Mission: Initiate Operation: Romance…and prove that one night isn't enough!
Explosives expert and Navy SEAL Gabriel "Romeo" Thorne makes his living tempting fate. Pushing the limits. So far, he's never lost—especially when it comes to women. That is, until his best friend's wedding, where Gabriel is suddenly face-to-face—and deliciously body-to-body—with the one woman hot enough to detonate his self-control.
Tessa Monroe is used to being in control with men. Gabriel, on the other hand, is pretty much her sex kryptonite. Hard, gorgeous, dark-eyed kryptonite. Even as her defenses whisper "danger," lust demands she take her pleasure with him and then run. Now they're skirting the edge of an explosive attraction…where one wrong move could mean disaster.

Very good book. Gabriel and Tessa met briefly at a Halloween party and hadn't been able to forget each other. Six months later they saw each other again and the sparks flew. They are very much alike, both known as "love 'em and leave 'em" types.
I loved the encounters between Tessa and Gabriel. Tessa resists at first because Gabriel is one man who threatens the control she keeps on her emotions. But it doesn't take long for the attraction to overcome her caution. All she wants is a chance to have him and get him out of her system. Gabriel is usually the same way with women, but something about Tessa has him wanting to do things differently after hearing her echo some of his same attitudes.
It was interesting that Tessa is more of a use them and lose them person. She doesn't believe in love and romance, partly because of her mother's example (six marriages) and what she has seen. Gabriel is a man who prefers a little romance with his lust. I loved how he decided he would romance her rather than just sleep with her, building the tension between them. Tessa is really confused by his actions and doesn't know quite how to react. Because Gabriel is away over the next few weeks, they spend a lot of time talking. Some of it is just normal, share your day stuff, but some of it was pretty hot. During that same time period, both of them realized that what they had was moving beyond the physical and it was scaring them both.
Gabriel and Tessa have something else in common. Both of them are intensely loyal to their friends, and tend to take on the responsibility for others' happiness and welfare. Gabriel has something going on with a member of his team that he feels is his alone to deal with. It's creating stress and problems and when it gets out of hand, Gabriel feels that the consequences are his fault, and that it was his distraction with Tessa that had him handling things the wrong way. Meanwhile, Tessa has some things going on with her own job that she would normally share with her friend Livi. But Livi is pregnant and planning her wedding (a stress all on its own) and Tessa doesn't feel right unloading on her.
When Gabriel returns and sees Tessa again, the tension that's been building explodes between them. What happens next is so intense that it kind of freaks them both out. They avoid each other for a bit, but eventually are drawn back together. I liked seeing their moments of vulnerability and support for each other. But then Gabriel decides that everything that went on with his team means that he can't have both his career and Tessa so he pushes her away. That confrontation is emotional, as Gabriel says things that are at odds with how he really feels but what he thinks he has to do. I hurt for Tessa as she tries to deal with her heartbreak. A heart to heart with Livi shows Tessa that it's okay to lean on your friends, and gives her the courage to fight for what she wants. I loved the ending and seeing how both Tessa and Gabriel risk their hearts for a chance to have it all.
I liked seeing more of Mitch and Livi from A SEAL's Secret. Their example is one of the things that eventually showed Gabriel and Tessa what they could have.
Tawny Weber has a gift when it comes to writing about hot SEALs and the woman they fall for. A SEAL’s PLEASURE picks up where A SEAL’s Secret ends and boy does Weber not disappoint. I loved the banter and the amazing journey Weber takes them on to finding their happily ever after together.
Gabriel “Romeo” Thorne lives up to his name, but is known for never losing or backing down from a challenge. Tessa Monroe is his new challenge. She’s smart, strong, funny, sexy, and absolutely determined not to commit to anyone. As the story progresses I found myself not being able to put it down.
When Romeo and Tessa meet you can see the sparks start flying and boy they did not disappoint. You can see right away that these two are met for each other. They are almost exactly alike and yet they can generate a lot of tension that will set your kindle on fire. Romeo really needed a strong woman like Tessa to make him see that in fact he can have it all. Both characters were well written and complimented each other perfectly.
