This is a great book! Very interest concept, and has many depths to it. If you want spice and drama, this is definitely for you. Very good read, the kindest nice author. All around good book!

I liked Serena & Maximus 's story . It's a mafia enemies to lovers romance. I love that this was was packed with mafia dealings. I loved Serena she was a strong mafia queen, raised to be a weapon & lethal but she didn't let that break her. Maximus was Don of the rival family and I loved him and his brothers. They had such a great relationship & I love that Maximus once he claimed Serena as his he was all growling at his brothers not to touch her 😍 Serena & Maximus were a perfect team once they started working together to destroy the enemy and they were lethal. I was invested in their story hoping for the explosive romance especially after some enemies were taken down but unfortunately I feel like the love story ended up taking a back seat to the mafia plot. these two did get it on several times but there was no declarations of love etc which was a shame as im a sucker for massive declarations that just warm your heart & i was so desperately waiting to see Maximus' reaction when he finds out he will become a dad but that scene never happened. There was HFN but it felt more like a happy business partnership with mutual benefits. I was also annoyed that Voss escaped so easily because I would have loved to see Maximus take vengence..I know the storyline is continuing with the brothers books so maybe we will see Maximus in action then.

4 ⭐️’s - power couple in this book!
Serena is a weapon that her father created and her back story is really sad but also girl boss. Serena is sent on a mission to infiltrate and betray his enemies son, the new mafia don, Maximus De Luca but he see's her coming and makes her loyalties change.
I liked this book, it did feel like the romance took a back seat to the mafia plot until like the 60% mark but it also wasn't a slow burn. I was a little confused with some of the things in this book, a few things were explain well but I still found it relatively easy to follow and really enjoyed it. I couldn't put it down and I love Serena and Maximus working together and being so badass. The ending was so good, Voss is missing which was a bit disappointing that we didn't see his death cause I hated him, but seeing Serena happy and powerful was so good, usually I don't like when a powerful badass woman gets pregnant before the big ending but she deserved to be happy and I loved it 🥰

Strong mafia aspect
I love mafia books and this one is purely mafia, the whole story is about mafia world and you can see the calculating, vengeful world full of betrayal and survivor. i wasn’t sure what will be the main plot twist but after half of the book it was predictable, but I was still interested. What was kinda weird for was the romance and repetitivness where he talks to her like she is his possession and obsession and she is his and cannot do anything about it. There is no yearning, no falling in love, you don’t feel it from the pages. Spice scene are very shortly described and I actually haven’t felt anything when I read them. So to sum it up, it is ok mafia story where mafia aspect is 5⭐️ but romance is like 1,5 ⭐️ thus 3⭐️ review from me. Writting is good, it is dual first person POV with HEA, also she is very strong and smart heroine which I love.
