When yuppies take over The Coffee Shop, Rigby and Mordecai get priced out of their main hangout spot…and they soon discover that there’s more to this hive-mind trend than meets the eye. Time for a dark roast, single origin, cold-brewed caffeine battle! Can Margaret and Eileen resist the siren song of 10-dollar lattes, or will the guys’ caffeine source be shut off forever? Acclaimed cartoonist KC Green returns to pair up with the amazing Allison Strejlau for another collection of hijinks based on the Cartoon Network animated comedy. Also featuring stand-alone stories by Andy Hirsch (The Royal Historian of Oz), Rachel Connor (Regular Show: Hydration), and Regular Show storyboard artist, writer, and voice of Eileen, Minty Lewis. Collects issues #13-16.
This was a fun quick read- i enjoyed the dialogue but the art style for some of the panels and stories was weird and not that detailed. I loved the colour and panels of the ghosties story and my favourite was the first one.
Overall, a quick read to add to my end of year reading challenge!
2.5 I like there's more Eileen and Margaret, but the art is meh like a good middle schooler did it. I just don't get what the point of having artists who sloppily do an imitation adds to the series when they also don't have a big unique spin. The worst of both worlds.
At least some scenes with the coffee machine have a nice evening pink tone. Then it randomly gets psychedelic in the minisode of Pops' garage sale, which is cool but clashing, not a good execution. Like a mock up draft with wishy washy outlines.
Rigby and Mordo yelling like the Scream is pretty funny. I like when they dress up like yuppies ("Rigabeth" in business drag). Poor Fives, used as a slingshot. Cute bugs but weird choice.
