Another great book in the brave hero series and first In Superhero fiction. A little girl describes the super powers of her mom and how they never cease to amaze her. She includes things like X-Ray vision, octo-arms, mind reading, the death stare, the dishonesty detector and multi-tasking. Using a sense of humor, she also reveals how mom is not perfect when she talks about her mom's singing and dancing. Mom provides the inspiration that practice makes perfect.
I think that this book will be just as popular with mom as with kids. Perfect for preschoolers to tweens. The whole family will be laughing together. Brought back lots of memories to times when I used my super powers. Highly recommended.
I liked about this writing is that it shows that u might not see how much your mom does for u. I think they should make one about dad's I don't know if they have a book they might have one though.
Personal Response: I read this book to my little cousin Carter, who is five years old. He really enjoyed the book because he like all of the superpowers that were mentioned and he got some ideas of superpowers for his mom too. His favorite superpower from the book was the power of super speed. However, his least favorite superpower was the dishonesty detector. He compares to this story because Carter's mom has many of these superpower traits that were mentioned in the book such as that she loves him very much, she lifts him up and encourages him, and helps heal him when he is sick or hurt. If his mom had superpowers they would be Lightning Powers because the lightning would save him if he was in trouble. Another power would be rain powers because everything would grow and the last power would be happy powers because then she would always be happy and never yell at him ever again.
Plot Summary: The children's book I Think My Mom's a Superhero, is about all of the responsibilities of mother's and all that they do for their children. It explains all of the motherly responsibilities through a fun book for kids. Kids will understand all that their mothers do for them but yet get to have fun reading because the author put everything into a perspective where they will understand through superheroes and all of their powers. There is a different superhero for every need of her child such as super speed to help volunteer at her child's school even though she is very busy. She also uses super speed to get to her child's events even though she is caught up doing other activities around the house or work. This is just one of the many superpowers that the mother in this story has.
Recommendation: I would recommend this book to low level elementary students such as kindergarteners and first graders. The age level of this book would most likely be from the ages of 5-8 years old.
This is a great book my mom is a super mom she cleans and cooks she even lets me help make some delicious food and when we well me and my beautiful mom severs the dish of food my brothers and dad say,'' hmmmm this is very, very, very yummy" me and my mom smile and hug then we all eats some more
It's alright because it's not even that long and you have to pay for another book these grimy p.s. today's my birthday my birthday is August 19 on Wednesday hey hey
In the actual book there was no book! The pages were blank! The only thing I saw was the cover and the gift thingamajig. The last time I read the book it was not like this. So now I give you people 0 STARS!!!!!!!!!!😒😒😒😒😒😒
Let's face it - I picked this book because of pure vanity! I mean, which mother wouldn't want to be a superhero? This book works well as a family reading, or in school on Mother's Day. (Possibly also Father's Day with the other book.) Or any day you need some positivity and laughter. It is the first book for me to read in this series, and I am quite positive it is not the last.
The story and illustrations are blended into a fun and funny comic book, with lots of humour. As soon as I realized I had to tap twice on each page to enlarge it in my tablet reader, I started to enjoy it. Once you recognize yourself in certain situations, and trust me - you will, you will get the true gift of a good book - the chance to laugh and giggle at yourself, by yourself or with your entire family. It is wonderfully inviting to be read by a parent with kids, and can be used as a teaching tool when talking about family life. The gender roles are assigned in a traditional way, and the story is followed with simple follow-up questions. There is even a lovely additional surprise for parents at the end. Some pages will make you giggle, some will make you say 'oh yes, I do', and some will make you smile, say 'awwww' and make you hug your kids or partner even more gently.
See yourself and your everyday family life with some humour, and even the difficult moments will be easier to go through. This is a book you can give to your child, teenagers can give to their mothers, husbands can give to their wives, even you can give to your mother, although she is a grandma already. Enjoy your family - it is a treasure to cherish!
I liked this book very much. The illustrations are fabulous. The pictures clearly show what the text is saying and portrays how a mother is feeling. The pictures brought a smile to my face. It gives the reader a sense of what a mother does for her children and how much she does no matter how busy she is. I liked " the voice" in the little girl's head because it shows that a mom is always with you. I'm not sure I would read this to my class, but would recommend that the students read it for themselves. A good book on understanding moms!
This is a great comic book for children. It focuses on the important roles mothers have in their child's lives. While showing children that even though they aren't perfect or make mistakes their mother loves them no matter what. Showing kids that even when we mess up we apologize and fix the problem. Then all is well again. As that your mom is there for you no matter what.
This short book is a short simple love letter to all the amazing mothers that make the world go round! Absolutely loved this book! It reminded me of all the things my mom does for me! It also reminded me just how lucky I am to have her. The pictures were absolutely wonderful and made the story even better!
This is a cute story. It is funny and the pictures are nice. Some of the pages are difficult to read because of how they are written. Some of the super powers are odd but mostly they are cute. Nice bedtime story for kids. *I got this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This has not influenced my opinions on the book.
It's cute and all, I also like that mom is shown as an awesome figure.... but do we have to bring dad down at the same time? Why couldn't he be a supportive character?
My son and I read this book in the morning at the bus stop. It was enjoyable and fun for both of us, leading to cool discussions with my five year old.
My kiddos enjoy the many different settings and colors in this one. After a couple of read throughs we start talking about the colors and objects on each page.
