Loved this story albeit edge of seat scary. Not giving anything away but Edwin had a collie dog, as a dog lover, what happened to the dog. A small detail that has left me worried. Sorry too that his marriage is on the brink again. Maybe the station story wil bring them back together. Highly recommended.
For those readers who enjoy thrillers of this genre don't need to look further than novels from this author. I was totally immersed in this book and have not found a better example of how a crime thriller should be put together. Brilliant twists and turns. Believable characterisation. It puts the reader there amongst the action and they won't be disappointed. Brilliant.
I always enjoy my time spent with the Lancashire police solving crimes. Once the twists and turns started in this installment they did not stop!!
I will warn that this book is darker than the previous 5 and I found myself skimming/speed reading to avoid some parts. With that said, I still look forward to the next book, but hoping it's a little lighter.
The body of a 81 year old man is found in Mertin Mere. Is there a link between this and a body found several weeks earlier in a Nature Reserve. DCI Walker and his team investigate. Then it's takes an unsuspected turn. And entertaining and well-written modern mystery
On the whole I enjoyed the book. I did feel that the search piece went on a little too long. The characters are still worth rooting for and invested in. Living in Lancashire makes the books feel a little more real. I look forward to the next book.
