When Fancy was adopted into her forever home she knew her life had changed for the better, but little did she know her adventures had just begun. Feisty Fancy gets to know her neighborhood pals and realizes some are friends and others need to realize that Fancy rules this roost. This fun and lighthearted short story is appropriate for all ages.
Through Fancy, Kaleigh Mills describes Second Chances -"a great group of humanoids who love all animals – not just dogs – and help us find our Forever Homes. Of the four of us that ran away, Bailey was the first to be adopted, then Jack, then Benji, then me. I wasn't too upset to be the last to go."
In this book, Mills clarifies how the pound is different from Second Chances as Fancy is told: “All creatures should want to avoid the pound. That's why our Master doesn't open the gate. You'll chew you up and spit you out like an old shoe. The dog catcher will take you to the pound for that." Fancy's housemate, A Siamese cat, tells Fancy: " “It is where creatures with no home live in cages and cross over the Rainbow Bridge before their time.”
The author also stresses that all pets in a neighborhood need to get along. In Mills book, Fancy plots a plan with Ramses, a Border Collie: "I want your help in knocking their (the chihuahuas- Taco and Tico's) egos down a peg or two.”
This book was one of three in the series I read all three, they are the sweetest books about dogs if you love dogs read all three, and they have a couple special friends with them, the loveable cats, wonderful books I loved all three second chance books.
I only choose 4 stars instead of 5 because as an adult, a book that can be read in 6 minutes leaves a bit to be desired. But I'm sure kids will like it just fine. It's a very cute story. I only wish all dogs in need of homes were as lucky as Fancy.
A small dog named Fancy is harassed by two chihuahuas. Fancy is determined to pay them back by bringing on more help. This is a cute and very short story.
What a great story! It was eat how Fancy found out a way to lower some small dogs egos that were being very rude and unkind towards any other dogs that happen to walk by their property. I recommend this dog story of a rescue dog for any age and to all who love to read a short, sweet, clean reads ebook of dogs. So, great, that this is my feeling that it needs five stars. I received this ebook through this store in which I had to buy it myself. But found it very worthwhile to have done so. Great work Kaleigh! By Angela
This was a cute short story in a dog's POV. The dog being Fancy. When Fancy went for her walks, she had to pass a pair of yappy chihuahuas which ruined her peaceful time. Fancy came up with a plan on how to teach then a lesson and just needed some help from her canine friends.
I liked the author's take on how dogs communicate with each other.
If you are looking for a quick, fun getaway, I highly recommend this story.
