Besides blue aliens, bear shifters and dragons; Ruby Dixon can also write about hot bikers.

Short and steamy, with a little angst just to make it interesting. It was my first non-alien or non-shifter book by this author - and yes, she can write anything.

Off Limits was another quick erotic read about Lucky who isn't so lucky and Solo, the Bedlam Butchers MC treasurer. Lucky has always been off limits, she is the younger sister of one of the club presidents. She maybe the sister but she doesn't wear the patches to show people she belongs to someone or something. A desperate attempt at getting laid brings her more grief than ever expected when she finds out that the guys she was about to fuck is part of the Eighty-Eight Henchmen, a rival MC that is up to no good. Somehow they find out who she is and want payback for being such a cock tease, but Solo keeps her safe using this as the perfect excuse to keep her close; preferably under him. Solo sets out to prove a point, mess with her and you mess with him and the entire Butchers MC...
This was one of those reads that was unfortunately just okay for me and it had nothing to do with the author's style just my own personal preference. I generally am good at accepting things for what it is and just go with the flow, but for some reason I couldn't with this one. It was a little bit of everything, the sideburns (not a fan), the fact that the MC is paired up having two of everything They fight together, ride together, and they fuck together. And the beginning, I'll check out the rest of the authors work, just didn't care for this story so much.

The writing is beyond bad, it's simply lazy. It's not even en erotica, it's a plain porn and a bad one at that.
The heroine, Lucky, meets a dude at a bar and goes to his motel room for some fun time. They undress and she sees swastika tattoos all over him. She freaks out and runs for the hills. But now they are after her. The creep finds out where she works and brings his buddies to pick up where they left of when she left him with blue balls. What this fuck was author thinking? Out of all the hateful characters she could've chosen, she picked a white supremacist.
Lucky works in her brothers MC club. One evening, when she is about to close the club and head home, the blueballed guy and his nazi gang breaks into the club is looking for her. Solo, who works for the club, comes to her rescue dragging her under the boxing ring to hide. If the gang find her, they will rape her. But man if cuddling under the boxing ring with Solo doesn't feel right.
“It feels good to lie against him. I’ve missed having someone to cuddle against when I’m sad or lonely.”
So while the white supremacists raid the club looking for her, there is sexy time happening under the boxing ring. Because Solo is only a man and regardless of the circumstances they are in, he can't resist copping a feel and then some.
“He’s still tonguing my ear, too, though he’s now migrating to pressing kisses on my neck occasionally. I don’t mind this.”
And it all happens in the first 10 pages. Forget the stupid story though, to each their own I guess. What pissed me off though was the fact that an author is acually expecting someone to pay for a book that is this lazily written. I guess anyone can write a book these days, publish and call themselves an author. But, whatever.
It was my first book by this author and I won't be reading anything else by her again.

Lucky, who isn't so lucky, was an outsider looking in. She was the sister of the MC prez and pretty much untouchable by any guy. She longed to be accepted as a part of the gang, but she was strictly Off Limits - until Solo saves her one frightful night. He saves her in more ways than one.
This was a dirty, dirty book...
I missed Ruby Dixon. She hasn't released a book for a while, so what do I do? I start another one of her series. DUH! While this book was nothing like her paranormal romances, I can still tell that Ruby wrote it. She just has that signature style to her writing that I really love.
This novella is smutty. I'm talking nothing but smut. Lucky was a good character. I really like her and Solo together. I never doubted their relationship. I wasn't very attracted to Solo's appearance. I think it was the sideburns; it's not really my thing. I could have just imagined up some new appearance for him, but Lucky wouldn't stop harping about his sideburns. Apparently, they were a big turn-on for her.
His chin was clean-shaven, but his sideburns creep all the way down to the corners of his mouth.
I think I prefer her blue aliens and dragons over her MC gang. However, I may continue them when that mood strikes me. There were some characters introduced that I would really like to see what she did with them in their books. Because Ruby is a dirty, brilliant woman.

Super short but it was pretty good, very steamy, loved that both a forbidden relationship, biker, and prize fighting what????? That culminates in going into brother’s office because can’t wait???? Yes that’s right, you want it quick, dirty and with a plot? Yes!