“All he’d done was introduce himself and shake her hand on Halloween. His touch had sent a zing of desire through her, more potent than anything she’d ever felt in her life. With just that touch, she’d known he could take over her world. That he could bring her the most incredible pleasure, the wildest joy. And the deepest pain.”
I adored how they both plan their seduction to one another it was hilarious how they both try to get the upper hand. Tawny can write sexy without the character actually having sex. I liked that the book wasn’t really all about them as a couple, but had more going on. A couple of twists that only makes this couple stronger as this start to happen in their lives.
One of my favorite parts in the book is when Romeo is overseas and speaking to Tessa on the phone when someone knocks on her door. She thinks its Romeo, but when she opens the door no one is there, but she finds a bouquet of flowers from him. It was super sweet moment. I also loved how Romeo realized he was in trouble because it was the first time he has ever called someone when he was half way around the world.
I really loved the continuity of this book, because I loved everyone in A SEAL’s Secret. This book could be read as a standalone but I would suggest reading the previous book to see how they meet. It was great to see the previous characters while getting to know Tessa and Romeo much better. It was a fantastic read. I can’t wait for the next installment!

A SEAL’S PLEASURE (Uniformly Hot!) by Tawny Weber/Harlequin/April 21
If you read A SEAL's Secret you have to red A SEAL's Pleasure. This book is part of Tawny Weber's awesome, Uniformly Hot! series. It picks up where A SEAL's Secret left off, with Livy and Mitch getting ready to walk down the aisle.
This story focuses on Romeo and Tessa, Mitch and Livy's bffs respectively. Romeo, or rather Gabriel, and Tessa are two peas in a pod when it comes to their sexuality and their views on marriage and relationships. I actually love Gabriel's nickname. It suits him.
As they both plan their seduction of the other, we find that Tawny can write sexy without the character having sex. Romeo and Tessa don't really get it together until about halfway through the book, but there's a lot more going on that will leave most readers wanting a cold shower. Those scenes have more impact than the actual sex scenes. They are smoking hot! Romeo teaches Tessa that sometimes it's better to wait than go in for the action right away.
There's more going on than just their hot relationship. One of Tessa's partners at her magazine is keeping secrets and for Romeo there's a SEAL teammate that isn't really a team player.
I really loved the continuity of this book, because I loved everyone in A SEAL's Secret. It was great to see them again while getting to know Tessa and Romeo better.
A fabulous read. I can't wait for the next installment.
I have an intense adoration for the Uniformly Hot SEALs books from Tawny Weber. Like complete, total adoration. I literally make grabby hands when it comes to these books, and with good reason. Every one has amazing characters that have a way about them that sets them apart from the typical romance novel character. A SEAL's Pleasure was definitely on board with this.
Gabriel and Tessa have this chemistry almost immediately. Even though she thinks she can give in to temporary temptation, he has other plans. He wants to romance her first. It leads them into new territory, uncharted and full of danger. Before they even realize it, feelings are coming into play, and as scary as it is, it's amazing.
A SEAL's Pleasure is a hot cup of romance, full of sweet and sexy moments. Gabriel and Tessa are perfect together, and you can feel it. There's so much more to them, the way they read each other and understand each other. It's simply amazing. Definitely a must read!
I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. Here it is:
There are so many books featuring Navy SEALS, and why not? They're strong, proud, brave, dedicated, heroic, and let's face it--they're hot.
I've read many romance novels about Navy SEALs, and some authors get it right, while others get it wrong.
Tawny Weber gets it very right in this one--I read it in one sitting, and it had the perfect balance of romance, sexiness, humor and strength. The two main characters Tessa and Gabriel are both strong, determined, career-minded individuals who are seriously attracted to one another--and neither of them are willing to let down their guard, both scoffing at romantic attachments. When they find themselves as best man and maid-of-honor at another SEAL wedding, the sparks ignite.
Kudos to the author, I certainly hope to read further novels featuring the incidental characters in this one.
Another Sexy Seal! Another sexy seal book by Tawny Weber. This book is part of the Uniformly Hot series, and can be read as a standalone, but once you read one book you will want to read them all. Gabriel “Romeo” is a Navy Seal who specializes in explosives. He is at his best friend’s wedding when he meets Tessa. Tessa is used to being in control with men that is until she meets Gabriel. They both like to be in control of a relationship and make to commitments. I love how they both learn to love and trust each other. I love how the author keeps bringing the characters from the past books into the current books because the readers have grown to love them all. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
I was just expecting so much more from Romeo. Don't get me wrong he was seriously HAWT, and when he got together with Tessa it about lit the room on fire. Still a great addition to the serious. I'm guessing Scavenger will be next.
