USA Today bestselling author Cynthia St. Aubin wrote her first play at age eight and made her brothers perform it for the admission price of gum wrappers. A steal, considering she provided the wrappers in advance. Though her early work debuted to mixed reviews, she never quite gave up on the writing thing, even while earning a mostly useless master's degree in art history and taking her turn as a cube monkey in the corporate warren.

Because the voices in her head kept talking to her, and they discourage drinking at work, she started writing instead. When she's not standing in front of the fridge eating cheese, she's hard at work figuring out which mythological, art historical, or paranormal friends to play with next. She lives in Colorado with the love of her life and three surly cats.

A very pleasant surprise...

I'm a huge fan of Kerrigan Byrne and when I heard she was writing The Witches of Port Townsend, I one-clicked without a second thought. I think I remember reading that it had more than one author and that it was part of a series, but honestly, I just bought it without much research. The thing is, while I love Kerrigan Byrne, I can't say I'm a huge fan of Witch stories. I admit, it has been sitting on my Kindle for a wee while. I don't know what drew me to it, but all of a sudden, I was desperate to know more about Which Witch is Witch?

Oh my Lordy, I am so eating my words. I bloody LOVED IT! The characters were appealing, the storyline was engaging, and the connection between all the characters jumped off the pages. I am now a fan of Witches. 😉

Four witches separated at birth are reunited by magic. Four of the most violent men in history were determined to keep them separated or kill them before they doom the world. But, funny things happen when Conquest meets Moira, War meets Claire, Pestilence meets Aerin, and Death meets Tierra. It's not so easy to kill the one person who has beaten you, stolen your sword, survived your touch, and lived to see another day.

This is a story about family connections, fate, and fighting for what you believe in.

Once I settled into Which Witch is Which? I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be back for more. I didn't mind the way this story was written, and think by having each Witch written by a different author, made it easy to connect to each of them as four very different women. It flowed well and didn't feel disconnected at all.

If you're a fan of any of the authors, and if you like stories with Witches or four sexy Horseman of the Apocalypse, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend it.

Blurb :

Four identical sisters are prophesied to hold the fate of the entire world in their powerful hands.

Meet the Witches of Port Townsend...

The de Moray sisters clash with the most dangerous immortals the earth has ever known. Locked on opposing sides of a battle older than time, their fight is only the beginning...of the end.

Moira by Cynthia St. Aubin
A water witch, Moira has always been a healer, but the one soul she can't mend is her own. When a magical spell summons her away from the safety of the Bayou, she doesn't foresee that Conquest, the first deadly Horseman of the Apocalypse is the mysterious danger she’d been hiding from. But the discoveries don’t stop there, she has three sisters who looks exactly like her, and their stories are as unbelievable as her own.

My review : Moira was found and raised in the bayous, and while she is a magic touch for healing, the way she uses her gift keep her apart of the others. Adored by men and hated by women. Yet, when she feels a magic call to go home, she encounters Nick on her way, a man determined to have her and drawn to her even if he well aware of the events under way because of her coming. They are instantly drawn to another but both play on opposite sides.
Moira is a fun character, she needs to stand a bit for herself and Nick seems the man to help, if they weren’t working one against the other.

Claire by Cyndi Stark
A fire witch, Claire's a passionate woman cursed by her powers, longing to find someone who can withstand her love. She believes she's forever destined to be alone until she receives a message summoning her "home." The world's most violent man stands between her and her family, and even if she wins the battle, she may lose her heart to War.

My review : Claire longs to belong but she only get a glimpse at love, sucking the flame out of it but in the end, she is left empty, until her encounter with a man who truly fire her blood, it just damn unfortunate he wants her dead. Dru knows what he had to do but something upon meeting Claire changed, he wants something else than killing and fighting.
Their relationship is one of dominance and attraction, yet when promises are broken, what is left of them.

Aerin by Kerrigan Byrne
An air witch, Aerin is a ruthless businesswoman well on her way to ruling the corporate world, until she discovers she not only has three identical sisters, but their fates are entwined with the apocalypse. When she meets Pestilence, an immortal whose destiny is to wipe out entire civilizations, she not only withstands his lethal touch, she craves it.

