GEORGIA: I just wanted to escape my past. Instead, I was kidnapped and sold to a monster in Mexico. The creep wants me to give myself to him willingly, and his methods are working. But then, he takes me to an underground arena and I see a man who knows what it means to fight back.
They call him deadly, but to me, he looks like life.
Those muscles could set me free in more ways than I dare dream.
If only I could reach him.
ANDRE: In this town, I reign supreme. Even Cartel kingpins fear my strength. They drown me in riches to see it on display.
I know the truth. I'm nothing more than a mutt rolling around for treats, chained here by the weight of my past.
Then I met her - the broken pixie who saw me as a man to trust.
I thought freeing her would mean my redemption.
She might just turn out to be my salvation.

Uncaged is a standalone full-length romance set in the dangerous border town of Juarez, Mexico. This book contains strong language, sexual situations and violence. Mature audiences only.
This wasn't the book I expected but by the time I realised that I was settled in and enjoying it. What exactly did I expect? from the synopsis and the warnings I thought this would be a dark, gritty and difficult read and while the subject matter is not easy the book itself is. Georgia is a totally innocent young girl who escaped a difficult family home to find herself living alone in New York, but she's no real life experience, she's naive and gullible and that's what brings her to accept a lift to San Antonio, Texas from her new friend Teresa. This of course does not go well and Georgia finds herself in Mexico, kidnapped then sold to a Mr Tarly. Mr Tarly starts his campaign to win Georgia over, he takes her out for meals and then one night to a underground fight where she sees and seizes her opportunity to escape. Andre is the fighter known as Black Death and the little blonde brings out something in him, she makes him feel and that's something he hasn't done in a long time. This book had some good characters, I really liked Maria and while it was very predictable this didn't actually spoil the book. I seem to have lost all patience for stupid women lately and I was worried that Georgia would annoy me too much but as I read I realised she's not stupid she's just lacking experience living in the real world and that turned out to be one of the strengths of this book Georgia growing and become more confident in herself. I think I've been reading too many dark romances lately because when Mr Tarly was described as a monster I took that to mean he'd torture and physically abuse Georgia hence the book not being as I expected, don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's not a monster, just not the monster I thought.
3-3.5 stars. Super sweet book. From the description, it may sound dark and gritty, but it was not at all. I liked both Andre and Georgia. Wanted them to find a future together. I probably would have liked a little more dark and gritty, but sometimes you need a sweet and easy read.
This was a debut for the author and I thought she did a good job for her first effort. But there was just something missing. It was an easy read, but not gripping. I look forward to reading her next effort!
A really safe book. But a few notes for the Safety Gang.
A really good read that could've been an excellent read if the ending hadn't seemed so lacking in specifics. The conclusion, while filling, just left me short of being satiated.
I loved the plot and the action segments of the book were extremely exciting. Coupled with extremely likable Male and female protagonists, this book is a resounding success in my humble opinion. Maybe there will be another book in the future so that all of my lingering, pesky, "now what?" ,questions can be fully answered.
Still, I give this a must read. Buy it and enjoy!!!👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥
Kidnapped girl, fighter for the cartel, hiding out in Mexico and trying to get back to the USA...all the ingredients for this exciting new book. It was only 99 cents when I got it and seemed like it would be my cup of tea and I did enjoy it for the most part. It wasn't as violent and sexually explicit as most kidnap books are and yet, it still had a fair amount of bloody action in the form of fights (almost to the death) between Andre and all the opponents he was getting paid to fight for his crime bosses. I felt that Georgia, the girl tricked into going to Mexico and being sold to a rich man, was very immature and sheltered and almost behaved like she didn't have a clue as to what was going on. Her new "owner" was too nice to her (he never did more than kiss her before she escapes) and yet she acted like he was abusing her physically. The side characters of Maria and Dennis added some interesting dimensions to the story, as Georgia had their help to blend in and learn to live in the world she was thrust into. The last few chapters were chock full of exciting action as they all try to escape their miserable prison of a life under the thumb of the cartel. A few errors in word choices and wrong names in referring to some big US landmarks...but those are easy fixes.
**** 3.5 **** "redemption, salvation and freedom" stars
Partial review- Due to being a claims adjuster & well floods, I am only posting partial reviews here and full reviews on my blog.