Loaded with heat, humor and heart, this story is a must read. Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:
Confident and competitive, Chief Petty Officer Gabriel Thorne, explosives expert and Navy SEAL, never seems to lose a bet, whether it concerns the pool table, the shooting range or the ladies. In fact, his luck with the ladies has left him with the call name Romeo. Following the rules his grandfather taught him, Gabriel managed to survive leaving the reservation and living on the streets after the old man’s death. Finally, he left the slums, joined the Navy and became a SEAL. Those rules defined him. But team member Jackrabbit, who lost to Gabriel, is not so enthused. He believes that Gabriel’s luck will run out one day and he doesn’t want to be on a mission with him when it happens.
Tessa Monroe is used to being admired to the point that she barely notices it anymore. Her best friend, Olivia Kane, is marrying Gabriel’s commander. At a party for the couple, Tessa meets Gabriel. The highest thing on Tessa’s off limits test is military men, especially those devoted enough to the service that they become SEALs. Adding to Tessa’s prejudice against marriage is the fact that her own mother had married six times. Tessa knows that her friend is making a mistake, but she cannot do anything about it. So, acting completely out of character, she ignores her instincts, puts aside her personal prejudices and for the first time fakes delight over Olivia’s impending marriage to a military man and a SEAL at that. Seeing her friend’s glow of happiness and aware of Olivia’s pregnancy, Tessa drops the subject and looks for a distraction. Seeing Gabriel, Tessa nearly runs. He causes emotions to run through her that she refuses to identify. The intensity of those feelings have not lessened in the six months since she first met him.
The men are his team and Gabriel never lets them down. That evening at the party, Gabriel receives many intriguing offers, but there is only one woman who interests him – Tessa, the only one who has ever turned him down. Neither Gabriel nor Tessa are interested in a serious relationship, but they cannot deny the chemistry that exists between them. However, while Tessa is willing to give into her desire for him temporarily, he is set on romancing her. Discovering that Tessa is Olivia’s maid of honor while he is the best man gives Gabriel the opportunity he is looking for. As he puts his plans into action, the desire between them turns into something more as their hearts become involved. Will they be following Olivia and her fiancé down the aisle, or will they walk away from each other?
A sexy tale, A SEAL’S PLEASURE, the latest book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tawny Weber’s SEXY SEALS series, is a witty, sensual, contemporary romance that will have readers avidly turning the pages. Gabriel and Tessa are perfectly matched and the sparks fly whenever they are near each other. Getting the chance to revisit the characters from the previous books in this series provides additional enjoyment.
The buildup to the sex scenes is just as explosively hot as the actual scenes themselves. Each time I read one of Ms. Weber’s books, I believe that this one cannot possibly be surpassed, but she continuously manages to surprise me. Although I fell in love with all of the stories in this series, this one may be the best yet. If you are looking for a great story with plenty of heat, humor and heart, pick up a copy of A SEAL’S PLEASURE. I am sure you will love it as much as I did!
“A SEAL’s Pleasure” by Tawny Weber is another story in the ‘Uniformly Hot’ series and focuses on SEAL Chief Petty Office Gabriel Thorne, whose nickname is Romeo. Tessa Monroe is one of the founders of a popular and successful magazine called ‘Flirtatious’ and thinks she understands pretty much everything about sex appeal and, like Romeo, is used to being in control of interactions with the opposite sex. They each like to win, and neither wants or needs a permanent relationship, so does that mean they are perfect for one another, or the worse match-up ever?
