’ve got a fabulous story.

The Forbidden Storm - Christina Diane
A true class divide story filled with forbidden love, sneaking around and untamed love. Lucy has always been the dutiful right up until she finds herself falling for a stable hand. Once the reins of society expectations have been tested, it is no holds barred as she battles for the right to happiness. I loved Lucy’s determination, she took a page out of her cousin Margot’s book and shook off expectation for freedom. She knew what she wanted (and who she absolutely did Not) and she let nothing stand in her way. Clive is a devoted servant of her and her alone, with a few secrets to learn along the way. Their connection was slow & steady, the storm within brewing over time. The only question that mattered, love or duty but we all know Love always Wins!
A sweet & tender story of making your way in the world and charting your own path.

A Rascal, A Romantic and A Rarity (Once Upon a Widow novella)- Aubrey Wynne
Phoebe Weston and Charles Wilkins
Phoebe, daughter of Viscount Weston, was ecstatic to be spending Christmastide in London with her fiance, the Earl of Kendall, and his parents. Since her father was joining a friend’s house party in the country, her Aunt Lucy would be her chaperone. Upon reaching London, Phoebe received an annonymous letter warning of Lord Kendall’s indiscretions and his public flaunting of his current mistress. Alarmed, Phoebe had a discussion with Lord Kendall and misinterpreted his answer. When she caught him with a maid she learned that he had no intention of being faithful and was only marrying her for her dowry. Distressed, Phoebe broke the engagement and went to be with her father at Lord Beecham’s house party. Meanwhile, Charles Wilkins, a London solicitor, was walking in Hyde Park with his cousins when he first spotted Phoebe and was completely smitten. As luck would have it, Charles ended up sitting next to her at a dinner party where the two of them had several enjoyable conversations. On December 23rd, Charles joined his friend Will on Will’s journey home where Charles would stay for the night before heading to Lady Winfield’s house party, where he was expected to complete a business deal for his uncle. One thing led to another and Will’s brother Lucius ended up attending in his stead, which was fortunate because a very distressed Phoebe showed up looking for her father. What follows is a lovely tale filled with multple couples, their drama, and proof that someone truly can fall in love at first sight. This story includes emotional turmoil, several surprises and a delightful nod to ‘it takes a village’ and serendipity.
As an aside, this story dovetails with A Scoundrel’s Christmas Challenge (Once Upon a Widow #9), telling the story of the solicitor Charles Wilkins, who entrusted his uncle’s house party invitation to Lucius Page; and Once Upon a Wassail Punch (Once Upon a Widow #8), wherein Lord Weston and Lady Annette’s relationship begins.

Tangled in a Tempest - Dawn Brower
Lady Phillipa (Pippa) and Christopher Wright Duke of Haverleigh
Christopher Hall and James Hartwell had been best friends at Eaton. At fourteen, Christopher became the Duke of Haverleigh and ten years later, James became the Earl of Whitmore. Both of their fathers had died unexpectedly, and each had been there for the other during that time. After his father’s death, Christopher spent time with James at his home where he met Phillipa (Pippa), his friend’s obnoxious younger sister. There was just something about her that got under his skin and every time they met jabs, barbs, and sparks would fly. It wasn’t until Christopher was at Whitemore Hall to support the mourning James that things changed. Pippa was out riding when she was caught in an unexpected and intense storm. Drenched, she headed for an old hunting lodge on the property, only to find that Christopher had already sought shelter there. As the storm raged, their passion mounted and feelings denied for so long became apparent. This story is steeped in loss and surrounded by friendship. It is a quick emotional journey from despair to delight with some powerful healing in the process.

Rogue to the Rescue - Jane Charles
Lady Victoria Westbrook and Mr. Benedick Valentine
Lady Victoria, the daughter of the Earl of Norbright, met Mr. Benedick Valentine, an investigator with the Thames River Police, at Lady Grisham’s summer house party where all of the guests were required to wear masks until the big reveal at the end of the party. Their attraction was immediate and their connection was strong and passionate, but everything went wrong when the masks came off, leaving Victoria heartbroken. Now her brother-in-law had engaged Benedick to protect Victoria from additional harm. She and her sister had established Westbrook House, as a haven for those who had nowhere else to go. A man had accosted Victoria in front of her home, threatening bodily harm if she did not return Ruby, whom he had forced into prostitution and had arrived at Westbrook House with a black eye and split lip, to him. Victoria was still heartbroken even after seven months or so, and did not want Benedick in her home. Of course it was the illusion of choice, and after he set up the necessary protection, the two of them finally had a discussion about what had happened. Things were still tense even after the misunderstandings were clarified, but a dangerous incident and a secret revelation finally put pride in its place and led to a happy ending. This story is a lesson on misinterpretations and pride. Victoria’s secret is a stunner, leaving Benedick grappling with his status and gender role beliefs. Once again, love prevails and the ending is quite adorable.

The Storm Between Us- Lizzie C Kox
Margot Ainsworth and Elias (Eli) Wyndham Lord Steelhaven
At nineteen, Margot Ainsworth was in love with her brother Hugo’s twenty-one year old best friend Elias (Eli) Wyndham. She was so sure he was going to offer for her, and then he disappeared from her life. Five years later, Hugo had asked Eli to accompany Margot to their aunt’s house party, keeping her out of trouble until he could join them. Knowing things would be terribly uncomfortable, Eli reluctantly agreed. Five years ago, Eli had been planning to ask for Margot’s hand in marriage, but he was in a carriage accident that killed both of his parents and left him scarred and unable to walk for a long time. Now he was angry, bitter, suffered serious nightmares and bouts of darkness, lived with pain and walked with a limp. He purposely carved Margot out of his life to protect both of them. Fast forward and they are at the house party with Eli running interference for Margot. A few verbal altercations, one enlightening conversation, a stormy carriage incident, and a waltz later, and an understanding was reached. This story shimmers with intensity, will engage every emotion from fear to elation, and leave you reeling in the fortitude of the heart and the power of love.

Their Forbidden Storm - Christina Diane
Lady Lucy and Clive Jones
Lady Lucy Lygon was the daughter of the Duke of Ashburn. At nineteen she fell hard for Clive Jones, a very handsome man who worked in the stsbles. For two years she endured her parents’ matchmaking attempts, even though her heart belonged to Clive. Things came to a head when her parents threw a house party that include the pompous Lord Rutherford, whom they wanted Lucy to marry. Her cousin Margot and Lady Augusta ran interference so that Lucy could see her beau and avoid Lord Rutherford as much as possible. Unfortunately Lucy arrived while her jealous and previously rebuffed lady’s maid Sarah was trying to seduce and blackmail Clive, sending her fleeing on horseback. He went in search of her when an unexpected storm hit, and they both took refuge in a nearby cabin. A masquerade ball, her parents’ insistence on a betrothal to Lord Rutherford, an ultimatum and a revelation by Lady Ashford, all led to the lovebirds being together. This is a sweet story that crosses class lines and speaks to the courage of following ones heart and defying the social norm. Margot is a hoot, Lady Augusta is a heroine, and Lucy and Clive get their happily everafter.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl - Ramona Elmes
Mrs Philomena Aster and Matthew, the Earl of Stanhope
Philomena Aster was a young widow who had been the governess for the Earl of Stanhope’s neice and nephew for the past four years. Pippa and Adam had lost their parents in a train accident five years ago and had been living with the earl, their Uncle Matthew, and their grandmother ever since. Declaring that it was time for her thirty year old son to marry, the Dowager arranged a house party inviting young ladies whom she hoped that he would find suitable. However, a twisted ankle, an intense thunderstorm and a steamy encounter in a hunting cottage, opened Matthew’s eyes to his love for Philomena and his desire to marry her. Philomenia resisted knowing that an earl marrying his governess would create a huge scandal, but her heart already belonged to Matthew, Pippa and Adam. Things got ugly when Lady Bevlin and Lady Juliet spewed venom at Philomena in front of the children, but much to their disgust, love prevailed. This is a delightful heartfelt story showcasing love blooming from friendship, and life continuing after loss. Pippa and Adam are good kids who clearly adore both their uncle and their governess and were hoping that they would make a match. I love that several bets took place behind the earl’s back and that the two vicious ladies were the real losers in the story. As Imogen says ‘another rogue shackled’ and what could be better than that?