No soy demasiado fan de las historias de motociclistas, he leido varias y muy pocas me han convencido, sin embargo, Ruby Dixon es como una droga para mi, por eso lei esta novela.
Off Limits me parecio un libro diferente, incluso dentro de esta tematica, no obstante, creo que hubiese funcionado mucho mejor de haber sido un libro mas largo, quizas asi la trama hubiese tenido un desarrollo mas completo y pausado, y los personajes mas profundidad, pese a eso, esta bien para pasar un rato distraida.
En resumen, no creo que continue con la saga en este momento, pese a eso, no descarto retomarla en un futuro. Es original y para salir de la rutina es una buena opcion.

Off Limits by Ruby Dixon was another quick hot MC read! In this MC book, it centers on two people mutually attracted to each other and who crossed the lines of lust, temptation, and desire. Penny aka Lucky is not so lucky. She is the baby sister of one of the MC President of Bedlam Butcher MC. The thing with this particular MC everything is done in pairs. They have two presidents, two VP, and basically two of everything. They ride together, they play together, and basically fuck together. When Lucky crosses path with a rival MC group, Lucky’s life in endangered. Luckily for her, Eric aka Solo, the treasurer of the Bedlam Butcher was there to save Lucky from imminent danger. Is Lucky truly off limits because she is the baby sister of the President? And will she finally be considered lucky in love and life?
Overall, I did enjoy Off Limits. It was short and sexy. I think the story line was a little fast for my taste and the romance was so sudden given under the circumstance on how they hooked up.

Not sure why I’ve never tried this series of Ruby’s before, but wow that was such a quick and easy novella especially when read as an audiobook. This was cute, but I am confused about the pairing thing for all the other MC brothers so I’m guessing there will be a lot of ménage’s in this series? We’ll see, but I’m intrigued by Ruby doing an MC series lol

Heroine, Penny Taggert aka Lucky is so unlucky! Her brother, Gemini is one of the Prez. of Bedlam Butchers MC so no one is foolish enough to date her because of it! Unlucky Lucky! When she goes to biker bar one night she meets a rather good looking guy named Grass. They hit it off and together they go to a cheap motel. When things are about to get hot and heavy, he takes of his shirt, she sees the huge insignia on his chest indicating that he is a member of the Eighty-Eight Henchmen MC, a rival to her brother's MC and a deadly white swastika supremist MC! She gives an excuse about needing to do some girly things in the bathroom and hightails it out of there --- so yep, poor Lucky’s name holds true, it seems... Lucky is very unlucky!
One night working on the books, Grass is looking for none other than Lucky because he saw her bi parked out front at the gym. His breaks in with a few of his rowdy buddies to hurt Lucky but 'luckily' hero and treasurer of the BBM, Solo formerly known as Joker real name Eric Smithfield is there to save the day by hiding them both under the ring skirt of the boxing ring !
“This is club business.”He’s usually the happy-go-lucky one, but his voice is serious, and I know what he says goes. “He fucked with club property, and now he’s about to realize what it means to mess with the Butchers.”

3 1/2 stars, Off Limits is the first book by Ruby Dixon and I was really impressed with her writing, it flowed really well and made this a really easy quick read. I would call this book more erotic than romance but all in all it was a hot quick fun MC read that was one of those books you read for an easy escape. Even though there are some aspects in this book that didn't exactly fit with most MC rules this book was none the less a fun read.
I love to read all types of books but their are times when I need a break from heavy and from long books. When the rivals made problems with Lucky the Bedlam Butchers made a plan to take retribution, as Lucky and Solo wait they find themselves drawn to each other more and more and the connection grows. And then it is time to finish what they started but a twist may take Lucky not only away from the Bedlam butchers but from Solo as well.

I liked Solo and Lucky and really thought they were great together. I am very particular about what I read and I don't read anything to do with menage and the side characters bothered me a lot.
I didn't want to read about it even if it's not the hero/heroine involved. I also didn't like that Lucky wasn't possessive enough to keep others from watching him with Lucky.
I'm just set in my ways about my alphas. In an alley, in a dark corner, I can deal. But in front of everybody no ..just not for me.
But the parts of this sexy love story that I did like were good which gave it 3 strong stars.
I won't be able to continue in this series as the premise of this club is to share everything, being in pairs sharing women. So those men aren't for me at all.
Ruby writes well and I think this series would be good for those that don't need possessive heroes.