This deliciously spicy contemporary military romance is inter-connected to “A SEAL’s Secret” and features many of the same characters from a slightly different perspective. It is a delightful exploration of the complicated interaction between two people who are used to being accepted at face value and frightened of deeper commitment, given what they have experienced in the past. I enjoyed the sparring and the dance of attraction that plays out between the hero and heroine who find a surprising amount of similarity in both their cockiness and their vulnerability. There are military conflicts and repercussions that are a little too quickly glossed over for my tastes, as I like to understand the issues involved and it was frustrating to have a particular secondary character so shallow and immature, despite having advanced to such an elite fighting force. Tessa’s friend Livi was also a bit frustrating since it seemed that she had finally developed a little backbone in the prior story but apparently lost some of it for a good part of this one. The heat between the main characters is incandescent and their chemistry is wonderful and I definitely hope to read more about them in the future, even as I hope that some of the intriguing secondary characters get their own turn in the spotlight. A great addition to the series.

SEAL's Pleasure is book number eight in the Uniformly Hot SEALS series. Ugh! I have not been reading this series in order. I read A SEAL's Touch (book 10) first and really enjoyed it. Then I tried this one next because I already had it. But eh, this was probably a mistake. Because this book took place around another SEAL couple's wedding, of which the hero, Gabriel is the Best Man and the heroine, Tessa is the Maid of Honor. I went and did my research and the couple getting married is featured in A SEAL's Secret (book 7).
Gabriel is Mr. Hottie. As a SEAL, he always wins in everything he sets out to do. His MO is to be with the ladies and leave them satisfied, but not with attachments. "Love them and set them free" is his motto. But then he runs into Tessa and for the first time he is interested in romantic entanglements. Surprise, surprise, Tessa knows right away upon meeting Gabriel that he spells trouble. She has no room in her life for romantic relationships and she figures her best approach would be a wham, bam, get him out of my system approach. Needless to say, these two have some issue to work out!!
Let me say I really like Tawny Weber's writing style. She has fast moving storylines with relatable characters. She can easily draw you into a story. While I enjoyed this story, there were a few things that bugged me. Mostly, I really felt that there was a lot more to this story that could have been expanded upon. I was very interested in some of the external struggles that were happening with Gabriel and his teammates and also with Tessa and her company. These definitely could have been explored more in the storyline. Instead it felt like the story centered over Gabriel and Tessa's relationship reluctance a little too much. Also, it seemed as though the couple wasn't together a lot of the book.
I enjoy Ms. Weber's writing and need to start at the beginning of this series!
First of all I want to send Ms Tawny Weber, NetGalley and Harlequin a big thank you for providing us with a copy of this book so that we could bring you this review.
Well those of you who have been following this blog for a while now know that I am a HUGE fan of Tawny Weber and her SEALs… and well after reading A SEAL’s Secret I knew I couldn’t wait to see what would happen with Gabriel “Romeo” and Tessa. And Oh boy does she not disappoint with the heat these two can create.
The sexual tension was enough to set my kindle on fire. Whew and talk about the fact that these two are almost exactly alike they can generate a lot of tension. I loved that Gabriel was able to see that he couldn’t treat Tessa the same way that he did any other woman, because she is who much like him, he knows that he needs to approach her in a different way. The fact that he is sexy as all get out doesn’t hurt him in anyway… The one thing about him though that kills me is that he takes so much responsibility on himself when there were things that were beyond his control.
Tessa is so much fun, but at the same time like Gabriel takes too much on herself. She does learn a very valuable lesson in the book though… and that is that she is not alone in the world and its ok to depend on others. Though it was sad to see that she was so self conscious and doubted herself so much in her ability as a writer.
It is easy to see in the way that Tawny has progressed with this series why she is a NY Times best selling author. I look forward to the next book that she has to share with us in this SEAL series.
Tawny Weber has done it again! If you want a smoking hot guy and sassy sweetheart of a gal, then this is the book for you! Gabriel Thorne - aka Romeo - has a thorn in his side in sassy, feisty little Tessa Monroe. He can't get her out of his head and he's determined to get her out of his system. What better time to do that than at his best friend's wedding where Tessa is the maid of honor? If only he didn't have that pesky little job situation going on. For Tessa Monroe, military guys are strictly off limits, but she can't shake the vibe that she'll be missing something pretty special if she doesn't give Gabriel "Romeo" Thorne a chance to rock her world. He's everything Tessa despises - cocky, hot, arrogant, hot, a military man, hot, a man who's only out for one thing - but at the same time he's really, really hot! So, shouldn't he be right up her alley? He's temporary and there's no better time to take Romeo for a test spin that at her best friend's wedding where Romeo is the best man. Right? So, what do you get when you have an wedding on an island, a smoking hot best man, a sassy sinful maid of honor, a mother/soon to be mother-in-law from hades, a nervous bride and an honorable groom? One fantastic read that definitely won't bore you!!