My review : Aerin rose from nothing, now a wealthy and powerful business woman in the tech medicale world. So of course, Pestilence was the right opponent. I like Julian, while a warrior of destruction, and unable to change his fate, he has empathy with his victims and the havoc he let loose on the world. Together they are great as they feel instant recognition yet they are enemies. Thus the dilemma of what is to come.

Tierra by Tiffinie Helmer
An earth witch, Tierra is all about nature and nurturing her relationships with her newfound sisters. Family means everything to her, and she'll do whatever she must to keep her sisters safe. But unless she can resist Death himself, humanity's prospects are grim.

My review : Tierra is the sole sister who has known whom she was all her life, thus she does not question her gift. Yet, she always felt like something was missing. So when she is certain of her identity, she questions everything else after meeting her siblings. They are everything she is not, sexually assured women going where they want when she never once had a lover. Why she challenged herself to change it, and yes, she did it. Bane is the endpoint in the foursome the Horsemen of the Apocalypse are. After him, there is nothing else. So when a chance encounter put him on Tierra’s path, will he follow his orders ...

This four-voices story instantly sucked me, each of the sister has her own very peculiar upbringing and personality, they are all a challenge in themselves and while sometime obnoxious of what’s going on around them, they are no easy prey, they fight to the last breath for themselves and the others.
A much enjoyable read, and now I need to know what comes after.

Tierra knows there's something missing in her life. She's an Earth witch, comfortable with her abilities, but there's a hole or three in her heart. Against the wishes of her aunt and her coven, she casts a powerful spell to draw back to herself that which has been taken. Without knowing it, she's started the world on a collision course with the Apocalypse. With a capital A.

Moira, Claire and Aerin all hear the call. They don't know who or what is pulling them west, but they cannot stop themselves from answering the pull. Each having their own powers: water, fire, and air respectively, they all know they're different from the people around them. What they didn't know is they each have three identical sisters.

All four meet their respective Horseman of the Apocalypse. Immortal men sworn to stop the prophesy the sisters will -intentionally or not- fulfill. But they each find something in one of the sisters that draws them.
The battle lines are drawn, and if the Horsemen have anything to say about it, at least one of the sisters cannot survive.

"The earth sighed and a truth she was never supposed to know manifested itself. Her spell had broken another. A banishing spell as old as she was."

There's a saying about too many cooks spoiling the pot. That saying could not be farther from the truth in this collaboration by Cindy Stark, Tiffinie Helmer, Cynthia St. Aubin, and Kerrigan Byrne. All four of the authors' voices blend so beautifully in this work, that it sounds as though they are speaking as one. There's no clear line between which author wrote which piece, save for the title pages.

The female characters are starkly different, and are very well-rounded. Each has their own personality. At first, Moira's bumpkin-isms annoyed me. But, as her inner voice expanded, I came to accept them as her "outer-voice". More of a vocal habit than a sign of ignorance. Her insecurity of the use of her gifts felt real. Claire's struggle with her powers and the decisions around them were stark and filled with true confusion and the need for love and acceptance. Aerin's hard-nosed business-minded strength complemented the emotional weaknesses her sisters have. Her own hidden vulnerability and shocked reluctance to accept the truth were very much suited to her character. Tierra's self-doubts and confusion leading her to make a decision that had unknown repercussions led to a really great climax in the book.

The male characters suited their heroines' quite well. Each believed they had the fortitude or power to do what was necessary, but found themselves thwarted and admiring the strength of their counterparts.

The plot(s) flowed with no hiccups, no dragging, and no excess filler. Instead of being formulaic and cut-and-paste with the stories, each sister's chapter had their own conflict. I absolutely loved that about this book. You never knew how they were going to meet, what the reaction would be, or how they'd slip out of the trouble they'd fallen into.

The climax of the book is vividly written. The scenes and action are clear to the reader without losing the emotion or intensity.

I'm almost certain a sequel must be in the works. I'd be happy to read any collaboration between these four authors in the future, sequel, or not.