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke - Aileen Fish
Charlotte Harrow and Frederick the Duke of Thornton
Twenty-nine year old Charlotte had come to the country to stay with her brother Neal and his very pregnant wife Rebecca. While there, her matchmaking brother introducted her to Cecil Popple, who was a viscount’s son and a gentleman farmer. He was very nice, agriculturally educated and extremely dull. During her stay, she caught several glimpses of the Duke of Thorton whom she had met at her counsin’s wedding and whose country estate was in that area. As the Duke was good friends with Cecil, he was included, along with Cecil’s younger sister, in many of their outings. It was clear to all involved that Neal was keen on the match and Cecil seemed so intent on courting Charlotte that he asked the Duke to assist him. The Duke provided flowers and beautifully written notes for Cecil to give her. Fast forward and the Duke finds himself decidedly interested in pursuing Charlotte for himself, even though she is furious with him since discovering he, not Cecil, was the author of the notes. Add a sudden rainstorm, and a baby’s arrival, and you have love and forgiveness leading the way. Charlotte’s indicision and anguish as she struggles between her head and heart is palpable, and the Duke’s attention is somewhat of a surprise, as by nature of his title he must have ladies throwing themselves at him, and Charlotte seems rather fare beneath his notice. But the heart wants what the heart wants and for him it is Charlotte. The suitors range from awkward to suave, and Charlotte’s familial relationships are endearing.

How the Girl Got The Earl - Amanda Mariel
Lady Alexandra Peregrine and Mangus Berkshire Earl of Langley
Lady Alexandra Peregrine is the third daughter of the Earl of Whitby, and although she has ladylike manners, she has a mind of her own which often leaves her hovering on the edge of scandal. Magnus Berkshire, the Earl of Langley, is a ladies’ man with a rakish reputation. A toppling collision in an outdoor maze acquaints the two, sparking Magnus’ interest. He pursues, she deflects and a kiss in the rain seals their fates. You will find playful banter, societal expectations and two people who have been afraid to love and/or be loved. The proposals are grand, and redemption is found in the naming of a horse. Most entertaining!.

What a fun collection of novellas! Every single story was well-written and different, yet they all lived up to the Anthology title of “It’s Raining Rogues”! My overall rating for this book is a rough average of all the novellas, based on my rating of each story.

A Rascal, A Romantic, and A Rarity – Aubrey Wynne
Everything was going according to her plan… Miss Phoebe Weston knows how her life should unfold. She will meet the perfect handsome, titled man during her first Season, fall in love, and live happily ever after. The first two items are accomplished immediately, she assumes the third is checked, and then calamity strikes. Her fiancé was a ghastly womanizer, Phoeve wasn’t sure she ever truly cared him, and her own widowed father had found love before her. Serendipity saves the day… Mr. Charles Wilkens reluctantly agrees to a business trip—on Christmas Day—for his uncle. Along the way, he is thrown together with the woman who stole his heart after one glance in Hyde Park. Her broken engagement could be his chance to win her affection. Would he be a rake to swoop in when she is so vulnerable? Or is all fair in love and war? When reality slaps Miss Phoebe Weston out of her fantasy world, Mr. Charles Wilkens is there to catch her before she hits the cold, unforgiving ground. Can betrayal by one man show her the possibility of true love with another? 4.5 stars; Features a very sweet second chance at love, & love at first sight tropes – includes two secondary romances that have their own stories in other books. This was one of my favorites in the anthology.

Tangled in a Tempest – Dawn Brower
Lady Phillipa "Pippa" Hartwell has spent years loathing the arrogant and insufferable Duke of Haverleigh. Their animosity began when Pippa was just a girl, and the duke, five years older, made it his mission to tease and torment her. As the years passed, their fiery clashes only grew, especially with Haverleigh being her brother’s best friend. Yet, despite the friction between them, Pippa can't ignore the deep-seated attraction that simmers beneath her dislike. Now, a decade later, Pippa’s brother has inherited the earldom, and the duke returns to Whitmore Hall to visit his lifelong friend. Pippa and Haverleigh’s bitter rivalry is as strong as ever, but when a fierce storm traps them together in an old hunting lodge, everything changes. Forced to spend days in each other’s company, the animosity between them shifts—into something far more dangerous: a tempest of passion, longing, and need neither can deny. Can Pippa and Haverleigh overcome their shared past and their mutual hatred to discover a love that neither expected, or will their unresolved emotions tear them apart forever? A tempest of hate, desire, and undeniable love awaits in this tale of passion and second chances. 4 stars; Features an enemies to lovers trope – felt a bit rushed, but overall very good.

Rogue to the Rescue – Jane Charles
They fell in love under the guise of anonymity, but when the masks were removed and the truth revealed, their hearts were shattered. Now Lady Victoria Westbrook is in danger and the only person who can protect her is the very man she had given her heart to not long ago, Mr. Benedick Valentine. While a storm brews outside, will the flames of desire rekindle their hearts or will all be lost if Benedick fails to save her from the danger that stalks? 4.5 stars; Features second chance, misunderstanding, & class difference tropes – series crossover. Another favorite in the anthology.

The Storm Between Us – Lizzie C Koz
He left her with heartbreak. He came back with demons. Margot Ainsworth thought she’d buried the past—along with the boy who shattered her heart. Her brother’s best friend, Eli Wyndham had once been her everything, until tragedy struck and he vanished without a word. Now, five years later, he’s back—scarred, titled, and tasked with watching. 2.5 stars; This ended up being a straight-up Contemporary in Period Dress, it seemed like the author had no desire to even try to adhere to the era standards – but does touch on grief and addiction and addresses those issues with respect and compassion.

Their Forbidden Storm – Christina Diane
Lady Lucy Lygon was raised to obey and play her part. But all she wants is to surrender to the man her world says she can’t have. Clive Jones is off-limits in every way, yet one stolen kiss in the stables ignites a passion too powerful to deny. As desire turns reckless and every forbidden touch risks exposure, Lucy must choose: a life of privilege without love… or a scandalous future. 4 stars; Features class difference, forbidden love, & love conquers all tropes.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl – Ramona Elmes
On the eve of a house party to find him a bride, the Earl of Stanhope and Mrs. Aster, the governess of his niece and nephew, seek refuge in an old hunting cottage during a storm. Shocking them both, they kiss, not just a chaste touching of their lips, but a fiery, earth-shattering embrace. They vow never to speak of it again. However, as guests arrive, they struggle to forget the moment and wonder. 4.5 stars; Features class difference, friends to lovers, & love after lost love tropes. Another favorite in the anthology.

