Cory Dirkwood is not excited about moving from spooky Salem, Massachusetts to the boring little town of Blackford, Indiana. At least not until he spots his new home, an old funeral home, abandoned in the 1980s and left exactly as it was the day it closed. It will be the perfect place to film vlogs for his 50,000 MacabreVid followers. Cory soon discovers the builder of the house had his own secrets, including grave robbing and conducting medical experiments without a license, but Phineas Blackford was a man of even darker secrets. Cory and his new friends seek to uncover those secrets, but they may not be ready for what they discover.
It was a great book and was full of twists and turns with some good suspense. In my opinion the book seemed rushed and too short. The book kind of got far fetched when ghosts appeared and then again when the “dead” people showed up. Mark is an excellent author and I love reading his books 📕. All of his books are entertaining but this one left me somewhat disappointed and wanting greater details.

I'm not the target audience, but I think this is spectacular for the demographic Roeder is aiming for! I enjoyed We Bought a Funeral Home as an audiobook on Audible, and I highly recommend this version. The narrator is fantastic!
