I just felt like reading something quick with characters I know so I decided on this. It was nice to see the characters again (the anime was pretty sick) and it passed the time alright! Only a 3*'s though because it was just one-shots.

It's basically a collection of one-shots, the app I read it on only had 12, so I don't know if that's all of it but I'm guessing it is. It was a looooot of fan service, but it was quick to read so I don't mind, and I was expecting it anyway.

(I don't know why other reviews were expecting plot lmao its otome manga haha)

Well, I didn't check the plot summary or genre. I didn't know what an otome game means. I read this because the name sounded familiar and I wanted to give it a try. Now I realize that there is no summary because there is no plot.

There is hardly any plot and it's just so.....ugh. It was a recommendation, but I'd probably pass on it

I tortured some of my friends into watching this with me bc they keep playing the soda pop song and they wouldn't stop so if youre looking for a torture device I 10/10 recommend.

things in this show that torture ppl: the cringiness, the fact that this was 100% once a wattpad story, MC, and predictability! 🥰

if I hear the word pancake one more time ima lose it

It wasn't good. I was vaguely familiar with the Diabolik Lovers' universe and this book didn't make me want to learn more.

I usually love anthologies but this one felt discombobulated, plot-less and the only constant was that the poor girl kept being abused and assaulted. There was no good morals/themes, no character arcs and it made the volume bland and not as eye-catching as it could have been.

It was my first manga! Honestly the anime is much better. I don’t like it how the girl is used in the whole story... about the story, it’s confusing and always the same. I thought it would be as good as the anime, but nope 👎

Like everyone is literally crazy for Yui and I could say that she's a pick me the whole time. I only ship her with Ayato, he's the most handsome one. And it's like not that good anime for me, I have seen better.

WARNING for this entire manga series ⚠️
Bloody scenes, underage characters (they are high school students)in inappropriate situations, abuse, unhealthy romance, incest, s*icide attempt, suggestive themes and sexual content.

I don't understand the hype Diabolik Lovers has online there are better otome games and shōjo manga out there.
You know the only thing other than the OST that are enjoyable in this game are the character designs and the main story that relates to Karl Heinz.
I dislike majority of the rest of the game mainly because they are often lazily written and the back stories and main story are awkwardly placed and filled with contradiction and plot holes.
My other reasons are that the majority of the male characters are awful and cruel and the main character Yui Komori is a total idiot and a disgustingly selfish person.
I don't like the vast majority of the franchise either because most of it is scenario based which means a lot of what happens are episodic, meaningless and stupidly boring chapters and CD dramas focusing on fan service and cringe attempts at "fuff" romance.
This story is far from being any kind of "fuff" romance and is actually a dark fantasy/supernatural series focused on uncovering the backstory of various vampire families(Sakamaki,Mukami,Tsukinami and Kino) and the truth about Karl Heinz's Adam & Eve project, while keeping Yui alive.
There is hardly any actual romantic scenes or even friendship in this series, the games are a mix of backstory of whoever's route the players choose and vampire cringe scenes with some plot at the end.
The main story of Diabolik Lovers:Dark Fate and Lost Eden are intriguing but because it is a otome game aimed at fangirls and otaku, the story and the characters' development falls short which is extremely disappointing.
I was very interested in knowing the hierarchy of demons and vampires,Yui's past,Karl Heinz's plans, knowing more about Eden, the church involvement with the sacrificial brides, etc but instead I was given no explanation of any real information on what the difference between demons & vampires are in this story, their hierarchy or linage or about even about the different clans that keeps being mentioned.
Instead I received contradictory explanations on the differences between vampires, demons, shape shifters and "The Founders" and everything else I read was either "put on the back burner" or never mentioned.
The series has eight games, several CD drama,a manga series and a two season net animation with a special episode for the DVDs option and still Yui hasn't been written with a story or proper development.
It is insane how this game has this much potential and the writers refuse to even bother to write something of value.
The manga and the show are garbage and the games are barely hanging on with only two of them focusing on a main story and not just suggestive themes, bloody scenes and back story flashbacks.
This series needs a new staff of writers and a new director who aren't horny weirdos or otaku but respectable, mature and logical people who actually give a shi-about what they are writing.

English translation.

Realize this is a book more for the perverted heart. No specific plot but instead multiple different ways the story could go.