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke – Aileen Fish
A cold-hearted duke. A pragmatic miss. Who will be the first to surrender? Having turned down proposals from three very dull men, Charlotte is less than hopeful when introduced to Cecil. He’s nice enough, but very, very dull. Cecil’s friend the Duke of Thornton comes to the rescue. Thornton’s magical words coming from Cecil’s notes almost sway Charlotte’s heart, but when she learns who’s behind the sweet sentiments, she’s outraged. Her anger intrigues Thornton, who has worked hard to keep his heart locked away. Without realizing, he allows Charlotte a glimpse of the man he could become. And Charlotte never backs away from a challenge. 2 stars; This was miss for me, I found it hard to like the characters, and the attempts to make twists on Cyrano de Bergerac / Pride & Prejudice failed for me, however, I have read and loved other books by this author, so I think this was just a rare miss.

How the Girl got the Earl – Amanda Mariel
Spring is in full bloom, and so is scandal… Lady Alexandra Peregrine has always been more interested in adventure than marriage. But when she finds herself unexpectedly drawn into a flirtation with the roguishly charming Magnus Berkshire, Earl of Langley, she is tempted to indulge in a harmless springtime dalliance. After all, what harm could a fleeting romance bring? Magnus has spent years dodging matchmakers and meddlesome mothers, but Alexandra is unlike any lady he’s ever met—quick-witted, bold, and entirely too tempting. What begins as playful banter and stolen kisses soon turns into something far more dangerous—genuine affection. As society whispers and hearts become entangled, what started as a spring fling threatens to blossom into something far deeper. But can Magnus convince Alexandra that love is not just a passing season, but a promise worth keeping forever? A witty, romantic, and utterly enchanting Regency novella where flirtation turns to forever and love blooms when it’s least expected. 4.5 stars; a delightful battle of the wills that had me smiling like a fool for most of the book.

I loved the interconnecting theme of each couple getting caught in the rain and the love stories that ensued. I had previously read and enjoyed most of these authors, so I knew I was in for a treat, and I was not disappointed. I also found a new to me author that has me anxious to go check out her backlist – even though I already have a TBR pile that is a mile and half high! Overall, this was a great collection of novellas and while I didn’t love all of them, I enjoyed them all and would definitely recommend grabbing this collection while you can!

An enjoyable anthology of 8 novellas, all of which have rain or storm in common. I've read books by all the authors before, but these stories were new to me. They are all very well written, some are touching, others amusing or lighthearted, have different paces, levels of steam and mostly very likable characters.
You‘ll find many popular tropes in this anthology, such as close/forced proximity, love at first sight, he falls first, house party, enemies to lovers, opposites attract, childhood nemesis, brother‘s best friend/best friend’s little sister, second chance at love, class disparity, „Beauty and The Beast“, forbidden love/off-limits, boss-employee and reformed rake…
The stories bring together cinnamon roll heroes, reserved dukes, working class and traumatized heroes, honorable lords and charming rakes with sweet/pampered/spirited/rebellious and carefree ladies, unconventional heroines, independent/romantic spinsters and widowed governesses.
My rating is the average rating of all stories, without going into my preferences.

All in all, a varied and entertaining collection of short stories that I am happy to recommend.

I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

A RASCAL, A ROMANTIC, AND A RARITY
by Aubrey Wynne

A light-hearted romance with strangers to lovers, love at first sight, he falls first and Christmas house party tropes, featuring a sweet cinnamon roll hero and a headstrong, spoilt heroine who I found too moody at times.

Miss Phoebe Weston is already looking forward to the new season in London and her perfect future life, but when she catches her fiancé with another woman, she breaks their engagement.
Solicitor Charles Wilkens is too good-natured when it comes to women and is only ever seen by them as a friend. When he meets Phoebe for the first time, he falls head over heels in love with her, but she is taken. Some time later, he meets her again at a Christmas house party he is attending on business for his uncle and tries to win her over...

TANGLED IN A TEMPEST
by Dawn Brower

An entertaining enemies to lovers story with added opposites attract, childhood nemesis, brother's best friend/best friend's little sister and forced proximity tropes, very likable characters and lots of verbal sparring, tension and chemistry between them.

Ever since the reserved Christopher Wright, Duke of Haverleigh, visited his friend James after his father’s death at his family's country estate for the first time, James' annoying, spirited and sharp witted little sister, Lady Philippa "Pippa" Hartwell, has been getting under his skin. She challenges and provokes him and Christopher tries to avoid her. Years later, when James' father, the Earl of Whitmore, dies unexpectedly, Christopher visits him to help him manage his inherited estates and meets Pippa again, to whom he suddenly finds himself irresistibly attracted...

ROGUE TO THE RESCUE
by Jane Charles

A charming second chance romance with added masked house party and class disparity tropes, a touch of danger and suspense, a bit of steam and featuring a very likable working class hero and a lovable independent spinster. The story is connected to the Westbrook family books.

Lady Victoria Westbrook has founded a foundling home and shelter for desperate women on the run. She meets Benedick Valentine at Lady Grisham's masked house party and the two begin a passionate affair incognito, but at the unmasking at the end Benedick is distant and they lose sight of each other. A few months later, Victoria is attacked by a violent husband of one of her women seeking protection and her brother-in-law hires policeman Benedick, of all people, to protect her...

THE STORM BETWEEN US
by Lizzie C Koz

An enjoyable second chance Regency romance with added brother‘s best friend/best friend‘s sister, house party and „Beauty and The Beast“ tropes, featuring a scarred, traumatized hero and an unconventional, stubborn heroine. The plot is very well written, emotional and has a few steamy love scenes.

For as long as she can remember, Margot Ainsworth has been in love with her brother's best friend, Elias "Eli" Wyndham, and he reciprocated her feelings until a horrific carriage accident killed his parents and left him broken and scarred. Since then, Eli has withdrawn from her and Margot has found passion with other men. When she leaves for a house party with her eccentric aunt, however, her brother asks Eli to accompany her to keep Margot from doing anything reckless…

THEIR FORBIDDEN STORM
by Christina Diane

A delightful forbidden love/off limits romance with added class disparity and house party tropes, emotion, steam and very likable characters.
The story is interconnected with another story in this anthology: „The Storm Between Us“ by Lizzie C Koz

When her parents organise a house party to pressure her into an advantageous marriage, Lucy decides to pursue her love for Clive Jones, a groom at her parents' country estate, with whom she has been in love for years...

CAUGHT IN THE STORM WITH AN EARL
by Ramona Elmes

A sweet workplace romance with added boss-employee and house party, very likable main and side characters, a touch of intrigue and spice.

Since the death of her husband, Mrs Philomena "Phi" Aster has been working as governess to the orphaned niece and nephew of Matthew, Earl of Stanhope. The two maintain a friendly relationship. When Matthew's mother organises a house party so that he can choose a bride, Matthew and Phi are stranded in a hunting cabin during a storm and soon realise that their feelings for each other are deeper than they thought...

MISS HARROW AND THE TENACIOUS DUKE
by Aileen Fish

A sweet and clean romance with a love triangle trope, sympathetic characters and a service of friendship that leads to conflict.

