Templars in America #4

The Oath of Nimrod: Giants, MK-Ultra and the Smithsonian Coverup

Rate this book
A mysterious race of North American giants. An ancient Hebrew inscription in a Cherokee burial mound. A blood oath made by blindfolded Freemasons. Are these three historical oddities the reason the CIA is trying to brainwash historian Cameron Thorne and his fiancée Amanda Spencer-Gunn? The answer lies buried in the legends of the Knights Templar, within the rituals of the secretive Freemasons and, most significantly of all, inside the bowels of the Smithsonian Institution. The problem for Cam and Amanda? If they go rummaging around the Smithsonian, they may find themselves buried alongside the ancient giants. Based on actual historical artifacts, and illustrated. Publishers Weekly says of the author, "BRODY DOES A TERRIFIC JOB OF WRAPPING HIS RESEARCH IN A FAST-PACED THRILL RIDE." This is a stand-alone novel with recurring characters. These books can be read in any order.

Interesting story

I am a collector ofnconspiracybtheories because I fond them mostly ludicrous...but also because I believe that,, just as the devil put a little truth into his.lie to Eve in the Garden & later, quoted Scripture to its author, out of context during His temptation after a 40 day fast in the wilderness after His baptism & before His public ministry, there is a grain of truth in most lies & in all legends. I find it an interesting mental exercise to see how much I can find that is true the false, then compare it to the vast majority of things no one can fully substantiate.
This author has taken something many consider sensationalized tales of pre-Columbus (pre-Columbian) European &/or Middle Eastern exploration in the Western Hemisphere & puts it into the form of a novel. During this story, he asks us to consider other impinging conspiracy theories: Freemasonry, the CIA & MK-Ultra & whether or not the program was truly shut down in 1973 or is still extant but quietly buried from prying Congressional & other eyes, whether or not the historic &/or current view of Castro's regime is true, & other, less well known theories, as well as pointing out that post 9/11, our liberties were severely curtailed by the so-called P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act (yes, it's an acronym, & yes, it's supposed to be reviewed periodically & has to be voted on by the full Congress to stay as a law, & yes, it has been vited in every time, sometimes with further curtailment of Constitutionally guaranteed rights (try the Campaign for Liberty website for more details on this & the petitions, letter writing, fax, email, & phone calling campaigns in which members have engaged to attempt to get Congress to let it lapse...if it's still there...).
Enjoy the book for what it truly is: an attempt to make you THINK. To look at the evidence & the counter-arguments for yourself. To ask questions...but not stay idle. Be active in researching candidates from multiple points of view, vote your conscience guided by your intelligence, talk to & learn from those others like you who refuse to be seduced by banal or soft porn prime time TV shows. Turn off the TV & the streaming & read...think...for yourself.
If you do that, you will follow what I believe is the true intention of the author...use your brain.

Irony has 2 sides

This work of fiction has some great fantasy segments that will entertain the reader. The reader is asked to ingest all of the information provided meticulously in this work.
The fantasies portrayed in this book, come in some small ways up to large ways. We are asked to connect all of these disparate finds in the archeological record and come up with the hardest fantasy to swallow: The belief that a republican would encourage a scientific study and that he would be the perfect solution to uniting us.
REDICULOUS! The Republican Party is, at this very moment, suppressing minority voters, dividing the nation with racist lies and the worst offense of all....destroying the rule of law by defecating on the constitution!
The belief that the America’s were visited numerous time is pretty much fact. In fact, there is mounting evidence that sailors from the eastern Pacific landed in South America, that Chinese anchors were found in the Pacific off of Long Beach California, that outriggers were used by the tribes in Santa Barbara, that remains of Europeans were found in bogs in Florida. The list goes on and on.
There is mounting evidence that cannot be hidden any longer.

Best yet!

This has to be the best in the series yet! I’ve truly enjoyed this Authors work! Highly researched, well developed, well fleshed out plot and characters. This book in the series truly has it all! This book seems to bring all of the books in the series together; with some funny and poignant characters ,and laugh out loud scenes, suspense, twists, and just ties it all up with a bow! Seriously! This would make a wonderful series on Netflix! The author notes that you can read these as stand alone novels. I agree that you could. However, I highly recommend you read as a series and learn and grow with the characters, research, pictures of the relics, maps, etc. By the time you reach this novel, you’ll be in for a rare treat!

I have read a lot of the books in this series about the Templars in America. I have enjoyed reading them all and this book is no exception. I came to this book when I decided to fill in the gaps in the series by reading books I had missed. Having said that, the books can still be read as standalone fiction.

As with other books in the series, the story challenges popular thinking about current history, providing information that supports the narrative. This makes for a very thought-provoking read. However, don't be misled, thinking that the book might be too cerebral. It also has a very engrossing and exciting storyline that all adds to the pleasure of reading it.

Having read the first three books in this series and was enthralled by them, this seemed a bit lackluster to me. I enjoyed the conspiracy theories, even the giants, but the mind/behavior control was a bit of a reach for me. I do like the characters of Cam and Amanda. I love the passion they have for finding the truth buried by years of suppression.
I love the proof the characters come across proving that Columbus was not the first to "discover" our nation. Even more so when it is actual artifacts found here. Real artifacts and a fictional story make for great reading!

