The nightmare continues on for Kogami Kii and the other survivors as they find their world still under fire from the horrific magical girls and their devastating wand attacks. While Kii and Kaede flee the city in a helicopter, the pair detours the flight to the hospital to save their friends. Seemingly a safe place, many people have taken refuge at the hospital. But blood will flow when the magical girls arrive to offer some healing of their own.

Yeah the hospital seems safe enough. I need to catch my breath to follow their survival journey. Many things happened so fast. Death is normal when life is a sacred thing. The magical girls arrived at the hospital! Could you imagine the horror?? It was gut-wrenching and full of adrenaline.
Oh! There is a fuckin' surprise when all the magical girls evolved. Yeah, they take to the next level of their appearance and ability which is crazier than before. Slowly but sure the person who behind the apocalypse revealed the reason. Still, the big question is WHY and HOW?!
Vedremo.
Kii and friends arrive at the hospital but the magical girls have taken over.
This is an up and down series for me. The first book was amazing, then the story will bog down in pages and pages of gore (don't get me wrong - I like gore, but there has to be a purpose eventually), and then the plot will pick up.
This was one of the bogs down volumes. The magical girls reappear and kill lots of people. Kii arrives at the hospital but it's a bad place. That's mostly it. There are times when I can't really tell what's happening in a panel due to the darkness or extreme closeup of the art. I'll still try the next volume, but I need to feel there's more of a purpose soon.
With this volume, the lore continues to build as not only do we have a very small snippet of their origin but we also learn that these demonic creatures can evolve and become stronger. This horrifying revelation is met with yet again more blood shed as the newly evolved magical girls wreck havoc for about 10 pages straight! It was good and gorey, and while not completely senseless it added to the characters development as we lost some and we also learned how smart and cunning some of them can be when in duress.
This series is by far my favorite manga series to date. The characters are equal parts funny, engaging, and heart wrenching. Once again the plot follows the survivors as they battle the Magical Girls while in the hospital. The Magical Girl that is on the front cover is not my favorite, mostly because of what her power is. And it's not because it was horrible but because of her, in a sense, my favorite character dies. I wanted to cry. Four stars and I highly recommend anyone to read this series!
Ultraviolence only gets you so far. I need this series to have a point soon. This volume continues to be over the top but is losing humor and any satiric bite as it tries to evolve into an ongoing story.
I think I’m addicted to this series. This is one of the best manga series I have read in a long time. I love the subversion of the magical girl genre and how they mixed it in with horror. The magical girls are terrifying and a love it. The uniqueness of each of them is refreshing. I can’t wait to see what other magical girls are sitting in the songs waiting to show up.
The characters are getting their backstories nicely fleshed out. I like that they told even more of Yoruka’s story. She was one of the people that you didn’t know all that much about and I like that I know more. Tsukune is getting a way more complicated story line than I thought she would have and it’s working fantastically. And we are starting to get hints that the reason this event is happening is going to be revealed to us very soon. Of course several more characters died, including a couple that I knew weren’t going to survive this issue as soon as we met them, but I’m getting used to that at this point. It was super sad to see a couple of them go though.
The art was as frenetic as usual. It was mostly readable (for lack of a better term) though. There was only a couple of panels where I had a hard time figuring out what was going on. And for a series that was so heavy on the fan service when it first started it was shockingly absent here. I think that’s a good thing. This issue was a heavy one and it would have detracted from the emotion showed.
Overall I really really love this series. It’s violent and gory and dramatic and fantastic. Highly recommend for mature fans of horror and manga. Emphasis on mature. There really isn’t any of the sexual content that was in previous issues of this but there is buckets of violence and gore that would upset more sensitive readers.
Que paginas tan bestiales, nunca había visto tanta maldad junta en 200 paginas.
¿Para que leer Magical Girl of the end 4?
This series is seriously gross. I didn’t really care much about the gore (and it is super gory) but there are multiple rape attempts/scenes and one of the main characters is a necrophilic rapist and pedophile. This series is frankly disgusting and you shouldn’t waste your time on it or anything else the author has written. How the hell did this get published???
This series is so good. Getting all the backstory of how the magical girls came to be is super interesting. And the character development is amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes a good horror manga.
Synopsis: Kii Kogami's live has been a living hell since the magical girls arrived bringing death and destruction with them. His school was destroyed but he and a few other students escaped. They finally found a safe haven at a shopping mall. Their haven didn't stay secure for very long and they were once again forced to run. In all of the chaos this time their group was split in half! One half is safe in a local hospital with their injuries treated, the other half is transported 10 years into their past where they make a shocking discovery.
Kii is no longer sure that Tsukune is the girl he thought she was. Kaede finally confesses that she has been in love with Kii for years and risks her life to save Kii. They are rescued at the last minute by soldiers and head of to find the others at the hospital. The hospital may not be as safe as they thought it was. Is that magical girl the one they killed before? One of the magical girls seems to be able to talk, can they use this somehow to save themselves? What is up with the magical girl on the cover? Her magical powers might prove to be a serious problem!
This series is constantly changing the rules on the reader. You think you have it figured out and suddenly the ground shifts and everything is different. It is done really well and without leaving the reader reeling, it keeps the reader hanging on the edge of their seat for more. Discoveries were made by several people in this volume that may finally solve the problem of where the magical girls came from and what they want.
I can't wait for the next volume to be released. This one ended on quite the cliffhanger. If you enjoy mayhem and zombies you should check this out. If you are squeamish or don't like gore, this probably isn't for you. There is a lot of gore but there is a lot of humor to balance it out. To quote this volume "Watch an anime you moron. Read a manga."
What I love about Magical Girl Apocalypse is that it keeps things fresh. Just when you think you know all the rules, it adds a new twist that livens things up. Within the first three pages of this volume alone, a character figures out something that could feasibly change the status quo for the rest of the series. Sato also seems to enjoy playing with tropes, having characters end up significantly deeper than they first appear. But beyond that, this volume fiddles primarily with plot cliches.
So. Many. Death flags. I'm sure we're all familiar with the "I love you = death" trope, and holy crap, there's a lot of it in this volume. So much, in fact, that Sato essentially turns it into a parody of itself. Because let's face it, you know it's coming, the first time someone utters those three words. Each subsequent time though, left me feeling more and more incredulous, until the entire affair took on an air of gallows humor, almost as if Sato is saying that in the midst of such tragedy, sometimes all you can do is laugh. This approach does undercut the gravity of the deaths however, which is a slight shame, because I had grown to like some of those characters.
Magical Girl Apocalypse continues to be a pleasure to read, and one which is becoming less guilty as time goes on. It's still full of gore, fanservice, wanton disregard for human life, and that outlandishly perverted cop, but there's a genuinely enjoyable story here.
man ol man this one hit me right in the feels. won't give out any spoilers but it's got me hooked. the characters are really branching out leaving you for more, the body count is only getting higher and more tragedy awaits I'm sure. you could say it's magicaaal
I don't know what to say. It's a gore-tastic. The plot is slow. The flash-insights to each character's lives are effective enough to make the reader care about each one just before they die. Decent character development. Could be a lot better, but it could be a lot worse too.
Another good volume. When I saw the cover, it reminded me of Dark Souls for some reason. Maybe its the character design. Anyway, the art and character designs are pretty good. And weird.