Fun read! So you have 4 witches, an Earth witch (Teira), a Fire witch (Claire), a Water witch(Moira) and an Air (Aerin) witch and they were all separated at birth. Because according to legend if these four witches got together they would break the 7 seals and cause the end of the world. Of course you have the four Horsemen enter the story and they are tasked with stopping these women from coming together. Of course Nick (Conquest) is up with Moira and her little mini pig Cheeto, they square off, but of course that ole pesky attraction gets in the way. Dru (War) steps up to the plate after telling Nick to step aside and let a real man do the job with Claire....strike 2...after Claire steals War's sword...oooopsss! Julian (Pestilence) advises that he can get the job done with one touch to Aerin's hand...nope...he just gave her a head cold...darn the luck and strike 3!! So Death (aka Killian)walks into a bar...lol...that punch line never gets old and picks up a beautiful woman and they decide to have a quickie in the forest. She is determined not to die a virgin and he is just so gosh darned horny for her. Too bad they didn't get each other's name until after they had done the dirty deed...ummmm...several times. Tiera is horrified that she and Death just got down and dirty. Killian just realizes he had smexy times with someone he needs to escort to heaven or hell. Of course there is more to the story and a big (well eventually it will be bigger) spanner in the works as it were and I intend to go pick up the next one, as it ends in a very cliff-hangy manner.

wow an awesome read by 4 amazing writers

The story is about 4 witches separated at birth - Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Each writer wrote about one sister and her matching element, as well as her journey to Tierra who always sense something was missing in her life so cast a spell to find out what. This drew first Moira the Water Witch, then Claire the Fire Witch and finally Aerin the Air Witch.

On their journey home each sister has an encounter with one horseman of the apocalypse, sent to kill them to stop them breaking one of the seven seals of hell and ending all life on earth. Things don't go according to plan

who will triumph in the end the four sisters or the four brothers - or does love be the one to triumph in the end

Can't wait for the sequel to this book

Warning - the book contains hot witch's, hot brothers and even hotter magic and sex

What do you get when you have 4 outstanding Authors collaborate on a book? One kick ass amazing read that I did not want to end. I loved all the characters, and the plot line. This will be a book I will reread many times over. It had me spellbound from page one. Each Author told the story of one sizzling sister with an equally hot Horseman and all the struggles that ensues. If you love the paranormal you need to read this book, if you love a good romance with plenty of action you must read this book. Just pick it up and read it, and I hope you will love it as much as I did. Well done, and I can't wait to find out what will happen next!

This book was awesome. These four authors each wrote super fun romances. The concept of four identical sisters and their contribution to the "end of the world" is very unique. Great story lines for each of the sisters and their hero's. A must read. I understand each author will be writing their own character in a full length story one each year for the next four years. I look forward to the books coming out in the future. This story "Which Wurch is Which" is very entertaining.

“The world is an overpopulated, unmitigated disaster. Your governments are all corrupt, incompetent machines run by money and special interests. Humans in the first world are overfed, entitled, heartless bureaucrats who prefer to be blind to the suffering of others so long as they’re entertained by screens and buttons and social diseases."

Can fiction ever be too realistic? The social commentary in Which Witch is Which hit home at times. Thankfully, the de Moray sisters are around to remind readers of the good in the world - at least in this first book. Separated at birth, these four identical witches are prophesied to hold the fate of the entire world in their hands. As they reunite with each other, they clash with the most dangerous immortals the earth has known - the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

I honestly didn't know what to expect going into this story. I'd read books by two of the four authors, but not a collaboration like this one. This collaboration by Cynthia St. Aubin, Cindy Stark, Kerrigan Byrne, and Tiffinie Helmer was incredibly entertaining. The authors' voices blend well. It reads as though one author could be responsible for the entire narrative. The plot flowed nicely with each sister having their own conflict. In addition, there is the over-arcing conflict. Fair warning, that conflict is NOT resolved in this book, as this is book one in a four part series.

this was amazing! i loved the whole concept. the skill for the authors to pull this off, 4 authors all taking one charcter, but still capturing the voices of the other authors, is mind blowing. the plot is also just perfect. i loved all the sisters, but the Cajun Moira was my favorite. Aerin was the saddest, the one i most felt for. i hope her life becomes more fullfilling in the rest of the series. Those poor horseman, lol. they never stood a chance

A lot has happened in this book! I actually enjoyed it. All the characters are different. This is such a unique twist to this story that make is completely different. I do have to say the aunt is annoying and am shocked she isn't teaching or telling the girls more about their history. I suspect foul ideas about her and we'll see if they come true. I'm going straight into the next book!