After her cousins are all happily married, Charlotte Harrow has resigned herself to the fact that she will probably end up an old maid and travels to her brother and his pregnant wife in the country. Her brother soon tries to fix her up with a dull tenant farmer, but she is attracted to her admirer’s friend Frederick, Duke of Thornton. However, when she suddenly receives romantic letters from her suitor, she begins to reconsider her opinion of him, but soon finds out that he is not the author of the letters...

HOW THE GIRL GOT THE EARL
by Amanda Mariel

An enjoyable sweet and clean romance with he falls first and fling tropes, lots of chemistry, witty banter, bickering, flirtation and battles of wills, featuring a reformed rake and a strong, carefree heroine.

Lady Alexandra Peregrine is a free spirit and has no intention of falling in love, marrying or bowing to social convention this season. But the well-known and charming rake Magnus Berkshire, Earl of Langley, always seems to seek her company, much to her displeasure.
Magnus is fascinated by the spirited young lady, who repeatedly engages him in battles of wills, flirts and verbal sparring...

Fresh yet timeless, these enchanting tales are sure to captivate and entertain.

A Rascal, a Romantic, and A Rarity by Aubrey Wynne

In this poignant tale, Phoebe Weston is engaged to James, but upon discovering his unwillingness to abandon his rakish ways, she bravely ends their betrothal. Heartbroken yet determined, Phoebe accompanies her father to a house party, setting the stage for a heartfelt journey of self-discovery and resilience.

This story beautifully explores the complexities of reevaluating one's life choices in the pursuit of true love and happiness. It serves as a touching reminder that we hold the power to shape our own destinies. I was deeply moved by this sweet and inspiring story, where fate intervenes and the right path becomes clear through the transformative gift of choice.

Tangled in a Tempest by Dawn Brower

Christopher and Pippa’s story really pulled me in. Right from their first meeting, you can just feel this spark between them—like there's something more going on, even if they don’t realize it yet. For the longest time, Christopher sees Pippa as an annoyance, but that changes when they get stuck together in a storm.

The literal storm they face is nothing compared to the emotional tempest brewing between them. Their dynamic is electric—each driving the other to frustration, yet neither willing to confront their true feelings. However, once they finally acknowledge their emotions, it becomes clear they are a perfect match.

Rogue to The Rescue by Jane Charles

Lady Victoria is a fiercely independent woman who refuses to rely on her former love, Benedict Valentine, for protection. Their shared past is marked by a fleeting connection, abruptly halted by a misunderstanding that kept them apart. However, fate intervenes, forcing them into each other's company once more. As they navigate this unexpected reunion, they find an opportunity to rebuild trust, paving the way for a heartfelt second chance at happiness. This is a timeless tale of love lost and found, a great second chance story that will warm the heart.

The Storm Between Us - Lizzie C. Coz

This story stands out as my absolute favorite in the collection. The author masterfully captures an emotional journey filled with heartfelt, unresolved feelings between Eli and Margot. After a tragic carriage accident, Eli walks away, convinced that his love for Margot can't conquer his deepest fears. However, fate has other plans, reuniting them at a house party where long-buried emotions rise to the surface with raw intensity. The writing beautifully weaves heartache and hope, illustrating that love often must endure turbulent storms before it can truly find its way home. The depth of emotion and the authentic portrayal of their journey left a lasting impression on me.

Their Forbidden Storm by Christina Diane

This story of forbidden love was just beautiful. Lady Lucy will not accept anyone for her husband except Clive Jones a stable hand. This story had some unexpected twist and a delightful ending.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl by Ramona Elmes

Matthew never thought he'd fall for a governess, but feelings for his governess have been slowly emerging and after being stuck together during a storm everything changes. A charming, witty romance that breaks class boundaries with heart and passion.

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke by Aileen Fish

Charlotte finds herself being courted by Cecil—a charming, respectable man whose dedication to his work makes him seem rather dull. Despite recognizing his qualities as an ideal suitor, Charlotte's heart remains untouched. Curiously, Cecil’s sudden gestures of romance, including heartfelt love notes and beautiful flowers, starkly contrast with his reserved personality, leaving Charlotte puzzled.

Meanwhile, Charlotte cannot deny her growing attraction to the enigmatic Duke of Thornton. His intriguing nature and their electric chemistry spark feelings she never experiences with Cecil. What adds depth to the narrative is Thornton’s noble attempt to assist his friend Cecil in winning Charlotte’s affection, even as he grapples with his own desires for her.

I thoroughly enjoyed the intricate web of emotions, misunderstandings, and surprising twists that unfold. The story beautifully illustrates the importance of understanding one’s feelings and the value of patience in matters of the heart.

How the Girl Got the Earl by Amanda Mariel

I absolutely adored this story! Lady Alexandra is a spirited, intriguing heroine who stands out from the typical young ladies of her time. Enter Magnus Berkshire, the roguishly charming Earl of Langley—exactly the type of man Alexandra wants to avoid. But fate has other plans.

Every encounter between these two crackles with tension, as their sharp wit and clashing personalities spark undeniable chemistry. Their mutual disdain for marriage only adds fuel to the fire, turning their love story into an exhilarating battle of wills.

Once Magnus sets his sights on Alexandra, his determined pursuit is nothing short of swoon-worthy—deliciously charming and utterly delightful. This enchanting tale is a clever, captivating journey that proves even the most guarded hearts can be conquered.

This was a cute anthology! I liked that getting caught in the rain was part of each of the stories! (And that it usually led to feeling reveals and occasionally some steamy interactions!)

A Rascal, A Romantic, and A Rarity by Aubrey Wynne 3 Stars! I liked this one! Phoebe was sweet and while it's unfortunate the way things happened, I did like the way she handled James when she found him in the closet. Charles was amazing and gone from the moment he met her and I loved it. I will admit that I felt like Phoebe was a little bit of a brat when she realized her father and Anette had a thing. Granted, it can be hard watching parents find someone again, but still.

Tangled in a Tempest by Dawn Brower 3 Stars!I liked the relationship between Pippa and Christopher. Their sniping was hilarious and I loved that Pippa was like "oh you're a duke? Big whoop" and just let him have it.

Rogue to the Rescue by Jane Charles 3.5 Stars! This one added a little bit of danger to things, but I enjoyed it! I would have liked to see more of the masquerade where Victoria and Benedick first met though! Would have been interesting seeing more of the second chance aspect.

The Storm Between Us by Lizzie C Koz 4 Stars OMG! This was definitely one of my favorites in this anthology! Margot and Eli had history and chemistry. Then Eli had all the bad happen to him and decided to try and be a noble idiot. I did like Margot taking what she wanted, even if it was to hide her pain. Once Eli showed up, I liked that Margot pushed his buttons and then when she put all the pieces together how she didn't back down. While Eli was definitely allowed to be angry and scared and hurting, I did roll my eyes when he was trying for noble idiocy. I liked Margot going for the "here let me prove it to you" when Eli was convincing himself she'd run at the first sign of one of his bad incidents.

