For eighteen-year-old Kennedy Alberhill survival in a collapsing world hinges on three rules:
First, don’t get caught in the blue rain. Second, don’t let the Neons infect you. And third, don’t ever let your guard down.
These rules keep Kennedy and a small band of survivors safe inside a compound secluded in the Oregon Forest. But even an electric fence can’t guarantee security.
As the Neons evolve into cunning packs addicted to the blue rain and driven to multiply, Kennedy confronts dangers on both sides of the makeshift barrier.
With each relentless storm the stakes continue to rise, forcing Kennedy to make a desperate decision she’d never thought possible.
Fast paced read thats perfect for dystopian and post-apocalyptic fans! Love that it also had an almost beauty and the beast-esque storyline in it that you don't often see on scifis. The romance wad super cute and well done <3
Had potential but it was crushed by adding all the common tropes instead of focusing on character development through shared experiences. I don’t think a bachelors in biology would be very helpful for studying human and plant DNA. But they needed a young character to ship with the 18 year old main female character. There’s a snotty female in the camp that wants her boyfriend. Surprise! The military is not as honorable as they seem. Oh wait, that’s another trope. They barely touched on what’s happening to others outside the world.
This book was captivating from the first page to the very last page. A great love story that encompasses all the love a young woman should have, for her mom, her dad, her brother, her dog and for the new man in her life.
There was so much compassion in this book... I craved more and more, and the fire that burns through this book stays with you long after you finish it. Definitely worth your time!
This book pulls you right in and keeps you turning pages until the last. The characters were very likable and I hated to see the book end. I would love to see a sequel!