I've got to say, at the beginning of this book I was so disappointed that Kerrigan Byrne gave her characters up to other authors, as I have love her books, especially her berserker trilogy and her de Moray Druid trilogy. I liked the MacKay Banshee trilogy, but not quite as much as the other two. Anyway my review goes as follows:

Moira by Cynthia St. Aubin: I found the writing of this sister to be ridiculous and trite (I can not begin to explain how much it pains me to even use that term as I think it is so overused that the word in and of itself has become trite, but nothing could be used in place of trite, so trite it is!). Moira is a water Druid (or witch in this century) and in that vein a healer. So how does she use her healing power? Through sex and in extension only to males, but of course not the males she is close to and loves (huh?). Seriously this makes me think that this author didn't bother to read the books it is supposed to be based on. Am I a prude because of sex, no PLEASE bring on some sexy times, but unfortunately she leaves you hanging. This is an author that has never met a "southern hillbilly" simile she didn't like. She wants to make her character seem as ignorant as she can possibly make her and then she wants you to view her as intelligent. One way or the other honey, please make up your mind as it is okay either way. I understand that she wanted to create a complex character who is misunderstood, but she failed...horribly! Luckily for her later authors in the collection brought this idea to life.

Clair by Cindy Stark: Not quite as bad as the first story, but no where good enough to encompass the fire of a fire Druid (aka witch). I like the idea of Clair not understanding her power and therefore draining her lovers. I also like how she socks it to "war" so to speak. However, she is a fire witch so she needs to be portrayed as strong and all consuming as apposed to weak to the wiles of a man, again PLEASE Read the source material!!!

Now we come to Aerin by Kerrigan Byrne: Yes thank you!! She writes of a woman powerful enough to stop pestilence in his tracks! She is strong and hard, I did find her, at first, a little unbelievable when it came to how she dealt with her sisters, but given then page constraints I can understand the authors choices. Finally a woman powerful enough that you believe she is strong enough to defeat a horseman of the apocalypse. I love the climax of this story!

Last, but not least (I can't believe I even said that!) is Tierra by Tiffinie Helmer: wow does this story bring the book together! I'm so glad she was the finale, which is surprising to me as I wanted Kerrigan to end the book! This was an awesome addition to this book, which brought a fullness to all the characters as well as throwing as wrench in the whole story. Holy shit! I always see the ending coming, but this ended up surprising me! Also, she is hilarious, which I always appreciate.

So in conclusion, the second half of this book ended up saving this first half in spades! If you are considering reading this please note that it ends in a sort of cliff hanger and the second half is due out in October '15. That does not mean that you should not read this book now! Also, please consider Kerrigan Byrne's other stories (especially the de Moray trilogy) first. (Especially if you love Shakespeare).

4 witches for 4 horsemen

4 witches separated at birth are drawn to Port Townsend. 4 horsemen to save the world from 4 witches. 4 seals are opened. This is very intriguing what happens next remains to be seen. This book draws you in and I couldn't put it down. Will they cause the apocalypse? I can't wait to find out in book 2.

I really liked this, but I was frustrated when I got to the end and was left hanging with no resolution. Grrrr... I hope there's a sequel and it arrives sooner than later.

Still loved the story and the concept. Sexy witches, Four hunky Horsemen, pending apocalypse... what's not to love. And the familiars.... so freaking cute!!!! Yes, three exclamations worth of cuteness there.

My biggest problem was I never could decide who was causing the apocalypse and who was trying to stop it. Really...I know the witches were supposed to be causing it and the Horsemen stopping it but that didn't make sense to me since we're talking the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. They cause it right? I dunno. Maybe it was a literary switch which is cool. Or maybe I never understood the Horsemen's roles. I just never felt like I was on solid ground as to how the witches were supposed to be causing it and why the horsemen would be stopping it.

Aside from that, the writing was good, the characters distinct and interesting, the women beautiful and the men HOT. Ok, there were times when Moira's colloquialisms got tiring (especially I think in Claire's story) but by the end of the book, I was finding her more endearing. Not that I ever disliked her... not the case at all. Anybody with an adorable little fire breathing pig just can't be bad. I actually liked all the women and mostly all the men. I never really warmed to Nick, but that's me.

Anyway, I did really enjoy the read I just want the end.

Like any book with short stories some of these are better than others. I did like the common thread within this book, even though it was a bit unrealistic.

