Read this book in no time flat!! I love J.D. ROBB and the whole 'death' series. They are set in the future (starting 2059) but, by now means sci-fi-ish. You'll know what i mean, when you read them...and you MUST read them!!
I own and have read all of JD Robb’s death series. I obviously really enjoy the, lol! I really like to read a series involving the same characters and getting to know them.
She does an excellent job in keeping the stories going!
I love the "in death" series. I have read alot of them and tho there are 39 I have found each is a stand alone story. I have had a big crush on Roarke for years.
JD Robb is my hero. One of the best writers I've ever had the pleasure to read (and I read thousands in one year). Even after nearly 50 books in this series the characters and plots are still fresh. I have no idea how she does it, but I'm glad she does. You may want to check out her pure romance lines too as Nora Roberts.
This series is a police procedural set in a not-too-distant, somewhat liberal, but very plausible future. Robb's world building is first class, even secondary and tertiary characters have a detailed background and are very much a part of the heroine's life, and her word-crafting and plot building are without fail. Every damn book.
I really enjoyed this one. Of course, it's Nora Roberts, and I like all of her stuff, but I really liked this one. I always enjoy Eve trying to figure out how to just be Eve and deal with holidays too, so parts of this made me laugh out loud. I didn't expect the twist at the end with the killer, but after reading it a second and third time (I reread EVERYTHING)I finally started to see how I missed it. I love seeing Eve set up the killer just to tear them down. Just fantastic.
My sister's a big fan of Roberts too...which explains why I'm missing most of my books!
Enjoyable but not exceptional. All the familiar, loved characters there to solve the murder case, and relationships between them all growing. I have read a lot of this series so each book is not such a surprise.
Love this series, but this book was one of my least favorites. I appreciate growing the characters, but would rather that be integrated into more interesting story lines. This one was a bit too expected.
I really enjoyed reading about Roarke and Eve's annual Christmas party. It's always so fun thinking about someone with that much money having trouble finding something to buy. It was another great read I couldn't put it down until I got to the end.
I gave myself a break from the In Death series but recently started back again. This is one of the most enjoyable I've read in years in the series, and would get a grade of B+ from me.
