Dear Mrs. Mutz,

Wow….you’re journey in learning to surrender was truly breathtaking. I laughed. I cried. I ached with you and reflected on my own journey of surrendering the dearest things to me. Your hearts cry resounds that God’s way is truly better than ours although we may not see it at the time.
Some things you said resonates with me deeply while others I did not necessarily relate too. But I love your raw transparency. It will help other woman for years to come.
Thank you.

WOW! What a wonderfully encouraging and edifying heartfelt book!

WOW! What a wonderfully encouraging and edifying heartfelt book! From each extremely personal, open, honest, and transparent chapter, to the focus on individual children, and reflection questions at the end, this book has my highest recommendation. I was especially moved by the closing paragraph, “If there is one thing I have learned over these decades, it is that when my heart is yielded to God, He takes care of what’s next. So whether you are just beginning your career, waiting for that special someone, pouring into a busy family, or reflecting on your journey, my prayer for you is this: Relax your grip on the things that are passing away. Cultivate an intimate relationship with Jesus and engage in conversation with Him as you watch the last rays of sun disappear beneath the horizon. Take a deep breath, surrender to the darkness and wait underneath the beauty of the rising moon. You are unique. You have a calling that no one else can fulfill. Bravely walk into this next season, for “the faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT). Anticipate the sunrise, my friend!”

Once I picked this book up I couldn't put it down! It's such an interesting story; a woman's journey to raising twelve kids expresses the ups and downs of surrendering to the process. Though there were heart wrenching moments— the family's resilience and honesty makes it a worth it read. I'm so glad I got to learn about this family especially since the father is my current city mayor! I am thoroughly impressed by the wisdom acquired from Pam; even through mistakes and hard moments, she chose to rid herself of how she is perceived and press on toward becoming who God called her to be. As unique of a story, I appreciate the relatable moments this book offered.

Well written and beautifully published.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this one but I loved it! I think big families are so fun and I really enjoyed reading about Pamela’s family, her kids, and especially her relationship with God. I’m amazed at how open she and her family members were with their stories, but it all made sense when one son wrote about how the children were all taught to share their struggles so that others could learn from their mistakes. It was really well done and all tied together beautifully - both a fun read and one that I know I will come back to.

Every good story has tension and conflict. This true story includes love, romance, adventure, and tragedy. There are Christian themes of forgiveness and grace. How can joy and sadness co-exist? Read Pam‘s story.
