Mission 2 from the hilarious Platoon F comedy series!
A group of antiquated robots have decided that they've had enough of being treated like second-class citizens. Working together, they take over the sewage plant on Segnal Prime and start pumping the sludge back up into the buildings.
Seeing that this is bordering on a terrorist-level attack, Platoon F is sent in to regain control of the situation.
Captain Don Harr and his team of misfit androids (the special operations unit in the Segnal Space Marine Corps known as Platoon F), along with a snot-nosed political liaison who has no military training whatsoever, must traverse the underground tunnel systems, take on dog-sized sewer rats, and wrestle control of the plant back while trying to maintain a semblance of sanity as they slosh through loads of crap.
Sometimes, it's abundantly clear what the "F" in Platoon F truly means.
John P. Logsdon is a former game designer, producer, and software engineer who shamelessly digs into the deep recesses of his mind to bring forth oddball characters and hilarious plots. He writes primarily in fantasy, urban fantasy, and science fiction, but he's also dabbled in cozy mystery from time to time. To see John's vast library of laughs, visit www.johnplogsdon.com.
Awesome. What a great parody of a rebellion. Our crew has been ordered to attend a medal ceremony and now find themselves standing in poop with the lights off. A demand from a group of robots state that they will not reverse this until they get some "human" rights, as in days off, apps and more. Although it is agreed that this would be discussed further both sides know that action will be taken. The military want the robots annihilated whilst the robots want a life. A theft of an old class starship from the museum, a silent escape and a killer robot sneaking on board. Whilst our Captain and crew are ordered to take down the robots even if it is in space. A gamble leaves the robots ship in danger of exploding and the killer robot in charge whilst non followers are allowed to board life boats to go to the pursuing ship. An explosion and now the dilemma. Will they take the robots back or give them a new start?
The entire story takes place in about 3 feet of shit.
The crew of the SSMC Reluctant returns triumphantly but revolution is brewing in the sewers as the older model robots that manage the planet's sewage believe they are meant for better things and flood the planet with all the collected fecal matter.
In addition to the dick/gay jokes of the first volume, we now add scatological humor. The more promising elements (emotionless robots leading a revolution) ends up confused as the robots speak just like humans with colloquialisms and turns of phrase that don't work.
Logsdon isn't a terrible writer, there's promise here, let's see where it goes....(probably back into the toilet).

I got started on this series because Orlando Sanchez mentioned it in one of his Montague and Strong books. It is interesting. This is the second in the series, and I have the next three. It's science fiction with a graphic content. There are androids and robots and military personnel. It is entertaining.
I already enjoyed this wonderfully funny story before they rewrote it and made it even better. I love these fantastic misfits and would highly recommend them to everyone. I truly laughed the whole way through.
Rebel ships, warmongers and bureaucracy? What does a Rusty Bucket have in common with a Highlander? It is all here. Intrigue, comedy of errors and hilarious sci fi parody with crude humor that caught me laughing at the most inappropriate times.
Definite Stainless Steel Rat vibes in terms of the type of missions, the type of language used and the type of comedy. Funny indeed. Yeah, I'll read all of them.
Have read many reviews of different books that give outline of the story, but this is Logsdon and t it's not really something one could do when it's {Terry} Pratchett meets {Douglas} Adams meets Monty Python meets Red Dwarf meets Star Trek meets Doctor Who meets Twilight Zone/Outer Limits/Night Gallery.... Realized at end of the Pentalogy that there are 2 of 'them', writers, so guess 2 peas in an...alien pod.... Their 'issues' have 'issues', and sincerely suggest that they both seem professional help...after a couple or more...sets/series. The only caveat is to not stop at book 2, it is by far the weakest and seems a bit out of place, but even Logsdon said 2 was not all he had wanted it to be. THIS ONE WILL BE REISSUED SOONISH AND HAS BEEN REDONE TO A GREAT EXTENT AND IS VERY MUCH NOW PART OF THE SET. There are more than 5 total and got those to read as well. Sci-Fi fans that also like things mixed with humor or humour should definitely like these. In other news, it is quite possible that Logsdon has taken too many hockey puck shots to the head but still....

Just read and finished a beta arc {well do have to 'proof' it, but also different than before on the original Angry Robots}, and minus some bathroom jokes and other things, yep, it's back and it's better, less of a jarring to go in to the other books of the series, so sometimes even twisted can be fixed, or at least rebent in a different direction
I read the original book which was brilliant, this is an extended version of the original and it's all the better for it! Plot line is hilarious, a group of old Robots working in the sewer decide to revolt in the most revolting way! Cue Captain Don Harr and the misfit crew of Platoon F to sort the mess out. Full of innuendo and laugh out loud jokes, John and Chris have produced another highly entertaining romp through space.
These robots have had enough , they are treated worse than second class citizens, no perks for doing such a dreadful job, then the straw on the camel's back broke and they had enough, so they stopped work and flooded the building they worked in with the sewerage they have cleaned up for many years.
This book is very funny and this is the second in the series , I will be buying the rest of this series.
