Elin The Complete Journey: A Swedish Emigrant's Story

Rate this book
From the author of the bestselling Swedish Migration history in the Tales of Memory series — now a sweeping historical novel.

She left Sweden with nothing but a name and a future she hadn't chosen.

Born into hunger and hardship in rural Dalsland, Elin boards a steamship at seventeen to meet a fiancé she barely knows — crossing an ocean to a life no one, least of all Elin herself, could have imagined.

What follows is the story of one woman's quiet revolution. From the forests of Sweden to the smoke-streaked streets of 1870s Chicago, The Complete Journey traces her path from survival to selfhood — through loss, love, labor, and the slow, fierce business of building something that lasts.

"Characters live on the page and the story is so real, both beautiful and sad." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"This emotional and enticing book is a work of poetical art. Many descriptions that touch the soul or warm the heart."⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"The writing settled my soul and warmed my heart. This story is a blessing." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
