Newly Revised & Polished Edition. Some bonds cannot be broken. Some secrets were never meant to be kept.
When blacksmith's daughter Thea Ironwood is selected to attend the prestigious Crown's Talon Academy, she's thrust into a world where bloodlines determine destiny and dragon riders rule. No one expects her to succeed – least of all Imperial instructor Riven Skyblade, whose cold disdain makes it clear commoners don't belong among the elite.
Everything changes at the Claiming Ceremony when Skyriss – a rare silver-blue dragon who has rejected countless noble candidates – chooses Thea. Their instantaneous bond draws the watchful eye of Lady Ravenna, the academy's enigmatic leader whose interest in Thea goes far beyond mere curiosity.
As Thea navigates a dangerous world of ancient magic and hidden agendas, she begins to suspect her presence at the academy is no accident. And the truth behind her unexpected bond might be more dangerous than anyone could imagine.
Well developed storyline with adventure , intrigue, danger, and dragons. Characters are easy to root for. They continue to develop and evolve as they work to make connections, figure out how to save the dragons and their riders, save each other, and even find love.
The idea of the story is good. The obvious lack of proofreading mak s it not worth reading. Would really like to see it after the author took the time to correct all the mistakes and the confusion created by the jumbled paragraphs.
Reading this story feels like reading separate vignettes thrown together without transitions. Time and dates are inconsistent and often contradictory. Events apparently happen off-page and are suddenly part of the plot with no introduction or explanation.
There is no real character development.
If an author is going to use AI as part of their writing process, they should at least edit for consistency and depth of characters. Unfortunately, this author did not.
good story line but unbelievably befuddled and repetitive
This book had a great storyline, but it was confusing, no real timeline, and extremely repetitive. It was hard to follow along and it seemed to be ai or enhanced with ai. Several mistakes that wouldn’t be missed if it had just been skimmed through. I would not recommend reading pandemic I won’t be reading part 2! It was rough to complete the whole book!!
This book was a good medium between fourth wing and fireborne. The bond between riders and dragons was great! Not very romance heavy if that’s what you’re looking for. There’s some yearning and sprinkles of romance. The love story is important to the storyline. I kind of wish the villain and her evil plan hadn’t been revealed so quickly and plainly. I would’ve loved to guess who was the villain, and the main conflict. Overall, easy read and interesting story!