Their Forbidden Storm by Christina Diane 4 Stars! So I'll admit I'm kind of an idiot and it took me far longer than it should to realize that this Lizzie was Margot's cousin from The Storm Between Us. Seeing character names and everything took me a second, but I liked the crossover! I liked that Lucy and Clive chose each other, even if it meant things got tight for a minute. Although Clive's whole "I want to make sure this is what she really wants" needed to be expanded just a teeny bit more. The reveal on his family was interesting and I liked the fact that Lady Augusta didn't seem to hold it against Clive. And that everyone welcomed him with basically open arms.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl by Ramona Elmes 3.5 Stars! This one was sweet. It was hilarious when Matthew finally acknowledged his feelings and everyone was just "we thought you knew!" and you find out that everyone's been placing bets on when he and Phi would realize/acknowledge their feelings. Lady Jane and her mother were pieces of work and NGL, I did like the way the end was handled with things being delayed with their leaving. I liked that Phi loved Pippa and Adam and how they took to her and didn't see a problem with her marrying Matthew.

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke by Aileen Fish 4 Stars! Loved the Cyrano angle with this one! It was interesting watching Charlotte spending time with both Cecil and Thornton and trying to figure out her feelings. Thornton's conversation with Cecil after she figured stuff out what mildly hilarious because Thornton was trying to be noble and Cecil's just like "why?"

How the Girl got the Earl by Amanda Mariel 3.75 Stars! The first meeting between Alexandra and Magnus set the stage for everything and Magnus was gone for that first meeting. Once Lady Honoria stuck her nose into things, I liked that both Alexandra and Magnus were like "we're not doing this out of honor". Granted, Alexandra thought she didn't want to marry at all but at least she turned him down and made him work for it. And boy, did Magnus deliver! I liked the way he showed her he was in for the long haul.

Overall, this was a fun anthology! I will admit that a few of the stories needed another editing pass or two (there were issues with missing words/misspelled words, punctuation, a couple times where the wrong character was mentioned, etc), but it wasn't horrible. I also would have loved for a few of these to be longer only because I want to see all the yearning from everyone! I will say that this gave me more authors to add to my TBR, which isn't always a good thing! XD

This is an anthology of eight novellas by different authors with the common link of stormy weather. Some stories are better than others, but it’s a good way to sample a writer and if you like their style to look for more of their work.

First up was A Rascal, a Romantic and a Rarity by Aubrey Wynne where we meet Phoebe Weston & Charles Wilkens. These characters have appeared before in her excellent Once Upon a Widow series which I highly recommend, and I really enjoyed their own story. I really like this author’s writing style too, so finding one of her stories in the anthology was a big bonus. Phoebe is staying in London for the Christmas celebrations with her fiancé, but she breaks off her betrothal after catching him in a compromising position with a maid. Charles first saw Phoebe walking in the park and was immediately attracted to her. A series of serendipitous events brings them together and their story begins…..

Next we meet Christopher Wright, the Duke of Haverleigh & Pippa Hartwell in Dawn Brower’s Tangled in a Tempest. The fourteen year old duke first meets the nine year old Pippa shortly after his father’s death when he goes to stay with her brother James, and she really irritates him. Ten years later he returns to visit after the death of James and Pippa’s own father to find Pippa has become a beautiful young woman. They get caught out in a storm and take shelter together in an old hunting lodge…..

The third story is Rouge to the Rescue by Jane Charles where we meet Lady Victoria Westbrook & Benedick Valentine. I’d not read anything by this author before, so the start of the story was a bit confusing with all the various characters from earlier books by the author. Victoria and Benedick first met at a masked house party, but parted not on good terms. They come together again after an incident which requires Benedick to stay at her house as a protector, and their story develops during a stormy night ……

Next it’s the turn of Margot Ainsworth & Eli Wyndham in The Storm Between Us by Lizzie C Koz. This was another new author to me with a good story line but not such a traditional regency style of writing. Margot is the sister of Eli’s best friend Hugh, so he’s known her for several years and at one point they were very close. After suffering a carriage accident in which his parents were killed, Eli disappears from Margot’s life for five years as he has issues and no longer feels he deserves her. They come together again at a house party and their story continues……

The fifth story is Their Forbidden Storm by Christine Diane where we meet Lady Lucy Lygon & Clive Jones. Lucy is the daughter of a duke and her parents want her to marry a man of their choice. Lucy has other ideas, she’s fallen in love with Clive who works in her father’s stables. This fast paced, spicy story of forbidden romance is their tale……

The sixth story, Caught in the Storm with an Earl, is by Ramona Elmes. Here we meet Philomena Aster & Matthew, the Earl of Stanhope in a ‘happily ever after’ Victorian romance. Phi is governess to Matthew’s orphaned nephew and niece. Matthew’s mother is throwing a house party to find him a wife. They take shelter together during a storm and realise they have feelings for each other …….

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke by Aileen Fish is the seventh story where we meet Charlotte Harrow & Frederick, the Duke of Thornton. Charlotte is staying in the village with her brother and his wife and they introduce her to Cecil, a nice gentleman farmer but very boring. Cecil asks his friend the duke for help courting Charlotte, and the duke agrees to write some romantic notes for Cecil to pass off as his own. Charlotte discovers the true author of the notes and things heat up …….

The eighth and final story is How the Girl got the Earl by Amanda Mariel where we meet Lady Alexandra Peregrine & Magnus Berkshire, the Earl of Langley. This is a witty and romantic tale with lots of banter. Alexandra isn’t interested in marriage but she’s drawn into a flirtatious exchange with the charming Magnus. Their playful banter continues until they get caught sharing a scandalous kiss in the rain under an oak tree …….

A Rascal, A Romantic and A Rarity. By A. Wynne

A delicious story of Phoebe, who thought she had found “the One”, only to find she was not his ‘One’ and Charles, who was in love with Phoebe at first sight. I loved how fate brought them together and Phoebe refusing to be James’ trophy wife. Her dad was wonderful and his ending was adorable. Enjoyable read!

Tangled in a Tempest by D Brower

There is a fine line between love and hate as this story shows. Christopher has lost his father and with it, the inability to go home. Pippa is a feisty girl turned woman who burrows under his skin uncomfortably. Their shared grief was very poignant as I remember being in their shoes and the author does a lovely job of showing their grief perfectly. A sweet story of love, loss and life lived to the fullest.

Rogue to the Rescue by J. Charles

I so love the Westbrook/ Valentine family. Benedict and Victoria love each other, but when pride gets in the way, they lose it all. It always fascinates me how class struggles destroy so many lives. I loved how both of them were prideful and how each learned from it. A really good short story and REALLY adored the epilogue!

The Storm between Us. By L. Koz

If I were reviewing this story alone, it would have gotten a 3 out of 5 star rating. Nothing ruins a story more than having Regency English ladies speaking like American slums people. It sets the wrong tone for historical romance. The f-bomb is used very liberally in this novella and it destroyed a very beautiful story of second chances and learning to stop being afraid of life. I loved Margot and Eli’s chemistry and the descriptive text puts the reader right in the story, but the crass language ruined it.

Their Forbidden Storm by C. Diane

Lucy is done bowing to her parents demands. Clive just wants to breed horses. Class distinction keeps them apart-or does it. I loved how Lucy was strong enough to deny her parents demands and stand up to them. Would have loved to have seen Lord Rutherford’s face when he realized he lost. I adored Aunt Augusta and the happy ending! There were 2 f-bombs that I still feel unnecessary.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl by R. Elmes

What a delicious story of Phi, a widowed governess and Matthew, the children’s uncle. I adored how they got caught in the storm, both literally and figuratively. This is a witty tale full of love, laughter , jealousy and happily ever after. Absolutely ADORED no crass language and will be reading more from this author.