This story is about Navy SEAL Gabriel Thorne (call sign Romeo) and Tessa Monroe. He is going to be best man at Livi's and Mitch's wedding, and she is going to be maid-of-honor. They were first introduced in A SEAL's Secret, so they are not strangers to each other. Tessa is part owner of a magazine called Flirtatious, and she writes stories about the sexual games men and women play. Neither one of them believes in love, but it is lust at first sight. Tessa is determined to seduce Gabriel without romance and walk away. Gabriel is equally determined that he will be the one to romance and seduce her, and be the one to walk away when he is ready to let her go. This story deals with their determination to out maneuver the other one. Will these two cynical people find out too late that it doesn't matter who comes out on top, but how much you love?
There is a lot of suspense and surprises along the way as these two play their games and deal with other issues as well. You will love this book, and won't be sorry if you buy it!
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Navy SEAL Gabriel "Romeo" Thorne and Tessa Monroe are both “love them and leave them types” and they want one night with each other and walk away.
I'm a huge fan of Tawny Weber's "Sexy SEAL Series" but I just didn't care for this one. I couldn't connect with the the two characters, in my opinion that spark that has been in the previous 'Sexy SEAL Series" was missing. The hook-up was PG (so not Mrs.Weber style) and the relationship just wasn't believable. When the book ended I felt like I was left hanging and very disappointed.
The previous SEAL team of this series was so exciting and I couldn't put the books down. I lost a lot of sleep reading the first 6 books. But book #7 with Mitch and this book #8 with Gabriel just doesn't have the same passion and "WOW" factor.
I hope the next book will step-up and bring back what I love about this series.
Woohoo this one is so hot steamy and very romantically sensual when two very strong people Gabriel awesome SEAL known as Romeo and Tessa writer of all things sexual and sensual first meet at Halloween Tessa decides to steer clear of Romeo he sends way too many sparks through her body but then when they are best man and bridesmaid for Livi and Irish they are going to have to spend time together and Romeo has the best plan that in the end will send both of their bodies through the roof with sparks. This is one of the most sensual stories I have ever read you will need a fan but enjoy you will you will not want to put this one down and I highly recommend this one to all who love a great romance :)
The story has laughs, steam, a bet, secrets, and heartbreak.
This is Tessa and Gabriel’s story. Tessa knows Gabriel is bad for her. Gabriel is determined to have Tessa. But he will take her at his pace. When one of his teammates bets him he can’t get her he takes the bet. After dancing around each other they finally come together. Both have feeling involved. After a mishap that affects his job Gabriel thinks he needs to let Tessa go. Can he let her go? Will she ever find out about the bet? Does Tessa let him go? Or will she fight for him no matter what?
I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
I love Tawny's SEAL books because they are such great, pleasureable stories. However, this story about Mitch and Tessa goes above and beyond. Most romance reads follow the, one half of the couple fights falling in love tooth and nail and the other half has to fight an uphill battle to get them to admit it and do something about it, story line. The things I most enjoyed about this book was that both Mitch and Tessa talked a really good game but, when it came right down to it, they both had serious issues that they recognized in each other but, not in themselves. That really made this a truly satisfying read! LOVED IT!
Tessa is used to using me for want she wants and than walks away...Romeo is a SEAL who loves women and has them falling at his feet..They met at a Halloween party and Tessa took an instant dislike to Romeo but when they are put together to help plan Livi and Mitch's wedding each lower their guards and become closer and closer. Will they let their feelings for each other stand in the way and turn away from each other or will they quit fighting and let love happen? It was a really good story!
I received this book from winning a contest. I absolutely,Love this book! It was a quick read, but so worth it. What a hot, explosive attraction between Tessa and Gabriel aka Romeo. I was left wanting more. I wholeheartedly, recommend picking up this short story. Thank You Miss Tawny.
So much fun. So much challenge. Good friends. Great lovers! I learned a lot about watching people and interpreting emotions, unspoken words, ideas, even needs through this story. Loved it from start to finish.