Ahead to the Past

And back to the future. Brody is in rare form in this novel, which turns slightly away from the main path the series has been following. Once again he looks at the research into "Old World" contact with the Americas before Columbus. This time he looks more at what is happening now that ties in with the past. The connection is interesting indeed.
As usual, I don't agree with all of Brody's conclusions, but there is always room for honest debate.
Or is there?
That's the theme of this tale, with all its intricate twists and turns.

Conspiracy to reality

Cameron and Amanda decided to change tactics and look into the story's of giants, it was a mystery that the stories where there but no proof like skeletons, this leads them to a conspiracy involving the government and the world of archeology they had been working on. Things happen faster than expected the thrill of the ride wasn't such a thrill to them. This story twists and turns leading to Unknown areas and lots of dangerous people. David Brody takes you on a history lesson that is unexpected, loved the story and I recommend this book

Cam and Amanda are caught up in a CIA program. They are trying to discredit any researcher who believes Europeans were here before Columbus. There is a rogue CIA Agent, that they get mixed up with, who appears to be trying to help them. This book really jumps around, and I found myself losing interest. I really thought the other books in this authors series were good, this one did not live up to those.

True? Or false?

Great novel. Full of mystery interwoven with fact. Is the narrative fact or is it fiction. I really like the written mystery. Sorry, I don’t have a clue about how authentic the story is but I really like the intrigue. A great amount of research was involved to produce this novel. Very well done. I also like the fact that there was extremely limited violance and approximately four curse words and no sexual overtones. Thanks

Another brilliant Template in US Novel

Love reading these books , the characters are like old friends , that no matter how long it's been, you are back to find out how they are getting on. The fact that the facts in these books are true is a massive plus, with pics to show they actually exist . History is actually not what's written for us to learn, there's so much more in history that actually doesn't make sense .

Great book! A total eye opener. David Brody as always, has done a lot of reference work to get the knowledge to write this book!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was totally engrossing to read all about the Phoenician artifacts, the believable existence of the giant race in addition to all other knowledge imparting details about a whole lot of information that most people have no knowledge of.

Thx!

Giants and Mormons and Masons oh my!

Interesting book. Is the presidential candidate Goliath^s 25th great grand nephew? Well read the book and find out. Brody uses a lot of actual places and things to flesh out the yarn, but goes for the Masons as the instigators of the cover up. That part is a nice touch. I got a good laugh at all of those exposed secrets, K Y C H

Great Read

Once again there is a lot to enjoy in this novel. A fast moving pace together and the exploration of pre-columbus America is always a winner. I found that the conspiracy of government to repress this area of study to be a little thin and unrealistic but apart from that it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Mixed Opinion

I have a mixed opinion about the book. It's an interesting premise and the tons of research presented is hard to refute, except the tale of Nimrod and giants. Wonder why there wasn't more about Oak Island's discoveries.
But there too much "telling" and not enough "showing". Too much lecturing.

A complex story

A interesting, but complex story that keeps you reading even though you believe that is a bit far fetched. Many in my family were Masonic, including several 33 degree, I do not think they would be appreciative.

A mix of spies and a race of giants

Did giants come with the early explorers? Why are many skeletons hidden? A little less Rajasthan the first three books, a touch of politics but not overt partisan.

alternative stream

This was an interesting story about an alternative view of human history. The combination of faced paced mystery and historical mysteries is a heady combination that draws me in and in this case made a book to be lingered over.

Pretty good.

This is book is the fifth in the Templar’s saga. This story was very complex and convoluted and hard to follow at times. I like David Brody’s books and I’m sure I’ll continue reading the series.

Giant fun

Love Me. Brody’s books, but this one had some disturbing typos in it (Barak instead of Barack Obama, Perdue instead of Purdue). Otherwise an interesting read and I can’t wait for the next book.

Fun read

I've enjoyed this series thus far. It is very interesting that the are so many unusual archeological finds that are not well publicized and that do not fit well into the established storyline.

Enjoyable read

Good and interesting storyline, I found it harder to follow as I had read it out of order, and characters had changed (don't want to be a spoiler) . It was a good read.

I feel the story line was disjointed too much and although tied up in the last chapter, there was no compelling reason to not put the book down. It never takes me 6 days to read a book, and most of the author's books have been two days.

Giant Hunting

A little more convoluted than the other novels, this one was very entertaining. I love the way Mr Brody takes the reader down some interesting rabbit holes, mixing fact and fiction. A great read!

Ludicrous!

Stupidous plot I've read in a long time. Makes Harry Potter seem plausible. Maybe I just have no tolerance for conspiracy theories. But if you go for that sort of thing, the book is well researched and tightly written. But in the end, a bore.

A lot of excitement as the series continues. Nice to see both new and old characters along the way. Some interesting new twists with a new way the CIA is involved in the research. Looking forward to the next book already.
