Sometimes a different way of seeing is all that you need.
When you're told often enough you don't have the brains God gave you---you start to believe it. Tragedy strikes, and Chase Williams finds himself alone...
Andrew Golding is an ass... or so everyone believes. With his momma's wrath following him, he turns to the police as well as his ex-brother in-law, Riley, seeking refuge on the Triple H.
A murder at the ranch has everyone pulling together to find out the truth. Drew discovers there's more to Chase than meets the eye. His friend definitely has a different way of seeing the world and the people in it, which only makes Drew love him more.
NJ is just an ordinary person that has a million stories in her head that she needs to get out and share with the world. I began writing at the age of Twelve with a book Called Admetus Gaea-Untamed World... which I have only recently just found and finished writing.
I love reading anything, and I have worked my way through a few over the years. My own writing features it all from the paranormal/preternatural, fey, demons & human... I start with just a picture or a title and sit back as the stories unfold.
I do not plot, preferring to write in Utter Chaos. I was raised in Gladstone, Queensland and now live in a small country town with my family.
(I did not read book one but based on it’s blurb I think this is actually book 2.) Andrew Golding abandoned his brother-in- law (Riley) and nephew in the country on the orders of his evil mother. (He was actually supposed to kill them but didn’t have the stones to do it.) For this and many other heinous acts, he is reviled by everyone but Chase, who was – yes I said was – his best friend. He and Chase are on the outs because they got into a huge bar fight. Now Andrew’s got nobody to turn to. His family thinks he’s weak, his enemies think he’s a jerk and now he knows something that could end up with even more people being hurt. In order to do the right thing Andrew’s going to have to leap from the frying pan into the fire.
When Andrew hears of a plot to hurt Riley’s family again, he leaves the ranch and confesses what he knows. Though he’s doubted at first, they soon come to realize he’s telling the truth and are grateful for his help.
Meanwhile Chase is just getting over being dumped by his “you’re a dirty little secret” ex and wondering where things went wrong with Andrew. Chase has been injured in the past (brain injury) and sees the world differently from the rest. When Andrew shows up, having turned a new leaf, Chase gives him a second chance and together they help Riley and his family to solve the mystery of the body dumped on Riley’s land.
Just in time, they manage to unmask the true murderer and Chase and Andrew get their HEA.
**
This was a fairly short but action packed novella. If you’ve read the previous book(s) this will continue to further the story of Riley and Noah and they play a prominent role in this book. There is a little cowboy action, some pretty hot sex, a family drama of TV’s Dallas ilk, and a little murder/mystery to solve.
Since the couple already knew each other, it’s not exactly insta-love, but they do reconcile awfully fast. Chase is a unique character in that he isn’t exactly “normal” but he’s refreshing. Andrew is truly repentant and shows no sign of evil.
I hadn’t read this author before but I really enjoyed this and give it a 3.5 of 5 stars.
3 years past . What Andrew gooding did was just plain cruel when he left riley and his son abandoned on the side curve in the rain. And since then he has regret it but he had to do it, his mum ordered it. Now his back in noahs town. And tells all about his mums plans. Ad also to save his friendship with chase. drew and chase have been friends but drew has never been with aguy before so before you know these guys get there friendship back and move forward. There is a murder mystery story on a chance of pace. This book was unexpected who ended up with who but it happens love finds you in a different way. Cants wait for book 3 hope soon.
I just leapt straight in and started this series with book #3 and I loved it. Adding the first book to my TBR list so I hope I don't end up hating Drew.
But help a girl out here...I can't seem to find any trace of a book #2?