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke by A. Fish

I have not read much by this author, but I am impressed by her writing style . It is so well written, I felt like I was watching a movie, the words were so concise. They paint a picture I could live in. I loved Charlotte’s desire to help others and her inability to take care of herself and want to make others happy-as I struggle with that. Rebecca’s advise was spot on. I wanted to shake some sense into Neal for thinking he had the right of it concerning who Charlotte should marry and Cecil- well he is a different breed altogether. I really enjoyed this story and am glad it was part of this anthology. One of my favorites.

How the Girl got the Earl by A. Mariel

Ending this anthology with this story was perfect! I loved the banter, flushing out all the feelings and the characters! Alexandra and Magnus were meant for each other and how the author weaved the tale was sublime! The secondary characters were delightfully funny and brought a lot to the table . Truly enjoyed this one the most!

I received this anthology for free and these are my own opinions.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!! It was so much fun, very entertaining and full of romance!! One of the things I love about anthologies is reading different stories by different authors with the same theme. I thought each author did a fantastic job with their own story. Each of the couples had their own unique story and how they reached their happily ever after. I highly recommend this book!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the stories in this anthology. The connecting theme had me humming “Walking in the Rain with the One I Love!”

A Rascal, A Romantic, and a Rarity by Aubrey Wynne
Phoebe thought she had found the ideal match until she caught him a compromising position with a maid at a party. Walking in the park, she meets Charles. It seems to be love at first sight. The hitch? They are from different stations. Will they defy social expectations to find true love? A charming story with a happy ending not only for Phoebe and Charles, but for her father as well.

Tangled in a Tempest by Dawn Brower
She’s his best friend’s sister and has always been a pest. That is until Christopher and Pippa are stranded together to wait out a storm. As they see each other in new light, the storm on the outside is nothing to the emotional storm between them. A lighthearted enemies-to-lovers story.

Rogue to the Rescue by Jane Charles
Victoria fell in love with Benedict at a masquerade she should not have attended. The feeling was mutual. When danger stalks Victoria, her brother brings Benedict in to protect her. Benedict doesn’t believe he is good enough for Victoria. Can she convince him that he is wrong, that status doesn’t outweigh love? A second chance story with a bit of excitement.

The Storm Between Us by Lizzie C Koz
In the carriage accident that caused the deaths of his parents, Eli was left scarred physically and emotionally. Eli walked away from his life, including Margot. Several years later Eli shows up at a house party to fill in as Margot’s guardian. The house party gave the two of them a chance to talk through the emotional pain each had suffered. A heart touching second chance story.

Their Forbidden Storm by Christina Diane
As with most young ladies of her station Lucy, a duke’s daughter, is pressured to marry well, for title, wealth, and connections. Lucy wants a marriage built on love, and she finds it with Clive, a groom on her father’s estate. Lucy is threatened with being disowned and Clive with the loss of his job. Then they find an ally in Lady Augusta, who seems not only to be in favor of the match, but has a secret to share. Things may turn out just as they should.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl by Ramona Elmes
Phi came to Matthew’s home widowed and seeking employment as a governess. When his brother and sister-in-law died, he became guardian to his niece and nephew. The children and the servants loved Phi. They also realized something that Matthew and Phi failed to. They were perfect for each other. Trapped in a cottage in a storm gives them the opportunity to discover this for themselves. This is a delightful story with fun, warmth, healing, and family.

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke by Aileen Fish
Charlotte’s brother introduces her to Cecil, a friend he thinks will make her a fine match.
She finds him a nice person, but somewhat dull. He speaks constantly of agriculture and not much else. Then he begins to send flowers and romantic notes. Charlotte is confused until she hears him ask another friend, the Duke of Thornton to write another note. Is it possible that the duke was expressing his own feelings for her?

How the Girl Got the Earl by Amanda Mariel
Lady Alexandra Peregrine is a rebel. She yearns for adventure, not marriage. Magnus Berkshire, Earl of Langley is a consummate rogue and has no interest in the marriage mart. When Alexandra runs into, literally, Magnus at a party, things get interesting. The chemistry between them is palpable. Will these two see that they are perfect for each other and changes their view of marriage. Fun, full of wit, and entertaining.

Entertaining Collection of Historical Romances with a Stormy Twist
It’s Raining Rogues is a charming anthology of Regency novellas, all tied together by stormy settings that throw couples together in the most unexpected—and romantic—ways. From second chances to forbidden love, each tale brings a unique flavor to this cozy, rain-soaked collection.
“A Rascal, a Romantic, and a Rarity” by Aubrey Wynne
Phoebe ends her betrothal to a womanizer, only to cross paths with Charles, who falls for her instantly. With a lovely subplot involving Phoebe’s father finding love too, this story offers two romances in one. A sweet start to the collection.
“Tangled in a Tempest” by Dawn Brower
Pippa and the Duke of Haverleigh trade sharp barbs, but there's more beneath the surface. A storm traps them together, forcing them to confront feelings long buried. A playful enemies-to-lovers story with a satisfying emotional shift.
“Rogue to the Rescue” by Jane Charles
This touching second-chance romance centers on a painful misunderstanding. When Victoria and Benedict first met, they were masked—then unmasked, and everything fell apart. She believed he recoiled at her appearance, while he thought she turned away because he wasn’t titled. Now reunited under tense circumstances, they must work together as danger looms. I adored this story for its emotional depth and exploration of how insecurities can keep people apart. Their journey reminded me how fragile first impressions can be—and how rewarding it is when love gets a second chance to flourish.
“The Storm Between Us” by Lizzie C. Koz
A powerful second-chance romance about love lost and found. Margot was heartbroken when Eli, her brother’s best friend and the man she loved, disappeared without explanation. Five years later, he’s back—haunted by the past, yet drawn to her still. As the truth behind his absence comes to light, the story builds toward a deeply emotional reconciliation. I shed a few tears during this one; the pain, regret, and eventual healing made for a profoundly moving read.
“Their Forbidden Storm” by Christina Diane
The daughter of a duke and a stable groom fall in love despite overwhelming odds. With a juicy twist and real stakes, this was one of the steamier stories in the set. I found myself rooting hard for Lucy and Clive.
“Caught in the Storm with an Earl” by Ramona Elmes
An earl and his long-serving governess discover love while trapped during a stormy house party. With other eligible women around, will he choose station or love? The build-up was satisfying, and I appreciated the tension between duty and emotion.
“Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke” by Aileen Fish
The Duke of Thornton wants Charlotte—but curiously helps a friend pursue her instead. A bit of deception threatens their growing connection. I liked how Charlotte turned out to be the more tenacious of the two.
“How the Earl Got the Girl” by Amanda Mariel
A fun, fast-paced romance begins with a literal tumble into tulips. Magnus and Alexandra sizzle from the start, and a scandal soon forces decisions of the heart. One modern phrase did momentarily pull me out of the story, but otherwise this was a thoroughly delightful read.
Overall, It’s Raining Rogues is a heartwarming collection perfect for fans of short historical romances, especially those who enjoy cozy settings, forced proximity, and emotional depth. While most of the language fits the Regency tone, I did stumble over one very modern term (“meet-cute”) that felt jarringly out of place. That said, the story was strong enough to pull me back in quickly, and I admire the creativity and variety across the collection.

A marvellous collection of novellas!
If you’re not certain if historical romance might be your thing, this anthology is perfect for you! There’s a nice variety of stories, styles and tropes, some sweet, some spicy, and most of them absolutely delightful.