My favorite sisters were Moira and Aerin. In some ways they were similar, yet in others so different. Moira with her hillbilly ways had me laughing with her sayings, she definitely called a spade a spade. Aerin was the same in that respect, however she didn't have as colorful language.

Claire and Tierra were so so for me, especially Teirra. I did love how the sisters goaded Teirra to do something she probably wouldn't have on her own. The sisters reaction to the result was hilarious.

The Four Horsemen brought about some comedy too as each of them failed in their task. The teasing between them was great.

As things were left open ended I hope there is more because I'd like to know who wins, the Witch sisters or the Horsemen.

Amazing, Spectacular, Beautiful, Hilarious, Magical.

I love this book. I love the characters. I couldn't put it down and I cannot wait for the next one. My only complaint about this is that it was too short. I finished the book and thought.... 'that's it? no.... I want more' I would recommend that everyone who enjoys a good storyline and fantastic characters to buy this book, read it, and share it with everyone you know. I personally am sharing this with my friends and family. My ma has the book now and she plans to read it when she finishes the book she is reading. I cannot stress enough that this book is incredible!!! Thank you to the authors of this for taking the time to write this and please give us more!!

OMG! If just ONE reviewer would have told the other readers that NO ONE in the four stories got their HEA I would never have started this book. As much as I liked Nick, Moira, Dru, Claire, Aerin, Julian, Tierra and Killian, the witches vs the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse it just sucked to end the way it did. AND no word on whether there will be another book? If you want to be left up in the air then, by all means, read this book. I'm so ticked off I can't even stand it.

I loved this book. Another spin on The Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I especially loved Moira's story by Cynthia St Aubin. She was the witch I loved the most. However, when they were all together, I hated how the sisters were especially judgemental towards her and her talking, acting and the choices she made aka fucking her way to her sisters.

So, we have Moira Joule de Moray aka Malveaux. She is the water witch. She ends up with Nicholas Kingswood who is Conquest. Moira comes from the swamps. She is a simple country girl, seemingly hated by all women as she uses her wiles on the men, but she is just offering some good ol'fashioned Marvin Gaye sexual healing.

We have Aerin Doe. She is the Wind witch (at first I had mixed up her powers and Moira's powers). She is also a tech CEO. A city girl who loves the conveniences and her cigarettes. She ends up with Julian Roarke who is Pestilence/Famine.

We have Tierra de Moray. She is the earth witch. She is actually the one who grew up knowing who she is and not having been thrown out of the home. She is also the stereotypical hippie witch. She ends up with Killian Bane, who is Death or as Nicholas (I think) defined him, the afterlife decider/the weighing scales of whether you are going to the good place or the bad place. She is the major character in this story and she starts off the process of them all coming together and seemingly, again, due to being judged by her sisters, she dooms them all.

We finally have Sinclaire Brenton/Claire aka Sinclaire D'Ambrose. She is the fire witch. She ends up with Drustan Geddes who is War. We do not really get to know her profession (as far as I can remember). She lives in Bali and has a magical vagina that leeches out the bad in men and then makes them the ideal partners for other women. Home girl just needed family.

While each couple is interesting, has their own points of conflict and are undeniable to each other, I just could not get over the far fetched duty of the guys. They were willing to kill each others partners, but not their own, and funny how each time a seal broke, it was because the sisters were being pushed together by the Horsemen's moronic actions. Moronic in that they have walked the earth for so long, but they could not sit down and have honest conversations with each other about their feelings and try and figure out what to do without being guided by unknown greater powers.

So, due to that I am not continuing with the series. The book was too bulky and that just covered the tip of the whole group's problems. And while for the ladies I understand they have not been together long enough to bond and speak as one, their areas of conflict were just tiresome.

This is a re-release of the first book of the Witches of Port Townsend series. What took me so long to read this? I truly gobbled up this tale of 4 independent, strong and stubborn sisters.

Separated at birth, the four identical sisters are brought together by a spell cast by Tierra. Each sister is drawn to Tierra’s home near the ocean in scenic, quaint Port Townsend, Washington. They all learn they are witches. They learn about each other. They teach each other. And then things start to get crazy because the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have interpreted the sisters coming together as the beginning of the end. And the sisters must be stopped.

Do I need to mention that Conquest, War, Pestilence and Death are all sexy as heck? It wasn’t difficult to figure out that each witch is drawn to a horseman. And the attraction will be mutual. Too bad someone has to die. Of course, as the reader, you know that these are the heroines and heroes and so there will just have to be an alternative solution. Who believes in fate anyway?