Opposites attract? In Tawny Weber's A SEAL's Pleasure she totally disproves that. Two individuals who had flirting to a science, who learned to use sex as a protective wall. Who refused to believe in happily ever after...
In the latest book in her Uniformly Hot Series, Tawny takes us back to San Diego and Tessa and Romeo (we met them in a rather charged moment in A SEAL's Secret) and from the moment they met they were the most interesting couple in the book (and it wasn't even theirs)
Tessa is a true and loyal friend, feisty and ferocious and has managed to turn the art of flirting into a very lucrative writing career. Because of this talent she has managed to stay beside her best friend through all of her business travels and fitness videos and still remain a full partner in an eMagazine. But life recently has had too many changes, Livi (said best friend) is getting married, something is up with her business AND Tessa is only interested in one man. How can that be? Too much change..
Gabriel "Romeo" Thorne likes to win, always.. with the ladies, on the job, in a stupid pool game.. it doesn't matter he wins. But one sexy dynamo is throwing him off his game. At least he seems to be making strides with her but jealousy at work (as a Seal) might just ruin his entire career.
Ok, this was fun and sexy.. some of the best "sex" scenes involved talking.. that's right no sex just talking about sex. Ms. Weber's desire for her character to be wooed was brilliant. It created an intimacy that might not have been there otherwise..
What I didn't like.. the implied hard childhoods and the issues at work (for both of them). This might have worked had Ms. Weber invested some time into their backgrounds but that isn't what this book was about. It was about their relationship and how they forged it. All of the other stuff was just noise and unnecessary and kind of distracting because I kept expecting one of their pasts to jump out and shout "surprise".. and their work issues.. yeah resolved to painlessly. Too much build up for a sizzle.
I liked Tessa and Romeo.. I really liked them! They didn't need all that other crap, nope they were great just the way they are!

This review is based on the ARC of A SEAL's Promise, provided by netgalley and is scheduled to be released on April 21, 2015
This is one seal that everytime I have come across him he has intrigued me. Now his time has come for me to experience his story up close and personal. Being his friends's best man also puts him together with the one that has occupied his thoughts for a while now. Little did he know that she will also have the key to his heart but turning it will be a little more of adventure Gabe is not used too. Romeo is not used to having to work so much at getting what he wants and what he wants thanks to his heart is Liv's best friend and her part in the wedding will also put them working together. Tessa has issues but she also cannot deny she also wants Gabe. But the happy ever after with a Seal is not on her agenda even though her best friend is taking that road. Being with a Seal also just takes love and a commitment because having them any other way would have them not being the man they truly are. He also though is facing issues with a team mate who has it out for him and things will turn serious where he will have some decisions in that direction. This author has the ability to take a Seal bring one to life and you are panting after him as he builds that special relationship with the one that will capture his heart. As always it is a adventure of the heart with these two being no exception. Being familiar with the two characters made for even more reading pleasure when now it is their time to shine. She is one girl with spunk and thinks she can just work it out of her system with him being one that will work his way to her heart. Also though in the area of her work things are brewing and will come to a head with her and her partners having to make some decisions that will mean big changes. When it is all said and done she will come to fully understand why her friend went the road she did and how she come to love a Seal with the rewards being bigger than life. Received a copy for a honest review.
A SEALs Pleasure by Tawny Weber will take your breath away. This decadently sinful delight is another H-O-T book that turns up the heat just like all the previous SEALs books. Absolutely every book I’ve read by Tawny has been perfection and this book is no exception. A little bit of games, romance, secret missions and friendships challenged, you will be absolutely pleased.
Tessa Monroe makes a living giving advice about relationships and how to add that “special something” that’s been missing.
Gabriel found purpose, family and a home from SEAL team he’s on. Is there room for a woman? Will Tessa finally be that one?
I LOVE how each SEAL book from Tawny always brings back her previous characters that we fell in love with. Each book can be read as a stand alone but when you’ve read all the SEALs books like I have, it makes it that much sweeter to have familiar faces throughout the story. I don’t know how she brings us this fabulous sexy and action filled feast in roughly 200 pages. This is one writer that is sure to be around for a long time. I can’t wait to find out which SEAL is next, hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.
