Awesome adventures inspired by the best-selling Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire video games!
All your favorite Pokémon game characters jump out of the screen into the pages of this action-packed manga!
Gold and Crystal are back! Professor Oak sends the two friends to help rescue Red, Yellow, Blue and Green—who have all been turned to stone ! But first, the pair must fight a fearsome opponent that Archie, the former leader of Team Aqua, wished into existence using the powers of the Wish Pokémon Jirachi! If only our heroes had the power of the ultimate moves… Then, will Emerald ever acknowledge his love of Pokémon…?
Guile finally Ah, well. We got an epic fight out of it, I suppose.
Add on: The name of the photographer is never ever stated in the entire arc. I have a feeling he'll be back later and hopefully he'll get a name then. (Will it be Tracy, Perhaps?) I just thought it was weird since he was a pretty involved supporting character.
i thought it would be fitting to read this after World of Wars (Wells) lol
Very fun, action-packed, and tear-provoking as always. I don't know why, but the endings always make me soggy. :(((
Sum themes: You can't win against nature. Humans are living IN the world, not DOMINATING the world. Guile tries to defy time with his armor that supposedly slows it down to eternity. But the armor...doesn't last forever. It's a material susceptible to natural decay in nature (as well as a group of angry teenagers with pokemon hacking at it); so it breaks and he fades away.
Maybe it's the translation, but some of Gold's pep talk monologue was rlly cringey to read. Anyways main theme of his splurge was: Don't wait for stuff to happen, resolve to make it happen yourself.
Additional theme: Emerald's eyebrows are insane. Can't say I'm not jealous.
Not a bad arc but it does start of weak as Emerald is not a great character in my opinion the gimmick of him using gadgets is not a bad idea but his attitude toward pokemon is a little annoying and his constant movement and attitude is also just annoying. And I feel sorry for the Frontier Brains as they just drop out of the story around the climax and it can be quickly forgotten that this does take place at the Battle Frontier. I wish the Battle Frontier characters played a bigger role and at first I thought they were as their is an attempt to make them more villainous but it is just a red herring and it is a shame. Also it is kind of weird that this and the Jirachi movie both feature them summoning a giant evil version of one of the Hoenn Legendaries and I do feel the manga handled the idea better as they explain why that pokemon was chosen but still a weird choice.
A great climax for the whole saga. I love seeing all the cast reunited once again. If the manga wouldn't continue, I wouldn't mind this type of ending a bit. Even when the plot is far from perfect, you can feel the improvement of every character in this series, which adds a lot comparing to any other Pokemon Manga Series (and Anime) out there. In that sense, I will give it a 5/5. Pokemon Adventures is the best adaptation of the franchise and a must if you are really into the games.
Well it took a while to finally like the protagonist of this arc but the story finally made him likeable. Or the other Dex holders stole enough attention to make him seem more likeable.
Either way, this volume was enjoyable and a great ending to the Gen 3 Adventures.
Wow. This volume really changed how I view Emerald -- it included his backstory. It also had foreshadowing from previous volumes, such as the end of Chapter Three. Possibly my new favourite in the series, next to the end of GSC.
Alright Emerald is still an annoying character but it was nice to see how the Pokedex holders managed to save the day and the rest of the protagonists.
The big tournament at the end should've been portrayed in my opinion. I think there was a lot at the end that felt a bit rushed.
"i don't have a favorite child" readers (me) when ruby and sapph show up i should have read the first 2 gens before this but i wanted my hoenn content the battle frontier was fun archie and maxie doomed yaoi funny
Fun little installment to the series. Enjoyable and sometimes makes me wish the anime was similar to this instead. Then I remember Jessie and James. haha
Finally seeing all the Hoen region trainers together just felt so RIGHT! it was a perfect end to a generation, and I can’t wait to start diamond and pearl!

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the others, though I have to admit this one is probably my least favourite arc of them all. I loved see all the old characters and the new characters were all good too. My favourite character of this arc was definitely the photographer, I absolutely adored him, he was a great addition to them, and made this arc more enjoyable. I liked seeing all the pokedex holders in one place, it kind of felt like the big ending of a really good battle. Everything had been well planned out from the start, and every interaction was fun. Also Scott was a really interesting character, I find it really amusing what he did in the end. I can't wait to read more of these adventures.
This volume wraps up the emerald arch and I am glad it's done. In the end Emerald was ok but let's be honest, the other Pokedex holders are what made it awesome. This was good and but it is the weakest arch in my opinion.
SPOILERS!!!! Can I just say that Silvers Feraligator may be the most amazing Pokemon for learning hydro cannon in like an hour while just watching Ruby's Swampert doing it?
4.3/5. I liked Emerald a whole lot more in this volume than in the previous one's. I enjoy a good reunion of characters we love but that haven't met yet so when Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald got together to confront Guile Hideout, I was delighted. Finally, I enjoyed the cameo by characters we have seen in the past in the epilogue and the little hints of what's to come next and what role Team Galactic had to play in this chapter.
A jam packed volume that manages to satisfyingly tie-up a number of loose plot threads from previous runs in while never losing focus from Emerald's own story.
