Clockwork Passion

Rate this book
Thomas White is a banker during the day. But at night, he runs a crew for the notorious organized crime gang, Silent Death. When Thomas is ordered to kidnap the daughter of Daniel Rose, a retired cop who runs a vigilante group called City Fighters, he expects it to be an opportunity to impress the leadership with his crew’s professionalism.
Instead, Thomas finds himself drawn to Circe Rose in a way he has never been to another woman.
Circe is stubborn and defiant. She refuses to answer Thomas’ questions and routinely demands to be released. She even offers Thomas sexual favors in exchange for her freedom. Thomas refuses, but the idea intrigues him. She draws him in a little more each time they meet.
Thomas learns that Christopher Peters, a blacksmith and family friend, is searching for Circe. Thomas does not see the blacksmith as a threat, but he is fixated on the idea that Christopher and Circe might have a relationship she has failed to disclose. When Christopher gets too close, Thomas takes Circe to his personal home and spends the night in her company, an act that earns him the disapproval of the leadership of Silent Death. But Circe is becoming an addiction he can’t shake. And when he realizes that someone in his crew is giving information to Christopher, he begins to wonder if his blind trust in his crew is as misleading as his fascination with Circe.