There is just enough sizzle to make you tingle. For mature audience, 18 +
I received this ARC from Tasty Book Tours for a fair and honest review.
When two master players on the field of pleasure and flirt, who always win, comes together, the sparks are about to fly! Gabriel and Tessa surely have combustible connection. They are so hot and sensual, the steam is smoldering. What I enjoyed immensely, was the wait Gabriel put into their sexual relationship, wanting their connection to be different from all the others before. They get to know each other, they even have begun sort of friends, they comfort each other and give each other support. Yes, they run for cover behind the flirting and dirty talk, constant banter between them, just to avoid the intense feelings they are having. But the feelings are there, getting deeper, and there's no escape from it. Both having problems with their careers, someone else is messing behind their backs, making choices that affect people around them, and possibly could change both their careers. This common core brings Gabriel and Tessa even closer together, as they offer advice and support. The story is full of wedding stress, career moves, friends, loyalty, trust, heated sensual moments, and yes, love. Very entertaining story, that made me smile ~ Four Spoons
Gabriel "Romeo" Thorne is used to getting what and whoever he wants. But when sexy Tessa Monroe crossed his path he can't get her out of his mind and he vows to have her. When his commanding officer, Irish and Tessa's best friend Livi request them to help get the wedding ready, he has the perfect opportunity.
Tessa know how to work it. She knows she's sexy and she flaunts it. But she knows there's no such thing as forever or happily ever after. With her best friend, Livi, engages and marrying a Navy Seal, she has to show her support. With Romeo there though the distraction is almost to much to bare. So she decides to play his game. Love him and leave him before she can get hurt. The man is everything she could want and she is scared. As they come closer to the wedding of their best friends, their combustible chemistry can't be ignored. Can his plan of romancing her win her over? Will this Seals Pleasure be enough or can they break the barriers of their unbelief in true love together and take the leap?
I have every one of Tawny Weber's books. Never a disappointment. And A SEALs Pleasure was a real pleasure. The sharp, spicy banter was a delight. The characters were well developed, grew as the book progressed and learned a lot about each other. It was fun watching the light bulb over their heads get brighter and brighter.
In each of her SEAL books we see the loyalty, and strength as a testament to our fighting teams. It's fun to peek in at the friends from previous books and watch their lives.
Both Gabriel and Tessa had major life changes to consider, in addition to facing up to their previous view of love. It was okay, but concern for their friends, kept them from considering it a possibility for each other. Surprise! They both enjoy, really enjoy good sex. And yes, they both get steamy but sex has always stayed in its own box. Neither were prepared for their feelings.
Will their jobs interfere? As Gabriel worried it would for his friend and C O. Will they let their walls crumble to allow love to enter?
This is a strong recommend and one more winner from Tawny Weber.
The sexual tension was enough to set my kindle on fire. Whew and talk about the fact that these two are almost exactly alike they can generate a lot of tension. I loved that Gabriel was able to see that he couldn't treat Tessa the same way that he did any other woman, because she is who much like him, he knows that he needs to approach her in a different way. The fact that he is sexy as all get out doesn't hurt him in anyway... The one thing about him though that kills me is that he takes so much responsibility on himself when there were things that were beyond his control.
Tessa is so much fun, but at the same time like Gabriel takes too much on herself. She does learn a very valuable lesson in the book though... and that is that she is not alone in the world and its ok to depend on others. Though it was sad to see that she was so self conscious and doubted herself so much in her ability as a writer.
Received a free copy for an honest review. Another Navy SEAL book, the latest one from Tawny Weber and she doesn't disappoint her fans! To those new readers, each of the SEAL's books is based on one SEAL's mission to capture the woman of his interest. This time, it's Gabriel, aka Romeo, who was introduced in the previous book, A SEAL's Secret. His mission, which he called Operation Romance, is to claim Tessa as his own while Tessa's mission to Gabriel is to seduce him for her article as an sex expert for the single scene. How did they end up together, as in the same place? Their friends' wedding; Gabriel is Mitch's best man and Tessa is the maid of honor. Throughout this book, there's a mixture of surprises, humor, some suspense, some "oh no (s)he didn't!", some "I don't like where this is going", probably "why?", and some "awws" but definitely will leave you satisfied of the ending which I won't tell! Happy reading!