“And now I realize just how much power a mere woman can wield.” (Spoken by Julian, aka Pestilence.) This statement would have been better without the word ‘mere’ in it, but it is still one of my favorite lines. It is a harbinger of trouble for the horsemen.

Though four different authors contributed to this story, if flows seamlessly from one character’s story to the next. I enjoyed reading the story from each witch’s viewpoint, with the viewpoints of the witch’s corresponding horseman thrown in to enhance each chapter.

This is a wild tale that does not end with book 1. Now I want to read more. Not quite a cliffhanger, but a series you will need to read in order, The Witches of Port Townsend is sure to be quite entertaining!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book is a compilation by bestselling authors Kerrigan Byrne, Tiffinie Helmer, Cynthia St. Aubin and Cindy Stark. Each author tells the tale of one sister witch, separated from her family and reunited by magic. As quadruplets living apart, they each had their own magic. But an ancient prophecy foretold that should the sister reunite, their combined magic would bring about the end of the world. This book tells the tales of each sister witch’s reunion with her family as well as their struggle to survive against the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Moira, the water witch, survives her clash with Nick, Conquest. Claire, the fire witch, withstands her assault by and Dru, War. Aerin, the wind witch, recovers from her bout with Julian, Pestilence. And Tierra, the earth witch, endures her brush with Killian, Death. Four of the seven criteria of the prophecy are met. I look forward to continuing that tale in the next book. The 4 tales flow seamlessly together. They are full of sexy, strong women who find their powers and survive together.

I enjoyed this book, however I had a little trouble understanding the beginning of the book, it just sorta started abruptly and it felt like a few details were missing, but it worked itself out and became clear soon enough.

I was very intrigued by the fact that we have 4 sisters' stories in this book, it allowed me to see things from each character's perspective and since it was written well it didn't seem confusing.

I did get a-lot of charmed (tv series 1998) vibes, and since that was one of my favourite shows I enjoyed the similarities.

I liked the story and the characters and the way the book was written but since the book is basically divided into 4 parts I wasn't able to get a sense of each character completely. The heroes also didn't really endear themselves to me however they did intrigue me.

I gonna jump onto the next book in the series now and hopefully the story and the characters will sort themselves out.

I think my biggest issue with this book was the inconsistency in tone.

Sometimes it reads very much like a comedy but at other times it's dead serious and deals out really heavy emotions. This caused bad emotional whiplash and a kind of cognitive dissonance for me.

The entire plot is executed in a fundamentally silly way which undermines all the seriousness. As a consequence, I disliked reading the serious stuff because the surrounding goofy atmosphere invalidated it all somehow. I felt like the book disrespected the heavy feelings of its own cast and my own emotional investment with it.
I was so on board with the more serious tone that the realization of how much it would be subverted by the humor just made me lose the drive to continue.
That is not to say the humor is bad or anything. I actually enjoyed most of it a lot. It was cheeky and cute. I just couldn't handle both at the same time.

I think this is mostly a "me" problem.

What happens when identical quadruplets separated at birth to avoid the apocalypse are reunited? All hell breaks loose!
When I started Which Witch is Which, I was loving the focus on Moira - raised in the swamps of Louisiana, pet teacup pig (who breathes fire when peeved) who journeys west after a siren call wakes her up at night and pulls her ...somewhere. She winds up in Port Townsend... and shortly thereafter the story jumps to the perspective of another sister and I was like, WHAT? NO. NOT COOL BRO.
After setting the book down for a day and getting in the right headspace to jump around between four sisters, I dove back in and was luckily delighted by the results. So glad the authors dusted off this series to release the final book #4 this year, and am looking forward to finishing the series!

I only read Moira's story by Cynthia St Aubin and Claire's Story by Cindy Stark before giving up at 46%.

The writing was a bit flat, the characters didn't seem to have much depth to them and there's zero explanation about why the witches are going to cause the apocalypse and why the four horsemen of the apocalypse want to stop them. But what I really disliked was the 'relationships' that the witches had with the immortals. Nick was a bit weird in Moira's story but Claire and Dru's relationship was super super creepy, he kidnaps her, is planing on killing her (and she knows that) and yet they still lust after each other, it just made me feel icky.
