Get to know all the ghoulfriends at Monster High in this freaky-fab insider's book!
Diehard fans of Monster High, will have a frightfully good time with this journal “written” by all the most popular ghouls at school who reveal their likes, dislikes, crushes, nightmares, and more---and who also dig up more than a few skeletons buried in the closet!
This book isn't anything deep, but I love it anyway. The author did an absolutely wonderful job capturing every character's personalities and voices, and it's a perfect successor to the little diaries that used to come with the dolls. There's so many cute little fold-out elements (like concert tickets and test score sheets) and cute moments of character interaction, and I love how it's written like a notebook that all the characters are sharing. There's even multiple references to Monster High canon that show the author did their research. It was an absolute delight to read as a Monster High fan, and it goes way beyond what you'd expect from what could have been a quick cash-grab licensed book. Definitely recommended to anyone who likes MH in any capacity!
Awesome Frankie has a big dream for the future this is what she said the future is so big and wide-open for a monster like me... I guess I just hope I can keep learning new stuff and meeting new friends! I feel so creeptasticallly lucky to have the unlife that I have. I just want to keep enjoying it and take things as they come

Anyone else love books where you can unfold notes or flip a picture over and read the writing on the back? Interactive books like this automatically get some love because it's so rare and still so awesome.
That said, the book earns all four stars based on the trivia and knowledge crammed in the best way into the book.
It's written by the six main ghouls (Frankie, Ghoulia, Cleo, Draculaura, Lagoona, and Clawdeen) with frequent visits from Toralei and other guest stars. It's a bit like a slam book only with happy entries. Everyone has the proper voice, there are plenty of the monstery puns the franchise is known for, and everyone is given a moment to shine.
The book is written as if the ghouls were answering personal questions such as what is their favorite music or what do they like to do on a night out. The book is hardback, 96 pages long.
I do have a problem with this book, though. Many of the entries are written on a colored background that makes it very difficult to read what is written. For example backgrounds that are dark purple, dark red and dark blue make the printing hard to make out. It's also basically just too colorful when there are four or five different colored backgrounds on the same page. The actual content is good but I've never had such a problem with the backgrounds and the printing before.
