Déjà Vu: The Novel

Rate this book
What if you met a stranger and felt you’d known them your whole life? Or maybe… a past life?

1960s New Runaway socialite turned rockstar, June Eldridge, finds forbidden love with Claude, an enigmatic Frenchman. Their connection is powerful, immediate—a supernova of possibility captured in released songs and unsent letters—but ultimately challenged by distance and fate's cruel hand.

Their story should end there, lost to time... but some bonds refuse to be severed.

Decades later, in Paris, Matilda seeks refuge from heartbreak. She meets Yves, a captivating architect, and time hiccups. As they fall intensely in love, memories that don't belong to them flood their senses—echoes of conversations never had, touches hauntingly familiar, the ghosts of lives unlived.

Are they destined to repeat the past? Or can they break free, rewrite the errors of their past lives, and overcome the fears that kept June and Claude apart?

Déjà Vu weaves an intimate, generation-spanning narrative about the threads connecting us across time. Set against jazz-filled Manhattan and the timeless streets of Paris, it explores fate, choice, and the possibility of finding your soulmate—again. Can love truly get a second chance, or are we destined to dance the same steps across eternity?

A must-read for believers in soulmates and love that defies time itself.

Hi there! I am an American author living in Paris with my husband —the man who deeply encouraged this novel and inspired it to life. DÉJÀ VU is my debut novel, heavily tied to my personal connections with unexplained connections, the malleability of time, and the power of second chances.

I wrote in a style that constantly weaves through intricate narratives, blurring the lines between reality and fiction. I've also played with a biography-style approach to fiction, giving this novel more warmth and realness. I wanted to create an immersive experience that challenges readers to question where one memory ends and another begins — creating overlap in time and moments of Déjà Vu!

This book touched me in a way few stories do. I saw so much of myself in these characters — their struggles, their passions, their longing for a place (and person) that feels like home.

The writing is incredibly smooth and immersive; I couldn’t put it down. I felt every moment — the heartbreak, the hope, the connections that felt destined.

I closed the book feeling grateful for the journey.

Can’t wait to read more from this talented author!

Déjà Vu is a gorgeous love story. A great one to get back into reading too! It felt both grand and intimate. Not something I say lightly. It’s quick, heartfelt, and impossible to forget.

Her writing feels effortless and the characters really do feel real. If you like romance and nostalgia, give this one your time. You might finish it in one sitting like me!
