The World Has Changed. Education Is Opening Up.No more being stuck in a box. No more choosing between rigid options. No more forcing square pegs into round holes.
For the first time in history, every approach to learning—from hands-on apprenticeships to innovative classrooms, from creative exploration to rigorous academics—is becoming available to every family.
Drawing from their work with over 100,000 students, education pioneers Matt Bowman and Isaac Morehouse show how to navigate this new world of possibilities. They reveal practical ways to craft an education that works with your child's natural curiosity and talents rather than against them. This is your roadmap for turning the overwhelming array of options into a personalized learning journey that actually works.

We have homeschooled for 12 years and I was beyond impressed by this book, it was not what I had expected. I appreciated learning the history of traditional schools and how grades were created (meat grading!) Blows my mind we are still using that in our education system. The stories and facts are reassuring that we made the right choices for our children and family! We feel so fortunate we have been able to create individual learning experiences for each of our children. Going against the grain is not always easy but I am so glad we did! This book is not anti public school or charter- it’s pro “do what’s best for your child”
My friend urged me to read this since next week we are starting some alternative education options to the traditional public schooling I thought I would always do for my children. While this book is written by the creator of the OpenEd school, it was a good read in general about how public schooling is not always the best option and in fact other routes are often better. I think most parents know that but other options don't fit as well into what the world is today. It just was a good book and helped open my mind a lot.
