Rate this book
London 1818,

Lady Amelia Swanton has never been one to gamble, but with her family's future at stake, she has no choice but to make a daring wager. Desperate to settle her father's crushing debts, she seeks the aid of Charles Black, the infamous owner of London's most notorious gaming hall.

Charlie Black rose from nothing to wealth and power. He doesn’t forgive debts, and he certainly doesn’t do favours. Yet, there’s something about Lady Amelia’s fiery spirit that tempts him to make an exception - at a price. In exchange for his help, he demands the ultimate her virtue.

As Amelia steps into Charlie’s dark world of intrigue and risk, she finds herself drawn to the man behind the devilish mask. The stakes are high, and as their attraction ignites, she begins to could there be a heart buried beneath his ruthless exterior? Or will surrendering to him cost her more than she’s willing to lose?

About the author

After plagiarising The Magic Key books at the tender age of six by writing her own versions of the stories, Megan knew she wanted to grow up to write books. Many years later, after a stint in Insurance and Finance, she finally knuckled down and finished a book worthy of being published.

For Better or Worse is her debut published (albeit self-published) novel and now there is a stack of ideas and almost-finished first drafts ready to be born. Books involving New York, Paris, New Years Resolutions, Yoga Instructors and deceptions are all in the pipeline, so keep an eye out!

The light-hearted and witty women's fiction Megan is aiming for may not go on to change the world or become a classic to be studied by grumpy students in fifty years time, but sometimes we just want to curl up with a good book and head into someone else's world for a little while.

When not furiously typing away at a keyboard or scribbling illegible notes on scraps of paper, Megan spends her time watching old movies, trying not to buy more shoes or playing with feather fans for a burlesque act.
