The quilts in this book are very different from the traditional bargello patterns, so some might not like them. I didn't either at first. They do take some time to get over the traditional thoughts.
So I tried a pattern. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I selected my fabrics, made a swatch sheet (do not forget this step, and make large/long strips), copied the pattern and went to the sewing machine.
I love my quilt! You can see a photo here: my quilt
Love these patterns and the image by step instructions with easy to follow tips and tricks make it a wonderful project for a new quilter such as myself.
I don't really like these quilts. They're uneven in pattern without a point to that, meaning that it doesn't make it artistic in my mind, just random. I also don't like most of the colorways.
That said, this book is actually a good one with clear instructions including a grid to show how the quilt strips should be laid out in the end to have the squares in the right place.
Two stars for the quilts, four stars for the instructions, net three stars.