I really enjoyed this book, the setting is Juarez Mexico. I grew up going to Juarez on a very frequent basis and this book was a solid reminder as to why Juarez is so different now.
It is the classic fighter love story, but I still enjoy the story and found the story predictible but still very enjoyable.
This wasn't exactly what I expected. I thought it would be a little darker. The plot was interesting, but the story didn't seem fully fleshed out and it didn't flow well IMO. There was just something off...missing. I was never quite able to really connect with Andre or Georgia either.
2.50 Stars. (WW/BM) A Kindle Unlimited 2-book. Human Trafficking. The heroine, Georgia is an 18-year-old virgin who has been home schooled and intimidated by a cruel father who has browbeaten her into believing that she must submit and acquiesce to the needs and desires of her husband or the male in her life that has rule over her. After her father condemns her to hell for disobedience, to escape his raft, Georgia runs away; but as she is fleeing, she is intercepted by a couple who sell her to a member of the Mexican Cartel. The first chance she gets, Georgia runs from her captor and escapes aided of the hero, Andre Jones and his close friends. Andre, Black Death, has fled to Mexico to escape imprisonment because Andre erroneously thought that there was an American warrant out for his arrest. The storyline is weight down with Cartel stuff and attempts at getting back into the US ... all of which is tedious and takes away from romantic interaction and relationship building between Georgia and Andre.
From the description, Uncaged by Paige Notaro sounded dark and gritty. It didn't quite get there for me, but I did find the story entertaining.
It is the story of a naive young girl who along with her friend head into Mexico. She then finds herself drugged and sold all because she innocently believed and trusted her so called friend. As the story unfolds, she understands that she has to take care of herself if she wants to survive the situation she finds herself forced into.
Her 'Owner' has Cartel connections. However, I must have missed something when reading it as I could not figure out what the connection was. He does come across as slimy and like most villains, untrustworthy. He does like illegal cage fights and he takes Georgia to one, and that is where she meets Andre.
Andre who has his own demons and is a lethal fighter, sponsored by the Cartel. Of course, he is one sexy man. He helps Georgia get away from her 'Owner' and subsequently they fall in love with other.
In order to protect her from the Cartel, Andre requests the help of his brother Dennis and his girlfriend Maria and together they try to keep her safe.
I found the story sweet and action packed, with a fair bit of conflict.
Georgia is a totally innocent young girl who escaped a difficult family home to find herself living alone in New York, but she's no real life experience, she's naive and gullible and that's what brings her to accept a lift to San Antonio, Texas from her new friend Teresa.
Things do not go as Georgia planned and she finds herself in Mexico, kidnapped then sold.
Andre is an American fighter known as Black Death fighting for the same cartel who has bought Georgia.
They have a chance meeting at a fight and neither one expects the outcome.
Storyline was entertaining, action packed, with a whole lot of conflict, a shade of darkness and contained a realistic theme. But it seemed to be lacking, like there could have been so much more to the story and we never really get to know the characters before the story is over?
Uncaged is the story of a very naïve young girl who is fooled into starting a new life in Mexico with a friend but instead is drugged and brought to Mexico where she is sold. The story line was very upsetting because this happens all the time and these young girls have no idea of the evils of the world even when they appear to them as friends. Not much happens in this story, she is sold, then she escapes and finds love. Its a very sweet story and I enjoyed how much Georgia grew. The end is wrapped up nicely in a bow with a HEA but that was ok with me because it was a well written story and kept my interest.
Received an ARC copy from the author for a honest review. I really liked it! Storyline was entertaining, action packed, with a whole lot of conflict, a shade of darkness and contained a realistic theme. Poor Georgia was a little naïve and somewhat sheltered but quickly grew up. Andre- Who doesn't like a sexy badass underground fighter? I think the characters fit each other. Georgia was like the light to Andre's darkness. Would have liked a little more steaminess to the romance. I would recommend.
It started off promising but then by the fourth chapter it turned into a romance novel and I found it was really slow and not as dark as I had suspected. It was cute in the way both main characters found each other but I felt the main story line faded for a bit and it was like a chore to turn the page.
It started kind of slow, but when the two main characters meet this books gets extra great. It ends with me wanting to read about how life goes for both the couple's back in the U.S.
I was actually surprised how much I did like this. It's not my usual fare. It's very researched and shows you a glimpse of a world people don't get to see very often. The romance is good, but the message seemed to me to be better. Be your own hero.