Lucky can't catch a break!
I love this girl though! She's been through a few things that have people convinced that she's the opposite of her name. She even believes the hype. When trouble finds her again, Solo steps in to save her, and the story takes a hotter turn from there. The story is fast-paced, well-written with a lot of action described in the pages, and characters that are easy to connect with!

I'll be honest. When I was offered this ARC, I had no idea who Ruby Dixon was or what she may have written before. I'm on Netgalley, I like MC reads on occasion and I was offered this so I thought, "It's short, I'm in a total book funk. Okie dokie."
I was very pleasantly surprised by this read. Pleasantly enough that when I finished it, I went to Amazon to see what else Ms. Dixon had available only to then be disappointed to find out this is her debut and I have to wait for the release (only till Oct 15th though) of the first full length in the series. This is not a cliffhanger though for my buddies who, like me, hate those. It's a complete story. It's just short.
For as short as the story is, Dixon packed in a fair amount of feeling and steam. Usually with shorties you get one or the other. However, I felt both and I found that impressive. It's rough enough to be a viable MC read, but it's not hardcore "making you my bitch" sort of thing. So, that worked for me.
I suspect there will be a lot of m-f-m action in the series given the setup of the way the club is run. . That doesn't always work for me. In fact, more often than not it's not my thing unless I'm just looking for plain steam. This book does NOT have any of that in it with the main characters and I suspect I won't mind it so much in the full length that comes next. I liked this enough to take a chance and see.
Given my mood lately with books, the fact that I really liked this is pretty telling. LOL! We all have funks.
There are some minor grammatical issues. Certainly fewer than the majority of debut novels though and not enough to irritate me in any way.
I look forward to more from Dixon! Bring on the new releases!

It's rough enough to be a viable MC read, but it's not hardcore "making you my bitch" sort of thing. So, that worked for me.
I suspect there will be a lot of m-f-m action in the series given the setup of the way the club is run. . That doesn't always work for me. In fact, more often than not it's not my thing unless I'm just looking for plain steam. This book does NOT have any of that in it with the main characters and I suspect I won't mind it so much in the full length that comes next. I liked this enough to take a chance and see.
Given my mood lately with books, the fact that I really liked this is pretty telling. LOL! We all have funks.
There are some minor grammatical issues. Certainly fewer than the majority of debut novels though and not enough to irritate me in any way.
I look forward to more from Dixon! Bring on the new releases!

Off Limits is the first novella in the Bedlam Butchers MC series but it’s also part of The Motorcycle Clubs series (see the bottom of this review for more information). Unfortunately, Off Limits was my least favorite of the four novellas I’ve read so far. It was still a good read, just not a great one. The lead characters were okay but nothing special. Something that didn’t sit well with me was Lucky (the heroine) and Solo (the hero) getting down and dirty while hiding from a rival MC who wanted to gang rape Lucky. That doesn’t seem like the best time to be getting sexy. But the thing that annoyed me to no end was the characters going back and forth between real names and nicknames, sometimes in the same paragraph. It was so distracting.
The possibility of a woman being patched into the Bedlam Butchers MC was interesting. I’m curious to see how the rest of the club will vote in regards to a woman being patched in. Another interesting element in this MC is that they have two club presidents and two vice presidents. Not sure why that is but it’s different. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the Bedlam Butchers MC series, which features both presidents (Gemini and Domino).

This book was just bad. Why is it that this author can write pretty good stories with super cute but not overly cheesy romance but only when it’s about aliens???

Short but good. Lucky is bad luck but has been eying up the most dedicated member of the gym. A little hide out session becomes a make out session which is pretty hard to believe considering how shit scared you’d be, but it makes for a good story. On to the next!

Not really long enough to truly flesh out the characters so some of the story was just silly or unbelievable (not in a good way). However, I think I’ll give the series a try with the next book. 🤞🏻