For me it was a nice mix of 4 authors I already know and love, and 4 new-to-me authors.
Overall I really enjoyed this entire collection – I read them as bedtimes stories. They’re all pretty low angst, fun and very entertaining.
A collection I happily recommend to one and all!

A Rascal, A Romantic, and A Rarity by Aubrey Wynne
Viscount’s daughter x solicitor, cinnamon roll hero, love at first sight for him, love at first kiss for her, Christmas house party, kisses only
⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
This novella almost read like a full novel, and I loved it! A witty and charming yuletide romance about an (un)fortunate series of events that leads to happily ever after.

Tangled in a Tempest by Dawn Brower
Earl’s daughter x duke, brother’s best friend, frenemies-to-lovers, shared grief, cabin in the woods, kisses only
⭐⭐✨
Very predictable and rather bland, this one felt a little uninspired for my taste and was a tad repetitive at times. I’m sorry to say it could barely hold my attention.

Rogue to the Rescue by Jane Charles
Earl’s daughter x police officer, spinster x bodyguard, forced proximity, class difference, second chance, kisses only
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A beautiful intimate romance full of tension with a thrilling hint of danger. They believe Society stands between them, when in truth, it’s their own pride holding them back.

The Storm Between Us by Lizzie C Koz
Viscount’s daughter x earl, brother’s best friend, second chance, hellcat heroine, scarred haunted hero, house party, it’s always been you, steamy
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
They both dealt with loss and pain in their own destructive way, and now it’s time for an unapologetically delectable and direct clearing of the mess between them. Gorgeous, touching & raw. Perfect!

Their Forbidden Storm by Christina Diane
Duke’s daughter x groom, 2 years of secret pining, forbidden romance, class difference, cabin in the woods, found family, steamy
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✨
I loved seeing this lady take control of her own destiny – and het puppy dog hero!
This story is set at the same house party as the previous one, and I want to give a shoutout to the aunties – they rock!

Caught in the Storm with an Earl by Ramona Elmes
Governess widow x earl, self-reformed rake, house party, friends to lovers, class difference, cabin in the woods, everyone knew before they did, steamy
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Humorous, swoonworthy romance!
These two are so in-tune and complete numpties about their feelings for each other. We get a lovely view at their slow burn – it’s been 4 years in the making! – through memories, but once the fire is lit, it’s lit!

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke by Aileen Fish
Spinster Lady x duke, kisses only, country setting, distant acquaintances to lovers
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A sweet and charming story about a brokenhearted man who falls for his friend’s girl, not knowing she already has a tender for him.
Her main conundrum is ‘to settle, or not to settle’. Her suitor is nice, but the duke sets her heart on fire.

How the Girl got the Earl by Amanda Mariel
Hellion spitfire & rake extraordinaire, earl’s daughter x earl, compromised, play-with-fire-get-burned, kisses only, fake enemies to lovers
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A playful and naughty little novella full of funny banter and teasing. Loved the tension and the fast pace!
They both play to win. He’s all in.
She needs a bit more convincing…

A delightful romance that challenges class barriers, filled with warmth, wit, and the kind of passion that defies propriety.

𝙈𝒊𝙨𝒔 𝑯𝙖𝒓𝙧𝒐𝙬 𝙖𝒏𝙙 𝙩𝒉𝙚 𝙏𝒆𝙣𝒂𝙘𝒊𝙤𝒖𝙨 𝘿𝒖𝙠𝒆 𝒃𝙮 𝘼𝒊𝙡𝒆𝙚𝒏 𝑭𝙞𝒔𝙝 - Charlotte thinks she knows her suitor—practical, predictable, and a touch uninspiring. But love notes tell another story, revealing a hidden depth that makes her reconsider everything. While the connection between them may not leap off the page, this tale explores the quiet, often overlooked moments that build true affection.

𝑯𝙤𝒘 𝒕𝙝𝒆 𝑮𝙞𝒓𝙡 𝙂𝒐𝙩 𝙩𝒉𝙚 𝙀𝒂𝙧𝒍 𝒃𝙮 𝘼𝒎𝙖𝒏𝙙𝒂 𝑴𝙖𝒓𝙞𝒆𝙡 - Lady Alexandra and Magnus clash in ways that are as frustrating as they are electric. Their disdain for marriage only fuels their undeniable chemistry, making this love story an exciting battle of wills. A playful, witty, and engaging romance that proves even the most stubborn hearts can be won.

Eight Novellas Linked by Stormy Weather

A Rascal, A Romantic and A Rarity by Aubrey Wynne - Betrothed to an Earl in her first season, Phoebe is upset to learn that her fiancé has no intention of being faithful. Breaking the engagement she promptly falls for a solicitor.

Tangled in a Tempest by Dawn Brower - Christopher has always found his best friend’s little sister infuriating. So why is he now falling for her? And what happens when they are stranded together in a thunderstorm?

Rogue to the Rescue by Jane Charles - A second chance at love happens when Benedict Valentine is hired to protect Lady Victoria. Will his pride still come between them?

The Storm Between Us by Lizzie C Koz - After a carriage accident Eli ghosts the woman he loves. When they are unexpectedly reunited at a houseparty, their feelings are as strong as ever but both are stubborn. Margot must let go of her hurt and Eli must face his fears.

Their Forbidden Storm by Christina Diane - Duke’s daughter Lady Lucy falls in love with her father’s stablehand. As this is a novel they find a way to be together and happy.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl by Ramona Elmes - After his mother decides it is more than time he was married and arranges a houseparty, Matthew taking shelter from a storm with his niece and nephew’s governess finds that no-ne but Phi will do for him, even if it causes a scandal.

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke by Aileen Fish - Charlotte has feelings for a Duke but it is his boring friend who is courting her. Then she starts to receive love notes from him, perhaps he is not so boring but why can he never be so eloquent in person? My least favourite in this anthology as I didn’t feel the connection between the H and h.

How the Girl got the Earl by Amanda Mariel - Lady Alexandra whilst attempting to get away from a boring suitor, knocks a rogue Earl into a bed of tulips. She finds Magnus annoying and fascinating in equal measure, is there a chance that two anti-marriage people will fall in love?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from one of the authors. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In A Rascal, A Romantic, and A Rarity Phoebe discovers that her fiance is only interested in her dowry and will continue to cheat after they are married. She is upset and seeing her father with Annette makes her throw a temper tantrum. I didn't like Phoebe in Annette's book but I understand her actions more now. She falls for solicitor Charles but he encourages time to court to make sure they are right for each other.

In Tangled in a Tempest is an enemies to lovers romance between Christopher and his best friend's younger sister Pippa. For years they verbally sparred with each other but now they are forced to shelter together during a storm and discover their hidden attraction.

Rogue to the Rescue is a cross classes second chance romance between Lady Victoria and police officer Benedict. He is hired to protect her when a woman she assists abuser comes after her.

The Storm Between Us is also a second chance romance between Margot and Eli. He pushes her away after he is injured and scarred and loses his parents in a carriage accident. Her brother asks him to look out for her, they reconnect, and she sees the trauma he still experiences within.

Their Forbidden Storm is a cross classes forbidden romance between Lady Lucy and her parents stable employee Clive. They want her to marry a Lord but she is determined to follow her heart regardless of the costs.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl is another forbidden romance between an Earl and his nephew and niece's governess Phil. His mother holds a house party to meet eligible ladies and the only one he wants is Phi but can they get past the scorn of others?

In Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke she is surprised when her full suitor writes her poetic letters until she discovers the duke is the real author.

How the Girl Got the Earl starts out as a flirtation between Alexandra and Magnus until they are caught kissing in the rain and he has to convince her his feelings and marriage offer are real.

A Rascal, A Romantic, and a Rarity by Aubrey Wynne...
A sweet romance with a broken engagement that gives Phoebe her second chance with Charles. This is all about falling in love and making the perfect match.

Tangled in a Tempest by Dawn Brower...
When childhood frenemies become so much more and a storm that changes everything. Christopher and Pippa find understanding and love, they leave behind sorrow to build a new beginning and new memories.

Rogue to the Rescue by Jane Charles...
A little danger and protection that rekindles love for Victoria and Benedick. Two stubborn people that reach their happily ever after.

The Storm Between Us by Lizzie C Koz...
A very passionate romance, childhood friends that get their second chance at love. I love a scarred hero and a feisty heroine. Eli and Margot are perfection.

Their Forbidden Storm by Christina Diane...
Beautiful and forbidden, a true love story. I loved the passion, undeniable desire and tenderness between Clive and Lucy.

Caught in the Storm with an Earl by Ramona Elmes...
An engaging romance, Matthew and Phi are quite the pair falling in love slowly and unexpectedly. A governess that catches an Earl and live happily ever after.

Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke by Aileen Fish...
Such a sweet romance, beautifully written and paced perfectly. Love notes written in secret, hidden desires and opening your heart, trust and love with the right person. Charlotte and Thornton find all this and so much more.

How the Girl Got the Earl by Amanda Mariel...
Gorgeous romance, utterly delightful in every way. Some if not the best witty banter I've seen written. I adored Alexander and Magnus. A kiss under an oak tree in the rain that changes everything. A chase for love, unexpected and challenging, fun, hopeful, filled with vulnerability. A beautiful journey to happily ever after.

I received an ARC from Booksprout and I'm willingly leaving my review. Average 3.9.
General: I loved how they put the description right before the story (vs. the beginning of the book). I think they should have talked about the names beforehand (one guy is named cedric/cecil).
A Rascal, A Romantic, and A Rarity (4*) Part of it is a different POV from another book. The story was getting better at the end when she met her match.
Tangled in a Tempest (4*) Short and sweet, lovely story.
Rogue to the Rescue (4.5*) Entertaining banter.
The Storm Between Us (3.5*) Good story but predictable with too much swearing and open bedroom scenes.
Their Forbidden Storm (3.5*) Good ending. I simply hated the maid and there was no repercussion.
Caught in the Storm with an Earl (4*) It's hilarious but my pet peeve is when they run away.
Miss Harrow and the Tenacious Duke (3*) I wasn't too sure about this one. I didn't like certain conversations and she had some apologizing to do but never did and that didn't hold well with me. I also felt like he was making all the efforts.
How the Girl got the Earl (5*) I loved the banter from everyone around. It was funny, relaxing, and an absolute delight. Ultra-romantic story.

Overall, the anthology is really good and fun to read.

"A Rascal, A Romantic & A Rarity" ties in with two other stories. Charles & Phones are the perfect pair.

"Tangled in a Tempest" was about a brother's best friend. It was good, but was my least favorite of the book.

"Rogue to the Rescue" was very enjoyable. I liked it a lot.

"Storm Between Us" is a passionate tale of love denied as Eli suffers a carriage accident and Margot longs for him.

"The Forbidden Storm" is a well told story of falling in love even though they are of different social classes.

"Caught in a Storm with an Earl" is a sweet love story of an Earl for his governess.

"Miss Harrow & the Tenacious Duke" is a wild story of trying to help a friend get the woman while falling n love with her himself.

"How the Earl Got the Girl" is a funny story to end the book where the two challenge and irritate each other which leads to more.

A delightful collection of stories involving rain and passion that storms into being.

This charming anthology delivers exactly what it promises: eight brand-new Regency novellas filled with stormy nights, stolen glances, and love kindled in the coziest of hideaways. From windswept manor houses to thunderous countryside escapes, each story offers a delightful escape into a world where nature’s fury only fuels the fire of unexpected passion.

The collection shines in its variety—each author brings a unique voice, yet all the stories share that warm, comforting thread of love found in isolation. If you enjoy whispered confessions by the hearth, enemies trapped together by circumstance, or the slow bloom of affection on a rainy night, this anthology is your cup of tea.

As with any collection, there were a few stories that stood out more than others, but the overall tone was cohesive and satisfying. It’s perfect for a cozy weekend read when it's dark and gray outside —stories that feel like a warm blanket and a cup of tea.

Rogues and their Ladies

“It’s Raining Rogues” is an enjoyable collection of historical romance stories written by a group of extremely talented authors. A collection like this gives the reader the opportunity to enjoy familiar authors and perhaps discover an author new to them that they can add to their list of favorite authors. These stories contain witty banter, swoon worthy scenes, romantic gestures, passionate kisses, different levels of steam, falling in love, and rainstorms, lots and lots of rainstorms that sweep through and connect these historical romance stories. The cost of this collection is well worth the price of admission. Most definitely recommended, every story in this book is a winner.

Eight Moments of Pleasure!
This anthology has 8 delightful stories in it, the majority being (in my opinion) of excellent or very good, readable quality which is unusual when combining them in an anthology of this size.
They were all very easy to read with believable characters and a good variety of tropes such as friends to lovers, brother's friend to lover, marrying only for love, headstrong heroine, averting a scandal, caught in a scandalous situation, being forced into marriage, just to name a few.
Though each story is on the shortish side, they all said what they had to and I wasn't left wanting so I am happy to recommend this anthology as one which can be easily read and enjoyed.
I read an early copy of all eight stories in this anthology and my voluntary review is above.

The Storm Between Us – Lizzie C. Koz
WOW! This story blew my mind for being a novella. I went through a variety of emotions – sadness with tears, laughing out loud and love. Margot and Eli were such a lovely couple even through their struggles.

Their Forbidden Storm – Christina Diane
Going into this story, I realized that it has one of the characters from Lizzie’s story and I wondered what was going to happen to Lucy. Holy cannoli, I teared up in this story also. I dare you not to fall in love with Clive (lovely name) and Lucy’s romance. The heart knows what it wants and I am so there for that. A truly romantic story.

This anthology included 8 short novellas by different authors. Some were new to me while others were familiar, and some my favorites. Most of the stories were romantic and the couples were lovable. They included good characters were well developed. There were a few that weren’t my favorite because the romance and love wasn’t believable. I’m not a big fan of making the love story and connection unnecessarily difficult. As a whole I enjoyed the anthology even though some stories weren’t my taste or had annoying characters.

“It’s Raining Rogues” by Aubrey Wynn, Dawn Brower Jane Charles, Lizzie C. Koz, Christina Diane, Ramone Elmes, Aileen Fish and Amanda Mariel. I received a free copy of this anthology in ebook form for free and am voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.

Eight Regency romances deliver a variety of beloved tropes in bite-sized tales. The anthology balances charm, wit, and swoon-worthy moments with ease. Some stories shine brighter than others, but all offer satisfying endings.

A delightful collection perfect for romance lovers craving quick, heartfelt reads.
